So Mile is just here as a love interest for Trin? Pond you’ll pay for your crimes, this is like the 3rd time…
Tanwa's character does have development through the series, almost the whole ep4 is dedicated to Tanwa and his background. The execution could have been done better though..you are right.
Folks, if u r thinking of starting to watch Shine, just start from ep 3.
the first two episodes are def needed, I skipped through ep 1 to watch ep2 and so on. Than I had to go back to ep1 to understand each character and their quick backgrounds. I feel some did truly linked to the story later on and why some characters feel the need to stand up for what they believe?
idk why but I feel like Tanwa lacks emotions on that last scene, he just stands there smoking unbothered as if…
Ok I guess that does make sense. But I’ve seen BL where the others have to be the strong one, but there’s still “emotion” on their face. Which make the character has more layers.
Like a form of “strength” is also an emotion that could be shown on the face. Tanwa could show an emotion where he waited and worried for Trin, he doesn't know where he's at. Trin pouring emotions on his shoulder made him shocked of surprise but he had to hold it in because he's the strong one.
That could also be shown on the face. But on Tanwa’s face is….non chalant.
“ where you know you have to be the strong one” yes I know, and still I'm not asking Tanwa to full on have a crash out or cry with Trin.
I was reading some tweets and reviews from the Thai fans side about the series, and I was given an deeper understanding…
“According to Thai fans” how is this even a credible source by all means. There are also a lot of Thai fans who thinks Victor has better chemistry or etc. There are different opinions.
And whats the obsession about age? I bet deep down you wish Victor’s underage so you could have labeled it “pedophilia” right away. Victor is in college, theerefore he's a full adult, that's all the information we needed to know. Unless the show release information to said otherwise.
Also on x, a Thai fan said Victor and Trin are finally over. And Apo responded “ how do you know it’s over? Hehe”
I was trying reeeeaally hard not to do this bc i KNOW it's a MileApo production but man it's like they are actively…
idk why but I feel like Tanwa lacks emotions on that last scene, he just stands there smoking unbothered as if he's waiting for his buddy to get off work. When he sees the pouring emotions from Trin...once again....nothing on his face. While Trin is speaking to Dhevi, not one emotion crossed that face. I need someone to explain to me....because I'm lost, I feel disconnected from their relationship.
ok I know how everyone saying the power dynamic between a professor and student is bad, like it is wrong for this ship to even happen or think about. But how is Krailet and Naran not parallels to that? I think if we are talking about power dynamics, than the Colonel and Reporter is just as bad.
Krailet is a colonel with way more power and connections, Naran is a reporter with no wealthy family background or much power. The kiss in ep2 is consented since Naran end up initiating it, BUT in ep 3 where Krailert dragged Naran into a dark room in which he tried to escape or get out 2 times. The colonel dragged him back each time. Let's say the reporter said no, and ran out...I don't think this would benefit him very much and from previous conversation between colonel and veera, If he wanted he could have shut up Naran forever.
What is the purpose of tanwa except for being a love interest for trin? Did they forget to let us see this man…
You word it beautifully, I feel the exact same.
Also It’s because alot of people watching it are Mileapo fans who don’t want to focus on the plot. They don’t see TrinTanwa, they only see “Mileapo” and only through that lens.
Ok Tanwa’s character is becoming so so unlikeable. I can’t even make excuses anymore…it’s ironic how he has so much trauma yet not some empathy left for his father. Now I’m starting to think he talked about his past trauma to certain people just to manipulate them to get what he wants.
Does HE know that the reason why he lives such a comfortable life is because of his father and thanks to his father’s surname.
Edit: also the ending nc feels like fan service to satisfy the Mileapo fans. It just doesn’t feel like the tension falls into place for them to act upon it.
I honestly felt like Tanwa's character stay true to himself since the beginning, he had told Trin multiple times he wanted to "go with the flow" do whatever the wind blows, or whatever it takes him etc. He has shown Trin who HE is very clearly. Trin keeps on pushing and asking for commitment, and when Tanwa once again had to remind him that they are very close and happy. Trin pulled that *pikachu face* like as if it's the first time Tanwa told him to: Go with the flow.
Either give Tanwa some time to cool off, get to know each other a little more before jumping into anything serious. Because it looks like it's Tanwa anxiety and trauma every time Trin tried to do anything too serious.
It's been 24 hours since I saw the latest episode, and I still can't get over that they made LertRan a vers couple!…
I thought the triangle is cute lol maybe Tanwa would realized what he lost after seeing Trin and Victor. Than would chase Trin back? Sounds toxic but I kind of see it.
I think it is only realistic that there will be several layers of the same person...so I am not at all surprised…
How exactly did Victor “put his morals on the back burner for someone who makes him feel special”. He didn’t give up his beliefs for Trin, he cooked for him and worked out ( how does any of that link to his morals). God forbid a young college guy work out and have a crush on someone in school.
I think you are implying too much of ur own opinions and life into this. My dad is 12 years older than my mom, and they are still happily married to this day, together for over 20 years. Maybe ur life experience made u feel different But imo Victor is just having a little crush, it’s normal.
Also, Trin should be the one that make the boundaries or reject him. His character is very straight forward( from his conversation with others), so I’m pretty sure he would reject Victor head on if necessary.
Androgynous is an appearance not a sexuality. It has nothing linked to LGBTQ : It describes a person's appearance or expression of gender that blurs the lines between masculine and feminine.
I am really asking this. Why skip parts of a serie like this? Like for real
See I disagree, " there are alot of different hippies" geesh, and you asked me why I skip the political part of the show when you can't even take the political parts seriously? I hope you at least took some basic history class when you were in high school.
Pond was in an interview 1 month ago asked about what inspired him to start Shine Series project, and he talked about he chose this time period and it was inspired by the 1969 gay liberation movement in New York, so he incorporated western 70s fashion/politics/gay relationships into this show. Hippies in 70s are anti-consumerism/anti-culture/utopian idealism/anti-war groups, they are very complex and interesting character that could have been incorporated into the show through Tanwa. And they miss the mark as of now.
Source: ep 3 Tanwa said he’s still taking a degree in Philosophy
But I do agree on your take on Lert and Naran

So like Apo said, its not over yet. Ironically some fans started attacking Apo for saying that…weird:
