It's interesting, because I didn't think about that, but it still looked familiar. I would have said Hollywood. I think both represent this idea of darkness under the bright lights.

I watched 8 episodes and I really like it so far. I was worried by the SF aspect but it doesn't change the plot so I'm good with that. I don't know why they changed the names, but you get used to it and I guess there was a reason behind that choice.

I think the actor playing Pei Su is perfect for this, he's carrying the show in my opinion. I'm pleasantly surprised by the BL elements. Even if they are subtle (mainly gazes), you can feel some tension. I'm playing this game where I'm analyzing the way Pei Su smiles at people and the way he dresses. Call me crazy but I noticed he's always wearing full black coverage as an adult and there's only one time he wears a little bit of white.

Anyway, I hope they release the subtitles soon so everyone can watch the drama at the time.

I don’t think you will, unfortunately. GL are not as popular as BL so they’re difficult to find.

What I’d advise if possible is when you have a bit of money one month, take GagaOOLala for a month and watch the GL that are on it then cancel the next month.
But if you’re not interested in the others then it’s probably not worth it.

Ah no I agree, I was talking about other dramas that haven't been produced yet. HYX is just waiting to be aired, so it's no like they could change the quality anyway.

I was saying that if we have to wait a few years for air HYX (and other danmei adaptations) to air, I hope they just won't stop producing them and will find a cheaper solution if they can't do anything else, if that makes sense.

For HYX and other danmei adaptations already produced, I'd love for them to bepublished on another platform like Netflix, but I'm just not sure that's possible. I remember conversations we all had months ago about that and how unlikely it was... but who knows.

My hope is that this dramas finds a loophole and/or publish it on another platform like Netflix.

Honestly I'll take the low budget BL webdramas over nothing, if they want to wait it out. I don't know if they are more strict on BL adaptations than GL, but those are still being published online.

It’s kind of comforting to know we’re not the only ones. A lot of people got motivated learning mandarin because of that.
Of course it’s always useful to learn a new language and Chinese culture remains fascinating. But still… it was a big motivation for me.

I’m sorry they have to go through this, it’s even worse for the Chinese population and authors.
And I won’t even talk about what it means for queer people… it makes me very sad.

I’m glad they are resilient and already finding new solutions. I hope they’ll all be safe.

I’ll keep supporting them as I can by buying the English novels for a start.

I hope they’ll find a loophole/another platform (like for exemple a Taiwanese website) to post that content…
