I'm disappointed... It had so much potential but ended up being just a 7 episode long lecture on copyright issues... Good acting and good directing gone to waste.
That bed scene. Mind blown. How can it be romantic but so relatable and plain hot at the same time?! I'll say this for the first and probably not the last time. Gummy you lucky woman!!!! Jo Jung Seok killed me in Oh My Ghost, but came down to drag me up and torture me.
And the "I love you more than I love Nari"? That's some bromance right there.
With this episode 23, you got me yet again, writer-nim!
I wasn't expecting this at all when I decided to watch this movie (why didn't I read the tags?!). It is both disturbing and brilliant. Everything about this movie is fascinating, the acting, the settings, the plot, the direction, everything. It is a great criticism of our society where beauty, fame and power are all we look up to. I can't help but wonder how many Lilicoes are out there, lost souls who try to survive in a world sicker than they are.
A must see imo. (available on Kiss Asian!)
Episode 15 is hands down one of the funniest drama episode in K-drama world. I laughed so hard I cried. It's plain brilliant! F*ck the shipping, the 3 of them are amazing!
I am not going to be nice with this drama. I'm disappointed. I have a VERY hard time liking most of the characters.…
Thank you for the reply! It's great to have other point of views, that's why I love MDL!
I do understand Hana to a certain point, I myself have sacrificed quite a lot in life to be where I am today. I actually pity her really, cause she's been through a lot, but she's not a charming character. Maybe because English is not my first language, I don't seem to find the right words. She... lacks a little something for me that would make her a character I want to root for.
As for Jung Seok, I agree that in the beginning he had all the reasons in the world to side eye his lazy brother. But he just seems so uninterested in him, it's a shame. I can see he wants to change, I think he should start by treating the people around him (not only the girl he likes) better?
Gong Myung imo is just sad his own family sees him as a burden, he just hasn't found his path in life (and I'm sure lots of us can relate) and now that he finally found something (and someone) he's passionate about, he goes all out, often clumsily I agree, but still he tries to show he is a good person.
I am not going to be nice with this drama. I'm disappointed.
I have a VERY hard time liking most of the characters. First of all, I seriously hate Jung Seok. He is trash even when he tries to be a good person, I don't understand what the writers try to do with him? Sure, they can make us think "he behaves the way he does because he suffered in the past" but that doesn't explain why he treats his brother like shit and still annoys everyone with his "high-quality" life... I don't really like Hana too, she is so indecisive about everything and lacks willpower. She isn't very appealing as a main character, she's always so depressed. And Park Ha Sun is sooooo skinny, I get distracted when I look at her legs. Same with Jin Yi, the amount of plastic surgery is scary (coming from someone who has nothing against PS) and it adds to her superficiality and her not-that-good acting. I do pity her for having a douche as her boyfriend. I think their boss might be the weakest of all. Though I do start to like him, he was there for Professor Min (whom I love btw, that scene with the alarm in ep 12 got me crying) during the mourning period, that was amazing of him.
I mainly watch Drinking Solo for the younger cast. Gong Myung, Ki Bum and Dong Young are great, Chae Yeon's acting can be dull, but her story makes up for it. I'm sad in advance, knowing Gong Myung and Hana won't be endgame, he'll be heart-broken for sure, but what the hell, he is the nice character who'll be fine anyway, so let's make him the usual unhappy second lead. And Ki Bum, though I do think he might end up with Chae Yeon, will only be a "second choice".
If I think about the ending, it wouldn't be realistic to make all four pass the Civil Servant exam, so there is bound to be failure for some of them. But who will pass? Dong Young who has been trying for 5 years? The bookworm Chae Yeon? Or the brother of the Noryangjin star, the ultra motivated Gong Myung?
I don't know what to do with this drama... I usually am the type that sticks with a drama to the end but after 12 episodes, I kinda want to drop it.
I am sorry for this long rant, but even I feel sad about this drama... What do you guys think?
Oh we finaly get to know what the "aliens" before the preview are! So Inside Out of them haha but very cute :)
I am still so torn between the two men, I thought it would get easier but damn I was wrong. Now that she knows how Hwa Shin feels, taking into account episode 13 & the preview, I think it's game over for Jung Won. She seems to battle with her lingering feelings... #happybutnotreally #shipsinkingbutnotreally #dilemma
There's something special about this drama. It is comforting yet not boring at all. It is not about epic love or burning attraction. They truly feel comfortable with each other and realize their attachment at a time when both of them are unhappy. I think it's a really smart way to make the viewers accept their affair, I understand how they want to be with someone who values them more than their spouses. For now, the affair is on an emotional level only and completely relatable imo. Soo Ah sees in Do Woo the loving husband and father she wants her husband to be, and we could all see how deeply moved Do Woo was when Soo Ah held the bag with Annie's ashes so it wouldn't be on the ground, when Annie's own mother doesn't even want to talk about her.
Can we also talk about how beautiful is Do Woo's love for Annie though he isn't her biological dad? As someone who was raised by a "step-dad" (though I don't like the word), it hits home... I rediscover Lee Sang Yoon in this drama, I feel I can see his soul in his eyes...
Loved the bromance at the end of episode 12! But now that she knows how Hwa Shin feels, I feel nervous. The guys finally made up, it would be a shame to ruin it all.
Why do I ship Jeong Won x Hwashin more than Nari with any of the two? hahaha
Ep 8 got me dying from a hotness overload!! Jeong Won's tailoring scene, Hwa Shin's hospital, restaurant and sleep room scenes... They're f*cking with my heart, if I were Nari I would hide in a corner and cry because I wouldn't be able to choose one. They're both perfection in their own way.
I like Nari's character more and more, she is really selfless. What she does for Hwa Shin is awesome imo. But I hope she'll try and get to know Jeong Won too, he seems like a really nice person and I feel she puts up a wall between her and him...
I couldn't help but laugh when Hwa Shin sang his solo song at the noraebang. The lyrics were so spot-on hahaha
Why is everyone sleeping on this drama?? It's fun and fresh. It seems they're all into Bogum and Junki, that will be more Jung Suk and Kyung Pyo for me :)
Am I the only one thinking that Hwa Shin used to (and still does) have feelings for Nari 3 years ago -when she did- but couldn't be with her because he thought she deserved better after what he did to his brother? I've been feeling this since ep 1 but with ep 7 it became obvious??? Like he tries to convince himself she still cares and keeps unconsciously comparing himself to his perfect best friend? And that "We always like the same girls" Jeong Won threw at Hwa Shin? I mean come on!
This is so good. I wasn't expecting this at all when it started but damn I am hooked!
For the first time in my life I am equally attracted to both the main character and the second lead. But like seriously attracted. Go Kyung Pyo is seductive, confident, charming and sexy as hell and Jo Jung Suk plays hidden-but-not-so-hidden jealousy like no other. I AM SHOOK. My heart flutters so much, what's happening to me???
Wow episode 9 got me crying. I'm a mess! This drama is pure gold. Seriously, someone give the author an award please. The girls are amazing too, the acting is so good it's soooo easy to sympathize and relate to both their personal stories and the group dynamic! I'm pretty sure I'll give it a 10 whatever the ending may be.
Ah, thank you for giving love to Nagase. He's been my crush for the longest time, I find him so masculine, charming and touching at the same time. Not only he is talented as a rocker but as an actor as well. Utahime is such a jem. His best drama and one of the best j-dramas imo. Anybody with at least a romantic bone in their bodies should watch it, a classic I'm telling you!
My favorite dramas might be Orange Days for J-dramas and Goong for K-dramas. Mainly because they're among the firsts I've seen, and I shall never forget how happy I was when I watched them :)
And the "I love you more than I love Nari"? That's some bromance right there.
