A lot of viewers were comparing Zhao with Sang yan for the yearning part(which I agree) but I think he is very similar to Yifan(as already mentioned in the comments before).Both the characters faced so much in life that they completely shut themselves down from rest of the world for some time which was honestly understandable. Both of them thought that their lovers deserved better n they needed time to heal.
That is the reason y Zhao needed Mumu n Yifan needed Sang yan in their lives. Just imagine a person like Jin Zhao dating a person like Wen Yifan☠️. Things would've gotten so messy. Realistically not possible imho.

Actually they were about to release 32 eps at first ig then they reduced it to 30 then finally 29 so a.lot scenes got wasted...they should have given at least 40 eps imo

The novel had more angst but the angst in the drama is ig for 3-4 eps max but it does have angst but also has steamy romantic scenes. I think their moments together were light but the ML is really unlucky n suffers a lot but they toned it down in the drama but he tries n the FL loves him a lot. So ultimately depends on how u feel.

I think after that he started thinking that nothing might go right in his life, anything at anytime might happen so y drag Mumu with him. He also had that low self esteem. In the novel even JM's father asked him to stay away from her n her mohter already didn't like him. Maybe he thought they were ri8 n he shouldn't destroy someone else's life. Since he already saw Mumu having a stable life at clg,maybe he thought she is better off without him.
Let's be real a lot was going on for him. His mental health was not good. He lost his parents, then JM's mother didn't like him, got blamed for a crime he didn't commit. His inner child always afraid of getting hurt. He couldn't realise that JM loved him nonetheless.
Although story is very well-written but I didn't like the separation arc in the story. I don't like them in any dramas tbh but it did make sense in this story. I gap of 2-3 yrs max would've been better. N the way it was shown how JM deeply loved JZ in the 1st half of the plot, it didn't make sense that she didn't find out what exactly happened to him after the accident. I mean I know she tried but I thought maybe she would go crazy n eventually find him within 2-3 yrs. Given the fact that she missed him so much n rejected her blind dates coz they weren't like JZ. That time was so hard for both of them. I was like they they already suffered so much(especially JZ) so y the separation yyyyyyyy......
We know the diff btwn constructive criticism n hateful comments making personal attacks so they can't fool us. But they r misleading other ppl
