Okay I'm about to RANT.

In the first few episodes, it had me completely HOOKED. It was so strange because as soon as it starts you jump straight into the story, and everything that's shown is explained as you continue watching. It was a bit overwhelming trying to understand everything that was happening, but you would want to continue watching because it's hilarious. I liked most things about it but there were a LOT of small problems that have become a bigger issue for me. The problems really only lie in the middle to last few episodes.

Okay here are the spoilers, in I think the middle episodes the second lead is accused of something extremely atrocious and it really had me questioning life. I hate those sayings "They're not that type of person, they would never do something so horrible!" because anyone could do anything. And sayings like those are heard often in this show, which is just a huge issue on its own because it's always the one you don't expect. But that's not my problem with the show, that's just something that was bothering me and I needed to rant about it.

My real problems with this show is the ending. It seems like the writers were reaching so hard for a "sad" ending. The ending made no sense at all to me. Okay so ML ends up doing something completely unnecessary and ends getting punished for it?!? It made no sense, they had everything they needed to punish the antagonist but he just went off the rail. They make it seem like a human's life span is forever. The antagonist and everyone else eventually dies so I just CANNOT wrap my head around why he did that. IT WAS JUST SO UNNECESSARY. LIKE WHAT?????

*Another huge but small problem I have with this show is that everyone who deserves to rot in prison, dies before receiving their punishment, like literally EVERYONE. *

In this show they view life like it's the most important thing ever, even though they know that there's an afterlife...? I have a different view on life's value than others, so I know others may disagree. I do believe that life is valuable, but I'm also extremely aware that no one can live forever, and everyone in this show is aware of that too, they even know that there is an afterlife. I just, I can't, I quit, the ending was just so dumb. I was going to continue ranting but I just can't. All I will say is that it's a good watch until the ending. That's it.

8/10, a review by characters and relationships.

To start, the leads Ming Yi and Ji Bo Zai:
I loved them at the start, them acting like a really annoying affectionate couple in public was taking me outtttt. As for when they really fell in love, that line that Bo Zai said to Ming Yi so that she'd stop lying to him will never leave my mind. "Being honest is actually not that hard." 😂😂😂 But they broke up and got back together too much for me, I think they take the cake for most breakups in a single historical C-Drama that I've ever seen.

Situ Ling and Fu Yue:
I really liked Situ Ling at first, he was actually my favorite character but then they gave him that Daenerys Targaryen storyline (which I did see coming) and he lost me there. As for Fu Yue, she was out of her mind staying beside him after he said "Her life is above mine." Who in they're right mind would stick beside a man that they like after he said that bs about another woman?!?!? I'm glad that she eventually left him though, even if it took 30 episodes.

Princess Tian Xi and Yan Xiao:
I LOVED Tian Xi, she was doing everything in her power to get things done, even though her power was limited. I think she would make a great protagonist, but her love interest would have to be literally anyone other than Yan Xiao. I hated him more than I hated the antagonists of this drama because of how he would talk to Tian Xi, oooooh was I satisfied when Yang Qiu punched him!! I wanted to beat his behind every time he even looked at Tian Xi, I can't curse on here but **** Yan Xiao! Tian Xi deserves better!!!

Bu Xiu and Er Shi Qi:
I seen the look in Bu Xiu's eyes when he looked at Er Shi Qi, and the face he made when he learned that Er Shi Qi was gone. 💔💔💔 They deserved a romantic storyline but we were robbed.

General comments:
1. Ji Bo Zai's life was deadass a series of unfortunate events like omg, I'm so shocked he didn't end up just tweaking and killing everyone.
2. I was very confused with the hierarchy of the realms, how is it that Yaoguang Mountain won the tournament for seven years straight but everybody and they mama was afraid of people from Zhushui Mountain...?
3. Empress of Yaoguang Mountain was dead wrong for that entire situation, she single handedly ruined everyone involved lives. That doesn't excuse Bo Yu Lan, because you have to be an actual psychopath to take your anger out on a newborn baby like that.

Literally amazing, I loved every second of it. I'm in love with apocalyptic stories, so this was perfect for me. I'm sad that there are so little episodes! I highly recommend watching this, or at least reading the webtoon!!!

Going into details (without spoilers):

- The acting was really good, I forgot I was watching television, though there were a few unnoticeable mistakes. (I'm a huge fan of Lee Do-hyun which is part of why I finished this show in a few hours).

- Loved the OST, it had an 'imagine dragons' song on it, which was perfect because they're music always sound like something made for an apocalypse.

- The plot either gets you really attached or thrown off completely, for me it was so interesting so I got hooked, the general idea I got from this show was to not judge anyone by how they look. The characters were usually nothing as they seemed.

- The CG's were pretty great, though noticeable for a few of the monsters.

- In case you are afraid, because you get frightened easily, watch it but with your pillow, teddy bear, or a partner. Personally it wasn't scary at all it just had you in suspense, or on the edge of your seat.

- Please support this show, it's great and everyone worked hard and did their best on it!
