HJP smiled for a while and then the writer got jealous.......
Exactly, lol. I was inwardly shouting "noooo, don't be too happy" every time they showed us a smiling Ji Pyung on screen. He's going to get crushed so badly.

From 1-10, how hurt will i be after watching this episode? As a hjp supporter
We get to see many scenes of Ji Pyung being happy and he's finally interacting with Yong Shil again, but I have a very bad feeling about tomorrow's episode.

I really don't want to see his happiness being crushed.

Title Start-Up Spoiler
You are scaring me or wot
Predictions that came true:
- what happened in those three years is shown to us within one minute
- everyone has become super successful and past issues still haven't been addressed
- Ji Pyung plays savior for Dal Mi in a situation where his help wouldn't have been needed
- Dal Mi is still pining for Do San while leading on Ji Pyung ( as in that she doesn't clearly reject his advancements or never talks about where she stands with her feelings)
- Do San comes right in between when Ji Pyung finally takes the courage to ask Dal Mi to become his girlfriend (at least it wasn't a proposal haha) and as a result, Ji Pyung doesn't even get to ask
- Do San seems to have made a 180 degree turn, he doesn't seem socially awkward anymore and he's not obsessing over Dal Mi anymore even though he's still in love with her, instead, he seems to have become understanding and sacrificing
- Now Ji Pyung is the one who stops Do San from going to Dal Mi

Everything is so perfect i'm more afraid than before
They aren't, and they also haven't shown us viewers what's inside the box. Whatever it is, he wanted to use it to confess to Dal Mi again and to ask her to become his girlfriend. But Do San came in between.

Nooooooo many of our (pessimistic) predictions have come true in this episode.

The endgame still isn't 100% clear though, and probably also won't until the last episode. And one positive thing: Yong Shil has finally made his comeback!

JP nation (and the few reasonable DS fans here), let's not bother to reply to comments who are devoid of any logic and attack us fans personally anymore. It's not worth it, they won't magically start to reflect on their words if we try to argument with logic. And attacking them back just makes us go down to the same level. Let's just completety ignore them and have fun analyzing the new episode in a few hours!

Thanks for sharing! I didn't know him but have looked him up now. He indeed seems to have been a very inspiring person. I'm personally not that interested in start-ups but I'm always eager to learn something new, so I'll definitely read his book once I find the time. How incredibly sad that he left this world at such a young age.

I already elaborated on this before so I won't explain the reasons again, but Ji Pyung's growth arc just feels so forced and fake. He didn't need to grow professionaly but in terms of human relationships. He's now basically getting all the growth that Do San would actually have needed lol.

I LOLed at the writer justifying her writing choices by real life. Where's the reality in this drama please?

I bought the Esquire Korea magazine to read Kim Seon Ho's full interview (my Seon Ho fever has reached new heights lol) and this is how the full conversation about who will end up with whom in Start-Up went (I'm summarizing a little):

Esquire: Actually, characters like Cyrano de Bergerac who get a happy ending in love barely exist. But when it comes to this drama, I really can't tell whether Dal Mi will end up with Do San or with Ji Pyung.

KSH: The writer said before that she doesn't like to write stories that let one know from the get-go who the end game is. Since in real life, this doesn't happen often either.

Esquire: I'm rooting for Ji Pyung to tell the truth. Can I keep my hopes up?

KSH: Erm... uhhh... one sure thing is that I'm in love with Dal Mi.

Esquire: We all know this. Only Ji Pyung doesn't.

KSH: (laughs) I'm not sure either what the result will be. I don't know the script for ep. 16 yet.

Esquire: Come on, you should know by ep. 15.

KSH: That's not what I meant. The script can always change last-minute... Ah, right, Start-Up does have some unexpected twists that surprised me as well. I think I can tell you this much.

Esquire: Alright, thank you for the great tip.

FYI the interview was held on the day ep. 7 aired.

Oh, right, there's a parallelism here. Let's hope that it's not just supposed to be a romantic scene and that there's a deeper meaning.

Oh wait, you mean they are using the rarely used "Is that the guy, I love? I better chase him... Oopsie, wrong…
Lmfao.

Come to think of it, the engagement ring could still be Do San's after all. Even if it's not his hand in the preview, he might have given the box to someone else to hold for a second and they captured this scene. Do San likes getting ahead of himself, so I wouldn't be surprised if he suddenly proposes.

https://twitter.com/seonhoppa_/status/1332258723817930752?s=19NEW CLIP. This is depressing. She is obviously still…
Well, that was obvious. I'm still hoping that she'll realize that she was hung up on a fantasy after interacting with the new Do San and getting to know his real self.

But considering that the new promos are all stating that Do San will have changed a lot, I'm suspecting they're really taking the route of nullifying the entire drama up until now to make Dodal happen.

Though, since they didn't say that he changed for the better and could thus also have changed for the worse, I'm now also betting my hopes on this theory someone here had, that the now villain Do San has come to take revenge on Ji Pyung lol.

Why is there no tvn drama awards? This is long overdue. It's unfair that only actors who starred in SBS, KBS and MBC dramas can win awards at the end of the year.

I want Kim Seon Ho to win something as well.
