I get where the plot is headed but I am not feeling it. Maybe it is the casting…lack of chemistry for lack of better words. But hey! The focus is not about the romance anyway. They are cute. That being said, I find the flashback of the older generation’s unrequited love very romantic.

The FL is alright but I can’t help but to think how this will look like if played by Zhao Lusi. The dynamics between the lead characters remind me of Love Better Than Immortality. 💕

Curious if Zhao Lusi did any promo for this show? Saw 1st ML, FL and even 2nd ML together in promo events lots but not 2nd FL.

I get that Wei Shuyu is a traditional man who wants to be first loyal to his family and be true to his heart but man...can he be any more useless. This is personal between him and the writer...

Fast forward another speedy 6 episodes, Leyan already had the audacity to hold Haodu’s big head in bright day light with the whole town out to watch, dripping her tears all over his forehead that he couldn’t even open his eyes. Let’s recognize at this point we are merely at 86% of the entire series with another long way to go to the grand finale where everyone lives happily ever after. Kids live their lives in the fast lane. What are they going to do to fill the stories in between? Have them actually talk about their feelings? Sigh...

But wait! Let’s not forget things got hot and heavy from that point on between Haodu and Leyan...

Well.. it is to protect the two male leads’ modesty. Obviously.

Th heroism of these two dudes leaves Wei the only one unworthy of being the son-in-law of Tang. ?

I hope the screen writers build a bit emotional development for that transition, you know, loving one dude all her life and then boom he is just a brother figure let’s move on to this one who won the stage fight for me. Hope Leyan actually fell in love with Haodu and not just accept him as some kind of appreciation. What a pity that will be...

Are you talking about the embrace and what may looked like a forehead kiss between Haodu and Leyan after Haodu was beaten to a pulp? Somewhere in 42/43. An actual kiss? Probably never. This show seems to be very child proof for that nonsense, you know...
