I don't understand what you're referring too when you said 5yrs; five yrs of what?? And what censorship, it isn't…
All cdrama's have to go through censorship. It's not just BL or bromance that gets censored. Many other topics and content also gets censored too. In this case, if it's too dark, graphic or has something that's seen as controversial. 2 episodes worth of content in TTW ended up cut after going through censorship.
Korean version is based on only 1 book out of the 4 that's why
it may be divided into two seasons, in which case we will have to wait (just like Lost You Forever and Flourished Peony) Or, if they cut enough it will be reduced to 40 episodes. (as some other dramas have) It depends on what they decided. Considering how long it has been shelved they may not want to risk something else happening that stops the second part from airing.

This drama was filmed 5 years ago. (2019-2020). The original male lead, Kris Wu, is now in prison for rape. (he also had issues regarding tax evasion) That is why the drama has never been released.
Maybe last year or the year before they decided to refilm some stuff (and I assume use some degree of AI face swapping?) using Peng Guan Ying. Now it's possible some things have been cut out too, especially as now there are stricter regulations on drama length than when it was filmed. (60 episode dramas now can't air in one go, but have to be split into parts that air at separate times)
Eh, speak for yourself. I often love evil women. They're awesome. π and sure, a pretty face is certainly fun…
I think of the it the same way I would a male character. It boils down to writing and acting. If that is done well, an evil female character can be just as interesting, and fun to watch and like as an evil male.
But I get what you mean about how these second female leads often suffered poor writing and were not fleshed out the same as the male characters. It still happens and it is frustrating. But it's good that it's beginning to change too.
Just for fun, imagine if a less handsome actor were cast as Tian Ming. The hate heβs been getting would multiply…
Eh, speak for yourself. I often love evil women. They're awesome. π
and sure, a pretty face is certainly fun when it comes to any character. But it's not all about looks. There have been plenty of gorgeous male actors that have played morally grey or evil second male leads and I've felt absolutely nothing for them and sometimes flat out disliked them. So it depends on how they are written and how the actor portrays them. Poor writing and a lesser actor would not evoke the same response.
But her character didn't love Tan Tai Jin from the beginning because this was the man who would destroy the world. Her "betrayals" were understandable because she was trying to save that world. And her falling in love with TTJ at the same time as this was far more interesting and moving because of it. Because of where it started and her conflict. It's not like TTJ was a saint either. Sorry for the little rant but Li Susu (&TTJ) was such a good character and it still frustrates me how misunderstood she can be sometimes. π
Though she cared about him (non romantically) I also never felt she was more attached to the 2nd male lead. They barely shared any scenes.
In terms of other dramas where she does love fom the get go - One and Only and Forever and ever! β€ And I suppose it can be argued she always had feelings for the ML despite the rivalry in Love is Sweet too.
This is often the case in cdrama. Bts is almost always better because its not edited. Its very annoying sometimes!!…
Possibly! It depends on the xianxia too. Some are more lighthearted and some are darker and more serious. Sokp is considered an idol drama like xianxias are. So i dont really know the exact reasons for these choices haha.
ive seen some very tame and censored kissing in some quite serious dramas that are definitely aimed at adults. So basically i've given up trying to figure out why some dramas choose to heavily censor and some don't π
This is often the case in cdrama. Bts is almost always better because its not edited. Its very annoying sometimes!!…
Different genre too. If you see this directors other Xianxia's the kisses have been quite tame in them.
Though you could definitely see zhu rui bin's style in how he edited the kiss scenes in sokp too. Large lighting that partly obscures, weird angles etc. Just not to the degree here.
tteotm and love and redemption had some reasonably spicy scenes so its not impossible for xianxia even if its edited down. And we haven't got all of the kiss scenes for this yet, so lets wait and see!
Why is it that their behind-the-scenes show more intense kissing but the ones in the drama seem more like censored…
This is often the case in cdrama. Bts is almost always better because its not edited. Its very annoying sometimes!! haha Like, while the kisses were great in till the end of the moon, if you go back at watch the bts it was longer and more passionate there too.
I think in the case of this drama its partly censorship reasons and partly the directors choice and style of editing.
I'm still trying to figure C drama out but why are they voice actors what happened to the main actor voices. Can…
Lots of different accents and lots of different dialects. Dubbing with voice actors makes it so everything is in standard Mandarin like has already been mentioned. But also sometimes they feel as though an actors real voice doesn't match the character, and sometimes the actors line delivery just isn't the best.
More and more actors who are able to are starting to dub themselves though.
I just realize this is the only Xianxia drama that has many kissing scenes (I could be wrong) but from all xianxia…
Till the end of the moon had a lot if I remember, for a Xianxia. There was one in the second episode. I think all up I remember something like 8 or 9, including the love scenes. Hopefully we get some more good ones like that in the second half here too
I heard The Blossoming Love also has some quite early and some good skinship.
I noticed that he is thinner than before, but my friend said that he was doing some concerts around the time he…
Hes only had one concert and that was this month. This was filmed April-August last year. That being said I think he looks hot regardless.
And if anything, in the latter half of last year and this year he has put on weight and is looking fit. He wore tight shirts in and out of makeup for Shui Long Yin and you could see his abs.
Two women can have chemistry so I don't see why that would impact onscreen chemistry. But also, I don't really…
I loved his look in TTEOTM, I thought he looked gorgeous (The acting made it sexier. It's my favorite drama of his) But everyone is going to have have different preferences. I think the filters and makeup could have been handled better π. But it made sense for his character to be pale in that.
The filter I have a problem with in this is that sometimes there is a slight fuzziness to it. (in some scenes.)But not uncommon with C-Drama. It's only sometimes and it doesn't bother me too much. Other times you can see skin texture just fine.
and yeah I agree about Love is Sweet too. Can't deny those scenes were hot!
Is it just me...the male protagonist is too thin and his face is too white, so it gives off a slightly feminine…

But also, I don't really agree. While Luo Yunxi is thin, he's very attractive in my opinion. He's beautiful. I'd fall for him in a heartbeat too probably. I relate to any woman who falls for him in a drama. His mannerisms make him more attractive. There is a bit of an unnecessary C-drama filter in some scenes, but I can look past it. I do think that the top knot hairstyle is maybe not the most flattering on him though. (tbf I feel this way about most actors in this hairstyle) He looks better with the long wigs he has in his other costume dramas or modern hairstyles. I think he has a sexy voice as well.
Still, a very stunning man. I feel the chemistry is fine between them. It's very cute, though maybe not "hot" (at least not yet)
I watched this years ago and enjoyed it. It was such a pleasant surprise to me at the time. A romance and chemistry that actually felt natural in a sea of similar dramas that I found lukewarm. But it's been years since I last watched it. I needed something light, so I decided to put it on again recently to cheer myself up on a whim. I still love it. It's warm, funny and genuinely touching in places. There is some parts of the story that are weak and are a bit silly, but the romance itself still elevates it for me. I like the characters, I like their relationships and dynamics with each other. The only character I could do without is the SFL, Xu Li who can be annoying.
The director explained it was his choice along with the screenwriter's for them not to kiss until well into the…
I would definitely agree with you that most dramas are technically pg-13 but I'm guessing (I could be wrong about this of course) that the OP simply meant that they were looking for a more realistic portrayal of romantic interaction for the characters age group, which is far more appealing. The more realistic interactions (even if it is still tame in comparison to other media) do exist in dramas. Even in some of the more fluffy and idealistic dramas. So I guess how it was depicted in this drama is not for them and this was simply an expression of that opinion. This is a fair enough criticism in general. Just like it is also completely fair to be 100% satisfied with how it was shown on screen. different strokes for different folks
I definitely do agree that it can't all be blamed on Zhang Ruo Nan though. The script and director and CXX and a whole range of things would also have impacted those decisions not only her. But for people who have watched her other dramas, it is a pattern with her kissing and romantic scenes in general and I guess some people are starting to feel like it's not something she's comfortable with at all. (as i said, this is definitely not the worst I've seen. definitely not as awkward.)

There are more and more decent kiss scenes in dramas these days (and depictions of romance on a whole). Some of the same production level as this drama and some in even bigger productions than this one. It can sometimes be a matter of what the actors and actresses feel comfortable with. I like Zhang Ruo Nan. She's cute and a decent actress but she never looks entirely comfortable with kissing in any of the dramas I've seen her in. The worst was in Love is Panacea with Luo Yunxi. I've seen him deliver amazing kissing scenes in other dramas (and romance in general), but she was like a brick wall. I'm not sure you could even call it kissing. It was beyond awkward to watch. I don't think the kisses in this one are nearly as bad or as awkward as that and there is effort with some it at least. But I still get what the op is saying.
I'm not goint go give up my hope until I see official statement... They would give us officials statement if it…
I don't think they would give an official statement. There are heaps of dramas that have never aired and were shelved, for various reasons, and no official statements were ever given. There was one that was shelved six years ago and still there's been nothing...
With this one everyone already kind of knows why already. So there is no reason to announce it. Maybe they still had hope for it at some point, if bans were loosened or whatever. but the more time that passes the less likely it is.
We'll have to wait and see.
