Journey to the West is special because it's an over 500 years old story. One of the Chinese classics. It only was fully translated into my native language some years ago. I recently bought it but until now I only managed to read 400 pages (of about 1.300 😎).

I think it's no story for everyone but I really like it. You can tell from the writing style that it's an old story.

The actor who played Sun Wu Kong in the 1986 tv show was perfect. He did manage to convincingly act as a monkey. 🐒

Killer and Healer could be a great pc game. JYL is the melee attack class with a gun as a second weapon. CYZ is the healer and his second skill is something like chanting to raise the stats and the moral of the whole party. Xiao Bai can be summoned as a special attack when JYL's rage bar is full. Xiao Bai will throw magical wontons at the enemies. CYZ can summon Ke Ying as a special healing skill which will heal the whole party at once. Other Party members are Sun Yong Ren as a kind of tank and Song Rong as a range attack sharp shooter. Chu Ran is another support character who can also heal (but not as good as CYZ) and she has a range attack (an archer maybe). The last party member should be Jin Da Cheng, also melee attack but with something sneaky as second skill (like stealing items from the enemy).

Everything you said is true and therefore ranting is justified! But let's be happy that KaH exists. It gave us KaHolics so much to be more than just content. I honestly have no other Chinese drama which has that special place in my heart. I have another one which has a huge special place in my heart - Journey to the West (the oldest one from 1986) - but that's totally different and both shows are not comparable... oh wait there is a character called Ba Jie. He is a pig demon and Sun Yong Ren was called pig by Zhong Yi Ren. 😁

Watched it a few times. Making me smile everytime again 🥰.

I know it's not funny but for a brief moment I had to grin because of the health bar (so pc game alike) and yes, at least they didn't show the last health bar.

Yeah it's so true. KaH is exceptional because everything was made so carefully. When Guardian mostly shines with the chemistry between the leads, KaH even topped that a countless times with the chemistry between MZJ and YBC, the side characters, the funny scenes, the cat, the music, the settings ... It all was just nearly perfect. That's what keeps KaHolics (at least imho) from moving on even after a long long time.

After all we should be very very thankful that this drama came into existence, even if it maybe never will get the attention it deserves.

Thanks for all your effort. Now I was able to fill more than one hour of my time with KaH stuff ... no wasted time for sure 😊

I also read about that rule. Wouldn't surprise me if it's true if you look at all the censoring. Like even if the censor allow such a relationship to unfold in an obvious way (I really think they did with KaH. The show is quite bold regarding the relationship between JYL and CYZ imho... that's part of the magic of the show and our happyness 😊
... and sadness 😥) you cannot expect that it is allowed to continue. No one should get the idea that they lived "happily ever after". And let's not talk about the other deaths. Chu Ran's and Chu Ming's weren't necessary at all or they should have given it some meaning other than shocking the audience. Also Sun Yong Ren (I wanted to see more of Mrs. Eggplant and Mr. Pig. Their conversations were so well written, so funny and heartwarming) and Song Rong (how could they just kill him and then never mention him again?).

I can recommend some Chinese/Taiwanese games (all are rpgs but with different combat systems and all are just subbed, no dubbed version but I prefer playing games with the original language).

My current no. 1 is Chinese Paladin 6 (it's from Taiwan). It's from 2015 so the graphics are not the newest ones but the characters all (except 1) have really nice background stories and the mainstory has good twists especially at the end. It is a bit sad but has overall a kind of happy ending. Chinese Paladin 7 has a demo at Steam which is very very good. Dunno when the game will be released.

My no. 2 is Xuan Yuan Sword 6: Gate of Firmament. Was the first Chinese/Taiwanese game I've played. It's also from 2015. Nice and dramalike story with romance stuff. Very long. Played it more than 80hrs. Excellent ending imho.

Nr. 3 is Gujian 3. It's from 2018 so the graphics are way better, but the gameplay is slightly boring and the story was not as good as from the other two games (but was a good story nonetheless).

I started playing The Wind Road but I cannot say if it's good or not for now, as I haven't played it long enough.

There will also be an online MMORPG of Gujian but I usually don't play MMOs so I'm not sure if I will try it or not.

A really interesting and quite demanding game was Tales of Wuxia. It's a tactic RPG with a realistic storytelling and you can learn a bit about the culture. The translation is not that good though. It has a high replay value as you can play it over and over again with very different characters.

Sadly I don't know anything about the background of the song 🙁

Two of my favorite things connected KaH and Chinese computer games 😁.

GuJian 3 is a really beautiful looking game (1 + 2 have no subs 😥).

Wonder how MZJ and YBC came to sing this song. But it's nice and as long as something nice is related to KaH then I'm happy.

I can't understand that either. They carefully crafted the whole show. The director did such a great job and the actors nearly all were perfect for their roles and then this crappy ending.
