Guys, let's not make a big deal out of the barely few who hate on this with a passion. There are thousands more who love this, let's focus on positivity. Every series has it's own flaws and this does too, but for me, the perfection outweighs the flaws. Let's hold on until next friday ^^
lol...well said, I feel you, hope they'll happy with your statement.
XD can't relate more with your thought. We should avoid responding to all those haters, then they don't get the attention they crave and their few in millions comment will get buried under all the appreciation and love this series and actors recieve now.
Getting drunk on set is extremely unprofessional and dangerous. The actor is essentially out of control and anything…
And, hope you mind your words when getting your opinions across, your wordings are ridiculous, I'll be relieved if your mind does not work like this always. Do have some sport-man's spirit, and learn to accept and recognise other opinions. The world doesn't revolve around you, your comments say otherwise. And about your "K-Pop Army" thread, oh please! Just because you're out of patience to justify your way of thinking, don't drag unrelated stuff in. What army and pet shows? How do you think you're any different from them?
But please, by all means, arguing with people on this page is totally harmless banter. But remember, it's a living person you're crusading here. If you think it's okay to critisize and be hard on everyone behind this anonymity just because you can, nothing is worser. Please do not spoil someones life and career by those barely thought words of yours. You're responsible for everything you write in here.
Getting drunk on set is extremely unprofessional and dangerous. The actor is essentially out of control and anything…
Dude, I really hope you know what the word "acting" means. Him acting after getting drunk is not going to set your pants on fire or impact your personal life. Well, this silly me will then leave you to rot with that crooked thinking of yours. How stupid of me to waste my words with you, God, I find you funny and pitiful. It's okay, just go rest your mind, you'll need to preserve it to create drama for the upcoming episodes. Take care ^^
You are a moron. Professionals, in whatever field of endeavor, do NOT rely on alcohol to do their job. If they…
Thankyou for that great insight, ofcourse my comment is stupid and gibberish compared your great wisdom. How can I even think of stooping that low, not everyone can be as exemplary as you are in it.
It's okay mate, I understand. Sometimes in life we should learn to accept "words of wisdom" and step aside, conceding defeat, I'll do that here since you seem to be too emotionally invested in "Sam getting drunk" that you can't move forward without getting your point across by punching it to other's faces. I'll pretend that I agree with you or whatever.
I don't understand why some create such an issue out of Sam drinking, for God's sake, these people are blowing up as if he committed drunk unforgivable crimes. For all who say he was unprofessional, then any person drinking for any reason makes them unprofessional in anything they do. Let's just change alcohol to unprofessional, so that it's easier for people to understand that "I had a shot=unprofessional"
If I get drunk before a dance, I'm unprofessional in it, it's obviously not because I wanted alcohol, oh my, unprofessional-ism to give me some courage.
If I get drunk to act drunk, even though I am sane enough to remember all my lines perfectly and deliver them without flaws and coordinate the scene well, woahh, obviously it's not daring, intriguing and professional, definitely does not involve any talent I possess, but just the darned alcohol : ), totally unprofessional of me, I mean how dare I. Yeah, totally acceptable.
The thing is that drunk scene was not Gao Shide, that was Sam. If anybody has ever seen interviews with him or…
I can swear that it was just ShiDe and only ShiDe for me. Yes, he behaved differently because he was dead ass drunk and completely out of his senses, he did not remember what actually happened, the next day. That's my take on the scene, I feel it was a perfect portrayal of ShiDe breaking down.
Getting drunk on set is extremely unprofessional and dangerous. The actor is essentially out of control and anything…
You see, professional actors are not deities, they are humans too. So what if an actor drinks to film, and let's say as you are suggesting, got wasted and became physical, One, the crew is there to take care of them Two, just because they work in front of cameras they can neither be perfectly moral like Jesus, nor refrain from having flaws. Your comment makes me think that it's okay for anyone else to drink and create a scene, but god forbid, actors cannot.
So Sam went to get breakfast for Shu Yi but somehow ended up on the roof of the building sitting on a bench looking…
About all that comeuppance, from my point of view, relationships are not about weighing and equalizing love and pain, more often one loves more than the other, one puts up with more struggles, and this is all because each person is different from the other.
As for the rooftop scene, ypu are right, I can't think of a valid reason for ShiDe being there other than there being a rooftop restaurant from where he brought ShuYi's food.
About Sam being drunk, every actor has his own way of acting I think. For me, this information was intriguing considering how perfectly he'd executed the scene with a variety of expressions. He must've had some light whiskey or whatever, because he seemed to be in perfect control contrary to the fact that he should've looked dead drunk. For me, it was not the whiskey, but the raw talent he possessed. Well, opinions do differ, so to each their own.
Pei ShouYi must be in his late/mid 30s considering the fact that he was a doctor back when Zhen Xuan was a student. They must have some age gap, nit much though since ZhenXuan seems to be an orphan sorta guy. 12 years, I wouldn't wait that long, but I know people who would, and personally to me, that's foolish yet courageous.
How much are you paid by the production company? lol You say you get all of this. My reply is FIVE YEARS, NO COMMUNICATION…
5 years might be too long, and unrealistic to go without meeting and speaking to each other for many, but from my point, it isn't. Poeple have basically lived misunderstandings till death refusing to even budge from their point, human emotions are complex for a reason, and love, it's abstract, I'd even go as far as saying that hate is a form of love too sometimes, love makes people do stupid things, it makes people hurt themselves and each other thinking they're protecting the other. So what if 5 years is too long and surreal, stories don't have to be realistic, don't they? We have enough of reality in our lives, so living and watching fantasy now and then is not a bad idea.
And this is a social networking site, people have all right to post their views, please do not disrespect opinions different from yours.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, I am officially dead. Acting!!! The acting was just on point, I don't even know what to say anymore. Sam, he just outdid emotions, I began to lose it the moment he asked "what is hate". Him sitting alone outside, I can't help but think he'd never have been seen if ShuYi did not come out. The way Sam portrayed all that grief, guilt, and desperate sadness, the way ShiDe composed himself enough to get up and take a breather, the way he gave his everything and just burst out, the way he could no longer stop himself, hold back, face it alone and put on a confident facade, It was more than perfect in my eyes.
When they zoomed in Sam's and Yu's eyes, the way his were filled with pain whereas Yu's were pretending to be clueless and innocent, just a word to describe it, beautiful.
Yu, though Sam's spontaneous combustion took all my senses to keep up with, I specifically went back to check on Yu's expressions, and the tiny flickers and changes that he showed on seeing ShiDe drunk, the strong yet demure expressions he portrayed all the way showing how those 5 years made him more mature and mentally stronger, him not fighting back with all he had (he could've left when ShiDe was crying, he could've left when ShiDe moved to the other couch.....I'd like to think he had a million chances to leave), him silently asking ShiDe what happened when he was in the U.S. and hesitantly reaching out to wipe ShiDe's tears, the battle between his confidence and hesitation, and most importantly, his willingness to know what really happened, and the fact that he still cared for ShiDe, Yu portrayed ShuYi with spot on perfection.
I loved how ShuYi got triggered when ShiDe said he was the one playing him, and couldn't help but laugh seeing ShiDe's panicked reaction the next morning all the while ShuYi was just chilled out. I feel really bad, but seeing ShiDe hauling and just launching ShuYi on the sofa made me choke for a second.
Also, the car scene where ShuYi blasts and then apologizes, the friendship portrayed between the 3 was sweet. ShiDe's talk with his cousin, and ShouYi's and ZhenXuan's small intro made me curious and sad at the same time.
All in all, the 2nd episode left me more than satisfied, and all the braincells I lost to keep me sane and patiently wait for this were worth it, and it ended on a calmer and more peaceful note too. This is going to be one of my all time favorites.
I feel you mate, people are allowed to have their opinions, but it's downright ridiculous when they want every…
Oh, I took it the wrong way?Sorry on my part too. I'm looking forward to this episode because apparently Sam drank whiskey? before the shooting of this scene, I'm excited to watch today's episode, 7 hours seems like 7 days to me.
I feel you mate, people are allowed to have their opinions, but it's downright ridiculous when they want every…
Hey man, chill. It's just a wild guess, there could be more to it, or my guess might not even be close to the real cause, ofcourse ShiDe is human, he has desires, he is selfish, he could be arrogant, he might be deperate, who knows what else.As I keep enforcing, these guesses are just random thoughts that pop into my head, and I will leave further 'real somewhat accurate' analysis for later when the show ends, afterall no one can perfectly decipher characters except for the writers themselves. I'm not thrusting my opinions to you, and you're ofcourse free to share yours and find flaws in mine, at the end, all we have are just random theories.
I feel you mate, people are allowed to have their opinions, but it's downright ridiculous when they want every…
Actually, my point is that Fear is not the reason for the 5 year gap and confusion, but just one of the deeper aspects that accompny the real cause, one that made him desperate to the point of breaking down and dropping down all his rationality.
Friday provides me with double treats. Tale of 1000 stars and WBL. My rotten side is happy and fulfilled.
My rotten side is virtually non existent, both happy and tortured at once. I just can't stop grinning like an idiot watching 1000 stars, sighing and pulling my hair apart watching WBL, and withering away waiting for atleast a snippet of a trailer from Immortality. If this goes on, I might need to have a session with a psychiatrist, What has BL done to me??
I feel you mate, people are allowed to have their opinions, but it's downright ridiculous when they want every…
I agree with the fact that ShiDe's behaviour is totally unjustifiable and unexplainable, given the 5 year gap, it's ridiculous of him to expect ShuYi to just fall into his arms, but I'm curious as to what made him think and act this way, so as of now, I won't label my feelings as hatred for him, but it does seem wierd. I really want to know what kind of back story they have in hand to explain his actions that show he expected ShuYi to be hopelessly waiting for him for 5 years.
Though I don't see much change in ShiDe except the fact that he's become more openly relentless (any other title, I'll have to wait for the show to end to label him), I am a bit intrigued by the confusion the writer is throwing us into. I'm really hoping that the plot reveal will do justice to all the time I spent mulling over this show. It was nice to know your honest opinion, hopefully ShiDe will not make it to the arrogant douche bag page of Google by the end of this show?
And honestly, I can't help but pity ShiDe too, one reason, I really can't handle composed characters just breaking down, that's a sore spot for me. After watching the 2nd trailer, combined with Sam's acting, and Yu's agony, I just lost it.
By the way, thankyou for reading that incredibly long "I'm jobless, so I'm just going to analyze and create excuses for characters" comment, would have required tons of patience.
I feel you mate, people are allowed to have their opinions, but it's downright ridiculous when they want every…
As I've said, every person has the right to own their own opinions. The reason why I think they're well written is because I can see some valid reasoning behind their personalities, though as you said, I'll have to wait till the end to put things together as we've very little clues to analyze what really happened in those 5 years.
ShiDe is a very reserved person, he does not socialize much and is more composed and put together. He doesn't have many friends, or maybe none who are very close to him except for his cousin. He is self dependent, and locks up everything within himself, maybe the fact that he had to support his mother from a very young age after his father abandoned them has to do something with it. He is manipulative based on how he set up the whole locked in the room incident during s1. There is an arrogant streak inside him, when his friend confessed to him, the fact that he asked him to not thrust his feelings and it's responsibility to another person was understandable, but when he apologized in the end, he had a smirk which would've literally pissed me out if I was the person who confessed to him.
ShuYi, he is a wild character, more like fire. He has a few very loyal friends and he'd do anything for them. Whether it's love or hate, there's no midground for him. He grew up without a mother and a father who's always busy to attend to him, so in a relationship, something he longs for the most is attention and devotion. He is damn impulsive and hot tempered, from his very first impression of ShiDe, we can clearly see that he is prone to misunderstand things and constructs and concludes the worst possible reason for any situation happening.
Now, their relationship. ShiDe was pessimistic about ShuYi loving him back and did not trust ShuYi's confession first, because again, he really expected and trusted nothing to be given back to him. He'd just grown up that way, ShuYi on the other hand, when he realized his love for ShiDe, he stopped at nothing to get him back and one of the main aspects that attracted him was ShiDe's commitment.
Now coming back to the s2, the drastic change in ShiDe's stance is because he is terrified of loosing the love that he was given, it might be due to the fact that he doesn't want to be abandoned, or rather that he fears being abandoned. If I'm not wrong, in the 6.5th episode of s1, we see ShiDe texting ShuYi over and over without gaining any response from him. Him not providing ShuYi with a valid reason might've been because he never had someone to open up to, and hence he wasn't used to it.
ShuYi, he might've faced some disappointment with the fact that LDR was making it hard for them to be in close contact, especially when ShiDe always seemed to be busy. Yet when he went to visit ShiDe, he was lounging out with some lady. ShuYi got angry and hurt either because he misunderstood or because he felt that he was no longer ShiDe's priority. That caused him to break their relationship for good, and he was supposedly going though some issues and could not lean on to ShiDe, this caused him to drift further away As for the 5 year gap, we'll have to wait and see what explanation they'll offer us.
This is my analysis, just purely my thoughts alone, it could be wrong or exaggerated, feel free to let me know any other opinion you have.
I've always had a special thing for HIStory series as it was one of the shows that got me into BL early on. So far, I've found all the seasons and stories to be innovative and different from the common track followed by all the other BLs out there. I've seen the new teaser that just came out, and I'm not entirely sure what to think about it, but I'm going to give it a go, I don't know how to jugde love, I can see that the step-brother couple's relationship is questionable, but to each his own. There are relationships like these in real life too, and there are people who are willing to love and tame obsessed people like these, so I won't comment. And the fujoshi theme, well, it makes the show have some romcom undertones, but i hope they wont take it too far. All I'd like to say is every story whether real or written is made up of flaws and characters are humane only if they have positive and negative traits. Love cannot be measured by intellect, so as long as the story is not cringy, which is a big no for me, I'll watch it. By the way, the acting looks really good, I'm looking forward to watch it
Lifetime Channel is some hellscape level bs. I think there are legitimate issues with some BLs, but the problem…
I can't argue with that, God knows how many BLs I've kept aside because it was too cringy for me to watch, many BLs have these issues with direction, hopefully it'll get better and to say it has improved a ton from back then is not a understatement.
Am I the only one who finds it weird that so many commenters get all offended and put-out when characters display…
I feel you mate, people are allowed to have their opinions, but it's downright ridiculous when they want every drama to be a fairyland paradise. Nitpicking on every aspect, they don't want the characters to be angry, they can't accept non-con (I can wholeheartedly understand that some concepts can trigger some people, they're out of the equation), can't tolerate any sort of negetive aspects of character. But I don't see the meaning of watching something if the characters are all perfect. I mean can you imagine how the story line would be
Once upon a time there was a beautiful and kind young man, he always helped everyone around him. He never sinned and was righteous in his ways. One day he met another kind, fairy like young man who never sinned and was righteous in his ways. They fell in love, never fought, never talked back to each other, understood the other perfectly, they were just the perfect dream couple, and guess what, they lived happily ever after. It's ridiculous.
Characters are worth investing you time upon only when they are flawed and human, only when they are questionable and relatable. There's nothing perfectly right and nothing perfectly wrong in this world, it all depends on the people involved. For many a sudden kiss might be a non- consented kiss, but for some who are shy and introverted and can't say yes even though they need it, it might just be a sweet "Yes!!Finally!!" kiss. We can't judge everything because we're not the people involved, I am not asking people to not have their opinions, but just as we appreciate goodness, I hope people can appereciate flaws too and embrace them, because that's what makes us human. Only when we embrace all aspects of life, we can accepts our misdoings and love ourselves completely.
No matter what others say, for me ShiDe and ShuYi are one of the best written characters, there's a lot of depth to their actions and personality, so my point? Love people for being human, don't ask them to be Gods.
Every series has it's own flaws and this does too, but for me, the perfection outweighs the flaws. Let's hold on until next friday ^^
