These are some of the books I'd love to see drama adaptions of!
The Perks Of Being a Wallflower - Stephen Chbosky: I am aware that sex or drugs probably wouldn't end up being the main theme for a Korean drama, but I really want to watch something similar! This kind of plot: Caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it, Charlie must learn to navigate those wild and poignant roller-coaster days known as growing up.
Actors/actresses: Charlie: Park Bo Gum Patrick: Oh Seung Hoon Sam: IU
Undone - Cat Clarke: Jem Halliday is in love with her gay best friend. Not exactly ideal, but she's learning to live with it. I feel like this could actually be a thing. I'd also love to see something like this, because I need new plots T-T
I must admit that in the beginning I only watched it because of Nam Joo Hyuk & Gong Myung. I didn't enjoy the first couple of episodes that much, but something happened in the 5th episode! My favorite episode by far (So far, haha)! Now I'm actually excited for the next episode.
I don't know if this is an odd opinion... but I actually like how far from all the relationships in dramas are perfect, because that's how it is in real life; not everyone gets a Prince Charming! That being said, I do agree that these male leads' characters were rather toxic to the girls.
Now I'm probably really really biased with Playful Kiss being my first and one of my favorite kdramas, but I always felt like there was something more to KHJ's role, which the drama didn't show in the right way. To me he seemed slightly sociopathic, which I think is the reason why I enjoyed the drama; I focused on the mentality of Seung Jo, rather than the romance between the two.
(Great list btw, I couldn't agree more with the couples you've chosen!)
Takeru and Hyun Woo are very different actors, but both of them are doing a great job portaying the male lead. If they came together as one person, they would make the ultimate male lead for this drama, haha!
I feel like the korean version was better.. This was good, don't get me wrong, but there was just something about the korean one, which I was missing in this one ^^
