You said all westerners, you westerners, westerners, I am a westerner and when you lump all of us together they way you keep on doing, yes, you are including me which is why I said stop saying "you westerners, all westerners, and westerners do this. Don't say westerners are like this and that then tell me to stop making it about me, that was THE ENTIRE POINT of this conversation generalizations are exactly that, saying everyone is the same and that is what you have been saying to me the whole time up until five minutes ago when you suddenly wanna say all westerners are the same EXCEPT I wasn't talking about you. Yes you were. This is your problem, you are too closed minded and apparently don't understand what the phrase "grand and or sweeping generalizations" means.

Sigh...here we are 2 months later still not seeing eye to eye. My point is be it 100 years ago, 1000, or 50,I was not alive then and your grand generalizatiothst "us westerners" are all the same, we all this this and this today, right now because of this this and that 100 or 1000 years ago is extremely closed minded and shallow. I am not some person from 100 years ago and I don't base my thoughts and opinions on what peoe thought during that time and frankly, I tend to base my thoughts on my own conclusions and deductions. Where were you 6 months ago when I watched this lol? Ive done watched who knows how many more series since I watched this and now I don't even remember what the details of this, but I thank you for your response and hope it will help other future viewers who have the same level of confusion. :)

It is in IQIYI. It is part of a short story collection called "My Universe, which is near the bottom of the list of BL's. This story starts with episode 7 of My Universe.

Well this was a nice series as expected! What I wasn't expecting was that happy mid credit ending. What I would love to know is what happened during that 6 year time period. I'm all for a happy ending but how on Earth did we get to that point. I suppose I shouldn't be looking a happy ending gift horse in the mouth but it seems like some very important key details were left out. It was still very good overall though!

Oh thank you for this comment, I was contemplating skipping this series because of reading the comments about how heartbreaking it is. It's good to know there is a happy ending. I guess I'll just wait for all the eps to be available.

Well I just finished it and while I still appreciate this comment because who knows if or when I was gonna get to this, but I'm not quite as overjoyed as I was when I wrote that 10 page essay 2 days ago. I did like it overall though and it kept me invested the whole time!

Well I'm usually not one to listen to comments and reviews on here because I feel like a lot of people really look at bls with heavy critiquing eye here on MDL and I tend to find myself liking things most people hate on here but once or twice I have agreed with the naysayers on here and the negative feedback on this is so much, I thought this was probably one of those times where I would agree.

Well, I decided to scroll through more comments, all negative until I came to your comment like a beacon shining in the dark. Your comment and the fact that 3 other people agreed with you convinced me to start this series and I am maybe 15 mind into ep 2 and I absolutely LOVE this!!! I am absolutely not seeing this series the way so many negative comment or's are seeing this. This boss definitely has feelings for his assistant, he clearly has past emotional trauma that is making him not want to commit to anyone. This actually reminds me a bit of some modern BL Beauty and The Beast and I am loving it so far!! I just wanted to come back on here to say thank you because if not for your comment I would not be enjoying this series right now if ever!

What is the difference between the two. There are two appearing on IQIYI but neither was listed as uncut, jut one was listed as "Vietnamese Version" so I watched the other one. Where is the supposedly "uncut version"?

Yes it is definitely a BL. Clearly Jack and Joke love and are in love with each other but this series is light on the spice, if you know what I mean. Personally, I loved it though and don't really mind the lack of steaminess. Their feelings I feel, still shine through regardless and the story and acting kept me hooked the entire time.

But you are judging based on history. You specifically brought up a thousand years of history you literally just wrote an entire essay about history and used it to judge me, who happens to be a westerner. My point is that when you say "all westerners" or"the westerners" or "you westerners" ect, you are saying we all think the same way, we all share the same beliefs and that absolutely isn't the case. How many countries are in the western hemisphere of the planet, how many cultures have migrated to the west? We are different here than 1000 years ago. Not everyone thinks the same way. I am one "of those westerners" yet I wouldn't boycott the Addicted series. Sure there are those that apparently would, and apparently did, but not all of us would. Just like not all Asian people think and act the same. You and others like you use history to judge all of us together, you say you are not, but you are, and I am telling you not "all those westerners" share the same opinions. You do not know me and I sure don't know you ergo I'm not going to say " all you, wherever you are from, are the same.

I don't knkw about you but I am not those people from hundreds of years ago. I am me and I think it shirt sighted to judge someone based on the actions of other people from hundreds of years ago. And I don't like SA either but it isn't a subject that shouldn't be touched upon just because we don't like it or find it uncomfortable. Some people have had to deal with in their lives and I think accurate representation of the struggle and how people come to grips with it can be beneficial to see, even in a fictitious setting such as in a BL or drama.


As for this whole "Westerners do this do that, say this say that. I think you are allowing your ego and need to preach to completely miss what I am saying.

My point is that not all westerners and parts of the Western hemisphere of the planet are the exact same, just like not all parts of the Eastern hemisphere of the planet and Asian countries are all the exact same. Especially not in this day an age when there are so many people relocating from different parts of the world. I think that using blanketed comments like "of course the Westerners would say that" or "I'm glad I didn't listen to those westerners" is very narrow minded and makes one look foolish. That is my point that I am making to you. I am not going to make a judgment in you just because of where you live. I am not going to assume you think the same as everyone who lives in the same country, town, chunk of the planet as you. Human beings are incredibly diverse, far more diverse now than ever before giving the connection the internet provides. That is my point I am trying to make to you.

But then you proceeded to tell me that "just because someone doesn't like someone else, that doesn't mean it's SA. Stop labeling everything as SA, sometimes people just don't like each other". I agree. It was the other person that was saying all those things.

As for lumping everyone in the same section of the hemisphere together? That's just silly. For example, just because South Korea may be know for certain toxic behavior, I would never say, "The Eastern Hemisphere" or "Asian cultures are toxic." Not everyone is the same and you saying such a blanketed state does nothing but invalidate the common sense you were making and leave you looking foolish.

I think you are either responding to the wrong person, or completely missed my points, which is hilarious given we are both saying similar things. Except, I am not making grand generalizations about an entire region of the planet.

Ah, well it's been 10 monte and I've watched a lot of other series since then so I can't remember the exact details but I think I recall them missing 10 years together. They do find there way back to each other but it took years but it does end with a beautiful, satisfying ending and everyone ends up happy at the end. I don't remember the exact details anymore but I do still remember absolutely loving this series when it ended.

Hmm I just finished Love Beneath the Stars and was interested in seeing something else with Keann Johnson. Is this any good? I'm surprised no one has talked about this series at all given it has a score rating.

I absolutely LOVED this series! I loved the connections and bonds the actors portrayed between their characters, the story was interesting and kept me fully engaged over the few days it took me to binge watch it, I thought the music and soundscore fit the series perfectly and helped bring even more feeling and emotion. Lastly, I thought the story as a whole, with the inclusion of the spin off episode, left me with such a satisfied, warm, and toasty and hopeful feeling. I absolutely loved this series and wouldn't change anything about. Kudos to the actors and to all involved in bringing this story to the series screen.
