Title Joy of Life Spoiler
Spoilers:- Fan Xian is actually the emperor's son; his mother married the emperor- Si Li Li likes Fan Xian- Xiao…
Xiao En is not his grandfather. It was all a plot designed by Chen Pingping to make Xiao En believe that Fan Xian is his grandson so that he will tell him the secret. Xiao En's actual grandson seems to be Yan Bingyun.

Chen Pingping does care for Fan Xian, and it is hinted that his plans for Fan Xian go beyond just making him the King's right-hand man.

That was a sudden ending of the first season of the drama... I would have to say that one of the main reason why…

I'm a bit confused by one thing: how much does the Emperor know about Fan Xian? Does he know about his mother? Does he know Wu Shu is protecting him?

Horrible ending. So many storylines unresolved; ending is so unsatisfying/rushed/inconclusive. Throughout the drama, Lee Dongwook acting was horrible and his character a distraction from the best parts of the drama - Jo Seungwoo trying to balance medical staff and corporate boss.

Expected much more from writer of Secret Forest. This drama is getting universally slammed by k-netizens.

Lee Dongwook is so bad in this... his character is so horribly written too.

Seeing as ratings are going up, I might pick this up again, the problem I had with it is the lack of subtlety…
The setup is less suspenseful because its not a classical 'revenge' template. The tension builds over long arcs, and its not like you destroy a bad guy every 3-4 eps. But the return is as great, if not better.

I push back watching for fear of disappointment lol I mean NIF is on another level so to keep up....is it really…
i'm starting to like it more than NIF. NIF was amazing but also quite cookie-cutter: revenge scheme after revenge scheme, taking down one court enemy after another. NIF2 is more intricate imo. i was really scared to start it but now i watch the raws the day they come out.

So after having watched past ep. 27, let's just say all the hype died for me. It was exciting for the longest…
well, because the death is a significant part of the plot, and not the destination but a station along the way, it had to be written in a way to produce the greatest narrative development. hence the intricate/elaborate method. I don't understand why its 'ridiculous' - the motives, method, process was all explained.

like everyone below, I am loving the dynamics between the characters. Anyone else also loving the brotherhood…
ep 28 is going to make you cry. I really like this King; truly the son of Prince Jing!

I'm up to episode 24 now and have a pretty good idea of how Pingzhang is going to die. Honestly really disappointed…
Imho the big picture is about PJ coming out of the shadow of his brother and his growth through the sacrifices and love of his family. Hence this is very much done for purpose of servicing the plot and character development!

some Ratings update . It hit 0.461 and 0.478 with its most recent episodes on TV which is like a 0.1 jump over…
its also getting good reviews on Douban (rising steadily!) I really hope this show becomes big, it deserves just as much praise as Season 1.

Just a Q guys.... do u guys think that this session 1 was better or this one?
at first I thought Season 1 could not be surpassed but the first half of this season has been so well-written that if it continues in this way it could exceed it in my mind. The relationships (e.g. father-son, brothers, romance) are imho done better in this show. The first season has an easier to follow storyline - revenge by taking down one minister/one prince at a time. This season is more complex, many different villains with different objective and intersecting storylines. Harder to follow, but just as compelling. I also love how this season is more about military/war than court politicking (even though I love that as well). Distinct from Season 1 but just as fun!
