In ep 26, I think the camera man forgot to close the prison door behind him after taking a side profile of the sisters looking at each other through the bars. YQY was able to step right in. 🙃
I guess he's gonna realize that 500 years later when he sees her and still they won't talk about it ..lol
He spent 500 years looking for YXW’s soul, hoping to bring her back to life. The first time he met LSS, he thought her body was a good host for the soul he was looking for, without realizing LSS and YXW were two the same (they looked nothing alike). It only clicked when he saw LSS’s past memory as YXW, knowing it was from LSS’s “past” and not her “past life”. Let’s see how the drama pan this one out.
When she put nails in him does he know why she betray him
I am curious how it will pan out in the drama but in the book, no. He asked her why, and she responded that it had always been her mission to kill him, which would seem to be plausible, especially under the circumstances: YBC set YXW up, making it looked like an elite army used to be commanded by XL was trying to kill TTJ and support YXW. When they were ambushed, TTJ used his own body to shield YXW, and his strong emotions evoked the formation of the final nails. YXW wasted no time to send the nails into his heart, while he was still holding her.
Then, at the tower, she told him that "I will take your evil bone, in exchange I give you my, for lack of better translation, immortal marrow. You and I will no longer owe each other anything." He couldn't understand a thing on the spot, but he learned in the years followed. When they met again 500 years later, at one point, he told her that he listened to her, and that as she wished he did not turn evil.
It is a loose adaptation, the premise of the story is intact. I think it will be a bittersweet BE, just because…
I would love to see a super HE. 40 episodes don’t do justice to the complexity of the plots in the novel, not to forget there is another dream sequence in the immortal arc on top of everything else! There is not enough airing time to fit it all in. I was mentally exhausted after the BE, and their simple ways of life and the simple ways of love in HE was a true relief, free of all the misunderstandings and meddling - for once he actual spoke up and spoke of things true to his heart.
The drama has been very clever with its ways, borrowing many of the elements from the original and make them its own. I will watch it either HE or BE.
IDK if this has been asked before, but is xiao lin the previous/past life of gongye jiwu? (in the novel)
I don’t think it was explicitly spelled out, but it was implied throughout the novel.
The first time YXW saw XL, she was stunned to find him looking exactly like GYJW. Given the circumstances, she thought to herself that the cross the distance of time, meeting an old friend, only to find once her older disciple, who used to spoil her rotten, was now someone else’s protective brother.
The first time TTJ saw GYJW, seeing him looking exactly the same as XL, his heart sank with icy coldness and insane jealousy. He recalled how YXW admired the one and only XL 500 years ago, and he saw that her smile and tears were still preserved for him 500 years later. At that moment, he felt he was “a joke in someone else’s love affair.”
Hi, guys can i ask you something? If someone read the novel do you perhaps know if it's following it? If so do…
It is a loose adaptation, the premise of the story is intact. I think it will be a bittersweet BE, just because I watched a partial clip of an interview, in which bai lu described a sequence of scenes, only some of which resembled the BE. What got me was that she kept on saying “the very end”. But then I didn’t get to watch the full interview, so take it with a grain of salt. I am setting you up for success. Hope the show surprise you with a super HE, and if it doesn’t, you are prepped. 😅
There is another dream sequence in the immortal world. For your sake, I hope they take it easy on that one. 😄
Don’t cry…I am not sure they have enough airing time left to cover all that. The show used almost 25% of the airing time to cover that 5% of the novel on the first dream sequence, cleverly changed stuff up, and made it their own. It is a loose adaptation on plot and characterization.
When did they make the baby? Was it in the heaven realm or in the demon realm or before that
The last time they were getting jiggy with it was in the demon world, in the days leading up to the BE. The child character didn’t emerge until the epilogue HE, which is a continuity from where the BE left off. You do the math. 😅
Dear Novel Readers, I have a question for you: when does Li Susu start having feelings for TTJ? Asking, because…
I think it is subjective, to each their own. There were similar questions being raised...here you will find a recent thread where many people chimed in on the their take, drama and novel. Hope this link works for you:
Oh wow…someone mentioned there were different versions. I glanced through the first few paragraphs and it does have differences compared to the Chinese version. Don’t know which one is original but I kind of like it, to experience a different version, a different set of sentiments and maybe events. After all, the drama is an alternative version of the book.
In the book, she fell down a valley when she was 8 and was saved by LSS’s dying mother, who looked after her…
Oh thank you! I felt at odds when reading it so it was pretty memorable. In the book, it talked about YBC confessed everything under torture. But this was the only piece of details provided, presumably because the readers have the god’s view of everything else she did. But it is still an odd thing to confess. Makes me wonder how that interrogation went.
“Say, the lord loves you but doesn’t want to bed you. Tell us why?”
In the book, she fell down a valley when she was 8 and was saved by LSS’s dying mother, who looked after her and sent her home on a flying jade flute. On her way out of the valley, she run into LSS’s dying father, who upon recognizing the flute, asked that she help to deliver a silk brocade bag, containing the thread of love and the scale, to the valley’s owner, LSS’ mother. She saw her unfortunate fate in the scale and decided she could make better use of these things instead.
In the drama, there were speculations that she took the fox's tread of love.
Then, at the tower, she told him that "I will take your evil bone, in exchange I give you my, for lack of better translation, immortal marrow. You and I will no longer owe each other anything." He couldn't understand a thing on the spot, but he learned in the years followed.
