Maybe I ask because I’m not picky in that sense, a beautiful cinematography is appreciated and makes me rated better. I didn’t think this was the worst and yes the beautiful scenery helped it so much more. But just dropping it because it didn’t have movie quality seem a bit too much for me. But hey we all can drop or watch anything we want as it is our personal choice. I think the story can break or make a drama, you can have the best actors and character development even cinematography but if the story isn’t going nowhere or is messy viewers won’t feel satisfied. And that is why I say cinematography is like an added plus.

I agree! he acts all mighty and say I’m a king well act like one. He is only been caged and slaved. A real king would of found a solution build an army with slaves that want revenge or Look for ppl that want the same as you. But he is more like a bum.
I have never understood why the daughters or sons have to pay for what a parent did. If you are evil like them yes but if the kids have nothing to do with it why??
Also the Muru family was just doing what they were told to do. And the king and others in his council think that what they are doing is for the worlds safety and good. Was it right? Maybe not maybe jail time also they gave them a chance for the kids and wives to run away but the didn’t want to.

The only time I like his story was when he meet his wife. Because she was very bold, he looked in love and he finally found a bit of happiness. The princess is a brat I don’t like her, she has been treating him bad since she bought him. And now he is all like your going to be mine dude your wife just died. They don’t really show a time line so we don’t know if is recent or not but I assume is recent. His wife and father in law have been the only faithful ones to him and really loved him. His ex clan members betrayed him, the princess treats him badly.
And like others say he is very cocky but does nothing. Up to episode 40 he has only been caged and enslaved, make a movement, gather a army of slaves.

Hahah I agree! I also don’t like the Sheng story. I won’t give spoilers because I been watching it raw up too episode 40.

Why are people so picky?!
The story is not bad at all at least till episode two that is out. I prefer a good story than the cinematography being all nice and the story sucks. We do get those gems that have that quality of cinematography example goblin, tribes and empires, the kings woman (most recent ones) and the story is good and entertaining.
But people should give it a try.

I think it should go in another category, because you know he was kind of cruel with her. And not a lot of cute moments between them. But he was adorable in the YouTube special

Yeah and it’s only Sheng story. Now I have watched more episodes even tho they are Raw I’m still liking it. I’m around episode 40

I happen to have a curse hahahah the second leads curse. I love Yuan chun more than the lead girl. Her love for that ungrateful hot man was never changing. Yes the lead girl was badass but her mind changed so much she wanted revenge on those man that mistreated her sisters killed her brother and almost killed her at the beginning and she ended up loving one and being the faithful dog to the other. Even if he didn’t shot any of the girls he could of done something to stop the other guys.
Even after all Yuan Chun did and passed thru he only thought of his love for the lead girl. She was used by her father, raped , she crawled for his love and only ones I think he thought about her when she was about to kill him. And not even once he thought the only one that really loved me and never betrayed me was her. I wouldn’t mind that if there is second season she becomes evil. I would applauded it, i wish she is not in love with him if her character is added again to second season.

Because of the magic and powers used I don't watch. And because I don't watch them I wouldnt remember the names of the dramas I saw In previews. I try watching some but the over use of magic, fairy like girl she with powers and sorceress made me stop watching them. Sorry but I can't stand the over the top flying and stuff. I think the only historical one I have watch Is this one and the second version of eternal love because they had just a bit of magic use. If you know Chinese historical dramas with no use of magic or no use of it please let me know.

Just yesterday did a see a video of this on dramafever Facebook, I tagged my friend who is Chinese because she is always looking for new Chinese dramas to see. But like me she is picky on how much fantasy those the Chinese drama has. I start watching today at 9 am and I just finish with episode 16 I just wish I had waited until it had more episodes out because for the first time I'm obsessed with a Chinese drama.
in my opinion on the 16 episode the magic is minimal. I don't like the whole flying thing and powers when they fight in other fantasy dramas and that why I don't watch chinese dramas that aren't modern genre.
I love Han jiang story and romance.
I was enjoying He Yen story but the whole meeting the girl on his tribe and her messing with her marriage is kind of making stop liking it.

Too much magic? Compare to other Chinese dramas this has just a bit . I mean on the 16 episodes I seen. Also this comes from a girl that won't watch Chinese dramas because they have to much fantasy and special effects.
I think only the prince that Is half human and his mom had shown that side of magic. Oh the girl in the globe thingy and that bad guy with the snake cane. But is only their story that shows magic but not like the whole episodes they are in .
He Ye story hasn't shown any and also Han Jiang didn't show.

Like they were in a hurry to finish, like when they finish a drama because they had to cut episodes. They tried to make their love seem greater than it showed all those episodes when they were teens. It felt more like a crush than love. I mean for both to be waiting for each other all those years. The only romance I felt between them Was the kiss and his letter.
