I'd like to re-share my point of view about The Spirealm
First of all, all of my explanations are based on my understanding after watching it for many many times.
Everyone who got in touch with the game, even only logging in without even playing it will be sucked into the door world for the first time.
On the 1st door, the delivery man was shocked because he was going into the restaurant but ended up in the snow village. It was also shown on the further doors, all newcomers would experience the same thing.
Apart from Ruan Lanzhu, everyone else is not NPC.
They 'touched' the game on the real world, then got sucked into the door world, and would be staying inside the game world until they conquer all of the doors without them realising it.
When Jiushi met them for the first time, LDY had become BaiLu leader, Chen Fei and others had joined Obsidian, and Tan Zaozao had become actress, so their initial profession before 'touching' the game were never really mentioned.
All the players were 'detained' inside the game world [without them realising it] until they could clear all of the doors alive or dead.
That is why the code name for the prototype of this game is called 'The Spiritual Realm' because once you played it, you will be staying in that spiritual world [the game world] until you successfully finished all levels in the game.
The game was created by Gao Dawei to fulfil their childhood dream of having a realm [a world] that they could get a happy family, so everything was made based on their childhood experiences, memories, etc.
Basically the game was made exactly like the real world because of those reasons.
That is why nobody realised that they actually stayed inside the game world until the game was completely restored by Ling Jiushi and Ruan Lanzhu.
=========================== Viewers' understanding about this series are vary.
Many think that everything is only Jiushi's dream while he was in a coma.
As for me, I take it as what I have explained above.
Putting aside the censorship, this series is basically about the journey in a survival game which is in-line with the genre [the unlimited flow genre]
There's no deviation of plot from beginning to the end.
The ending is really the best closure for LJS. He could fulfil his childhood for having a loving family [Obsidian]
He could keep his promises to his friends [living together happily]
He could reunite with RLZ. The only place where a human and an NPC can be together is inside the Spiritual Realm.
That is why although it is really bittersweet [because LJS spent 50 years to create the Spiritual Realm], I can understand why the ending was made that way.
I see it as this - LJS was really in the game, but once it was purified it deleted all data. LJS knew the names…
Welcome to the club. Not many people got this kind point of view.
Many believe all events were Jiushi's dream while he was in a coma and feel the ending is sad.
I personally have similar point of view with you, and I can accept the ending although it's very bittersweet, because it is really in line with the whole story from beginning. 😊🌻👌🏼
Rewatch : Medical Examiner Dr. Qin
Losing count on how many times I have watched The Spirealm. 🌻
Thank you ✌🏻
This is really not a comatose dream.
It is indeed bittersweet because of the 50 years spent but in the end Ling Jiushi got to be happy with his Obsidian family and Ruan Lanzhu.
So... Ling Jiushi and Ruan Lanzhu eventually got their happy ending.
😊🌻👌🏼
I'm quite satisfied with the ending because it would have been weird if they ended it in a different way.

On the contrary, the ending is the best closure for LJS and RLZ, one is a programmer and one is NPC.
That is why they made the ending that way.
The ending is really a closure for Jiushi.
He could fulfil his childhood dream, having his own beloved family [Obsidian]
He could fulfil his promises to his friends
He could finally reunite with his soulmate and loved ones.
So, the ending is actually not sad. What makes it bittersweet is because he had to spend 50 years to re-create Ling Jing.
The real world, the game world and the world inside the door.
I can't believe someone actually has the same thought like me.
Thank you 😊🌻👌🏼
In my point of view, there are 3 paralel worlds, more complicated than yours 😅
Many believe all events were Jiushi's dream while he was in a coma and feel the ending is sad.
