Can someone tell me how this one got leaked, with details please ?
It was actually a bold act of iqiyi to directly broadcast all 78 episodes since they had got the license before, but then the license was revoked and eventually got banned after the govt got some reports about this series.
Long story short, they finally got the permission to re-broadcast it but only on the international platforms while it is still banned for donestic broadcast and promotions or whatsoever.
The main reason for this ban is because it is danmei adaptation.
I don't understand why this show has been censored in China. I don't care what I'm reading in the comment section.…
It is banned because it is adapted from danmei that disliked by the govt.
The novel itself has a mild BL content because mainly focus on the journey through the 12 doors.
The series itself was made much milder than the novel in a hope that it can pass the censorship check by the govt.
Unfortunately, It only regained the pass for few days and got banned for the domestic broadcast, even the main casts are not allowed to talk too much about the series and not interact in public domain.
The only good thing is that the crew is allowed to sell the broadcast right internationally so that it can be broadcast in some online platforms.
If I may state my personal opinion, Chinese bromance dramas, whether it is danmei adaptation or not, is much more memorable than any bromance/BL series that made by other countries.
Am I the only one who feels like the story doesnβt make sense at all. Can someone explain please? I am currently…
Allow me to answer your questions :
1. Each door has different scene and theme, but basically divided into 4 categories : Qinglong, Baihu, Zhuque, Xuanwu [Qinglong is the lowest level]
Each category focuses on different level of difficulties.
So, although the player has gone through 10 doors like Ruan Lanzhu, it doesn't mean that he had gone through all of the door settings.
Just like mentioned at the first door, there were new players that just entered the door for the first time, while some others have entered for the second or third time.
Simply put, player A's first door might be player B's second or third door.
[Ruan Lanzhu explained about the door setting after they left the first door, on the scene when Lanzhu ate a bowl of noodle made by Jiushi.]
2. If you noticed, some players were trying to play safe only to survive alive, they didn't bother to find the key by themselves, just waiting others to find the key and open the door, so they just could walk along leaving the door.
While others really worked hard to find the key to leave the door as soon as possible.
2. Ruan Baijie is the name used by Lanzhu inside the door. [before finally using the Zhu Meng's name]
In the novel was stated that he would disguise himself as a woman, thus the name is Ruan Baijie.
While in the series, they only showed a photo of Lanzhu wearing woman's dress that was owned by Li Dongyuan. [It's part of the scenes on the 3rd door]
The initial production was showing this crossdressing setting on the series as well, but then it was removed due to censorship
Hmmm... Enjoying the show so far but currently on episode 9 (of Viki count so episode 18 based on the original…
His personality would improve later.
He trusted people easily and always treated them kindly. He thought that people would treat him just like the way he treated him, presumably because he didn't have any good friends except for Gao Dawei and Wu Qi.
Perhaps this personality was due to his childhood experience.
But, at some points, I do agree that sometimes his naivety is a bit annoying.
As for the kaleidoscope, it should have been one of the hints that left for him to remind him about his childhood friend [Gao Dawei]
He brought the kaleidoscope, then was taken by the girl and he was reluctant to take it back due to his awkwardness and soon forgot about it.
Sometimes his mind was too simple and complicated at the same time which makes us the viewers can't help to sigh.. 'What the hell man, why can't you be more assetivt towards that person?' [At least that's what I thought while watching that door arc.]
I've been trying distracted myself and let go of my obsession for this series.
I tried to watch other series [but could only watch one] and read countless books but still...
Ruan Lanzhu and Ling Jiushi keep appearing on my mind again and again...
If there was examination about this series, I believe I would have gotten A+
Loving this series so much. It's worth my painstaking effort to do the fan sub, worth my expensive internet bill, and worth my time spent to keep watching it all over again.
HELP!, I'm currently watching Spirealm and I have a question that I hope someone can clarify. In the series, it's…
1. After passing the first door, because LJS helped to solve the chief leader's family problem, he made the first door disappear and all doors setting was re-shuffled [RLZ explained this after the first door and when they just entered the second door]
2. Each player will enter the doors but in a random time and setting. For example, player A first door might be in different setting from Player B's first door. Player A's first door might be player B's second or third door.
[On the first and second door, when each player introduced themselves, some were newcomers, while others were not.]
3. As for RLZ's experience who had crossed 10 doors, there is explanation for it, but it contains spoilers of the further episodes.
Because it is danmei adaptation which was made much milder than what is stated in the novel.
I think the bromance tag is somewhat appropriate.

Sorry for the late reply.. ππ»ππΌ
Despite the dull and creepiness, this can be said as my favourite door.

Sorry if it contains spoiler, but actually it's my conclusion after having watched it until that door arc.

That frame only worked if it was projected directly to the person.
The mechanism is a bit different from the paintings, but the effect is the same, trapping the person inside the painting and resulted in death.

1. The majority opinion is that the whole journey is just Ling Jiushi's dream during his comatose state after getting into car accident.
2. The minority opinion is that this whole thing really happened inside the game world as it is stated as unlimited flow genre [survival journey]
So, to answer your question, based on my personal understanding, it is not a dream. [I'm part of the minority]
There are many clues and hints that showed it is not a dream at all.
Thank you.
