In my country, teachers will punish us severely if that happens, also the authority will call the parents and that can be shameful to the student. Our parents teach us to be obedient to the teachers. So we can't act that way so that our parents can be proud of us , not ashamed of us !!
Apart from China , I have never seen students behaving like that even in Thai , Korean or in Japanese dramas, not even in western shows !!

I'm a college student but in college or even in school I've never dared to sleep while the teacher or professor is present in the class. It's indeed disrespectful. Both my parents are teachers so I know how to deal with those ill mannered students.
