As someone who hates sports themselves I do love me some good sports dramas. I've realised that cdramas have a lot more sport based dramas than kdramas, but as someone who is afraid to commit to a lot of episodes I'd wish we would get more sport based kdramas.
This is officially my favorite article I've read on MDL now. Damn this was so insightful, interesting, and personal to read about but I've also never truly thought about the kinds of love. This was written really well and the layout was just chefs kiss too. Besides, I love how you talked about all kinds of shows and movies from different regions/countries and didn't limit it to only one. You also get all the bonus points for your thoughts on love alarm. I've ALWAYS felt that song kang's character was the shittiest friend ever. You don't actively pursue the girl (you don't know) but your best friend likes and definitely not if you only met the girl a second ago & have known your friend since childhood. How is that ever not a shitty thing to do? I can understand if the girl was a mutual friend BUT HE JUST SAW HER FROM A DISTANCE..... As you can see I have feelings about this, lol.
It's interesting to read all of these thoughts on villains and I really liked how you presented and discussed everything. It's also such a cool topic to talk about.
I personally don't see like the ex girlfriend in romance dramas as a huge villain more like an antagonist. I don't really think that the majority of romance dramas have real villains like the historical, mystery, action, fantasy dramas. I do think that these female antagonist are 90% of the time horribly written since they're one dimensional, "evil" for the sake of being evil, include sexist aspects etcetera. I truly think writers can and should do better with those.
I personally love a good male or female villain and honestly if they're written well (& aren't like 50 years old) it's basically a guarantee that I will find them hot as hell. Especially a good female villain, which are hard to find imo, is something I love. I do think that there are more male villains out there and that they tend to be written better than the female ones, which I don't like. Writers out there pleeeease gimme all the evil badass female villains. I'm seriously depraved of a good one.
I'm quite surprised a Korean Odyssey wasn't already on it since the poster has two umbrellas in it. Here's the link btw:https://kisskh.at/24049-hwayuki
This is seriously one of the best articles I've ever read (haha I may be super biased since I love Jung Hae In a lot). I think he's still an underappreciated actor, and I'm like hooow aren't more people stanning this man. He literally can do anything so well.
Also, HOW DARE U TO ASK ME WHAT HIS FAVORITE WORK IS! I can't choose, I honestly can't dfkifsssfv. I am however super excited about D.P. & I am really happy that it's only a month away from being released (still too far away, I NEED IT NOW LIKE YESTERDAY)
I love the mentionings of so many webdramas too. I feel like a lot of times they're overlooked. Also, you get all the bonus points for mentioning Handmade Love.
lol FL cheated too. pregnancy doesn't justifies it. and she doesn't even cares for the other guy much and just…
OMG THANK YOU! I think both were like super horrible to each other. I also thought the FL was too demanding at times since ML always had to go to her and she never went to him. She never even really thought about going to him and like you live alone too many days a week so you can take the trash out yoself too. I mean why did he always have to do it? It definitely doesn't excuse his behaviour either and it truly isn't nice if your SO is always tired, complaining, grumpy, inattentive etcetera. He kind of gave up on her and their relationship but then she did too. Tbh I don't think she was worse then him or he was worse than her. They both were just fucking shitty to each other and flirted with other people while being in a relationship already. I do think it was super sketchy that FL kind of did the same thing with the patient as with the ML but I also was like with the ML like WTF when he sort of purposed to Crystal character out of nowhere.
could you list them? i think i've only heard about 3
FYI Where your eyes linger, Mr. Heart, and Wish you were released in 2020 instead of 2021. They're still worth the watch and really enjoyable (if anyone wonders).
I would also recommend Long time no see (2017) since that's one of Korea's first BL webdramas.
Nonetheless a great list already & I'm hoping Color Rush will get another season.
Why does everyone compare anything that has anything to do with werewolves and vampires to Twilight? That's literally…
Tbh there are quite some similarities besides it being about vampires and werewolves. For instance, not only has the FL no personality like Bella she also of course not only has a vampire & a werewolf love interest but to spice things up also a human significant other. The ML is also similar to Bella (their world resolves around their SO & desperately wanna become vampires too). Also love story between human and vampire & the whole vampire has a thing for my blood plot. FL is also a hundred years old just like Edward & both for some idiot reasons are going to high school (apparently they have nothing better to do with their lives). There's a werewolf cult thingy which could be their equivalent of the volturi. Lastly, the fact that vampires can have offspring with humans is just something that should have stayed with twilight, imo.
debating on watching this... im not a fan of more reserved and/or cold like fls but the plot sounds interesting
I'm so far on episode 10 and I have to say that the fl isn't cold hearted at all. It's more the ml who is reserved and comes across as cold. The fl is quite sweet and takes care of the people around her while also bearing scars from a traumatic past & trying solve the mystery of the orphanage she's from and the mysterious deaths of people involved with that orphanage.
Beautiful article♡ So much thought and work went into this and I loved how you shared some if your favourites too. I honestly still use and think about the moon is beautiful (just regularly think about romance is a bonus book while crash landing on you has been with me for every day since it came out)
As someone who has finished this show and is quite surprised how I haven't really seen anyone talk about this. But I just wanted to put this out in the world: IF YOU'RE TRANSGENDER PLEASE DON'T WATCH THIS DRAMA! Its representation if a transgender woman is truly horrific, horrible, harmful, disgusting in so many ways. So if you're transgender or know someone who is trans and into kdramas please warn them of this show and damaging its transgender representation is. And this is also coming from someone who is part of the LGBTQ+ community. I truly don't think this drama is safe for its transgender viewers, so please skip this my lovelies
