I’m American too. Never said it was normal or common. Oddsare said in their comment that Arthit calling his parents by their first names seems like something you’d see in a more open American family. I was simply stating that that’s literally how it’s explained in the novel, that he grew up in America and is half American and that’s why he calls them by their first names.
