Were there a lot of differences in the ending? What did you like more? And was there more in the book about the time FY waited for YQ to return?

Me, too. I was thinking about rewatching, but it is soo long. I'll have to skip a lot. The tone was more serious there.

I agree. Would love them both in modern drama. I've enjoyed her in hidden love.
But I love her in costume dramas, but always those endings without even the couple holding hands. I don't get it.

My thoughts exactly. I was waiting for someone to at least move toward the other. Like in other dramas when they hallucinated their loved ones, they always ran to them. I found it a bit out of character. Or that's what 1000 years of waiting does to you.

I agree. Love it and I sometimes rewatch favourite episodes on netflix. First post above mebtioned Love like the galaxy, which is also not xianxia, but ML seems like more than human, lol.
I love that drama, too. And it shows ZL acting different than her usual roles. She was so good in it.

Loved the episodes today.
The last episodes really showed how to make a godlike entrance. I felt like one of the immortals being in awe while seeing the demigods appear.
I was happy when YQ captured FY. It felt like the time they both were so carefree in the past. Both of them smiling is so special.
YQ highjacking the wedding with making HY drunk was so funny, because it was so obvious.
But everything he does and says has so much foreboding. It's making me anxious. The only hope is that many people say it will have a HE.
And I hope to see more of HY and YS as a couple, not just in the end.

What I loved about today's episodes:
-Her reuniting with her friends and family (Yu). It was so heartwarming and I felt for all of them who missed her for 1000 years.
-Her investigating her own case. How she asks the right questions and goes to investigate without much to fear
-FY trying to get rid of YQ. I think he was maybe a bit happy about the rain as it showed that she still cared about the past. He knows he has to stick to her and show her his love, but only has limited time for that.
-YS waiting for HY...I mean he is that oblivious. She has to tell him straight her feelings. But I hope he tells her and shows her as soon as he realizes his feelings. I love that pair as much as the mc.

-HS being put in her place in the nether realm by YQ and AG was so satisfying. Can't wait for next episode with FY that I saw in the preview already.

Yeah, that is one of my fav. dramas. And that heaven realm was much more toxic with their rules and politics. Female villain was the worst.
And ml couldn't talk to fl, too.

I kind of had hopes for HS, when LF talked her into marrying him. It showed that she could have become a better self, if she had the person that loved her no matter what.
And he would have been there for damage control, lol.

It reminds me a bit of Back from the Brink when ML struck down FL and left her there. He was planning to come back and save her, she thought he didn't care about her and was killing her for real.
One sentence of explanation would have been enough, though.
Fans were really upset then.

He did so thinking that she won't die. And I think he had plans regarding her home. Like she thought he would kill her sister like this, but now obviously he saved her, but it's not explained yet, how he did that.
He is pretty flawed in his dealing with everyone and trying to please them. And bad to no communication with FL is the trope for most ML in xianxia drama. I just hope he has to work for it now to see her as equal in love and as a ruling queen.

Loved the first episode. PMY portrays the frail character so good and I can't wait for her transformation later on. And also what knowledge from the future she will use for her advantage.
Obviously the boss is the one her father wished for her. Or is it the other one that she knows from school and will meet again? I read that in an interview. I'm looking forward to her getting a good life and her husband and her "best" friend getting what they deserve.

Finally 2 more episodes. I love her being back and this powerful. After her past she didn't want to be queen, stay out of the politics, but the queen persuaded her that she had responsibilities, because she has the power to help others, who couldn't themselves. I hope she realizes that that is what YQ also had to fight with. Growing up he knew he will have to have the responsibilites of a true god. Even then he tried everything he could to save the woman he loved. I hope she will know soon of what he did to be able to save her.

I also liked how he finally knows the truth about the bullying incident. I'm looking forward to him telling off HS next time she mentions that again to get favours from him.

I really like how ZL plays the confident and elegant FY and then sometimes changes to Yin when she meets old friends and is genuinely happy.

I hope they reconcile before she probably has to do something to save him.

Oh, yeah I have to rewatch it again. First I thought they would make YQ go like Tantai Jin in that other drama, but he seemed to have still done most of his duties while looking for Yin. Also helping Yu hatch.
I watched the previews for the next episodes and I'm glad they are not dragging the separation.
And he is finally telling off that aunt.
And she putting certain people in their places, I love it.

I think so, too. She really shows every difference in the character well. Episode 1 really had so much story in it, quite confusing. And I'm rewatching the episodes to get all the clues. Also, a lot of foreshadowing I heard in the dialogues.

Another thing, in the nether realm she was told about YQ and what happened 1000 years ago. That was a really distorted version of what happened. Is that supposed to be the official story or something they only told her to make her biased against YQ? I don't know what the ghost king's intention was? Maybe that she would go through her tribulation without that information as additional baggage.
And I can't imagine what she learned about people and life going through 1000 years of hardship.
But the experience is what she wished for in the beginning.

I also wonder why there was no suspicion about the eagle peacock conflict. I mean YS is so obvious a righteous person that I would have asked her about that. It would have thrown more shade on the peacocks and HS especially. I felt they glossed over it a bit, once they met and befriended YS.

Sometimes I think it's so obvious with the similar names, but then it probably isn't that way in the chinese language.

I understand your hesitancy about the book spoiler, because many dramas change parts that are really hard to show or are just too dark or complicated.

I hope they'll show a good happy ending, not those told, but not shown reunions.
Or open endings.

Do you like the drama so far compared to the book? Is it worth reading the book then?

I'm just glad it wasn't episode 25 and then the long break. That would have been horrible. Imagine, pure torture...

Many liked the scene, when Feng Yin got back. Me too, but most of all I liked the Yin in the nether world, when she meets YQ, HY,YS.
It's like her personality like when she was the Phoenix. Without any attachement to them, she wouldn't accept any of their good will. She had her pride in being herself, not a memory of the one these people knew and loved.
I liked that she would rather take the hard path, leaving it to fate if she would make it. Thus, she was reborn. I can't wait to see when YQ and the others meet her for the first time.
