I agree. Female chinese actresses seems to be held at such a high bar.. They are easily criticised for every little thing. What's sad and disappointing here is most fans are female as they are mostly the ones watching the dramas. 😔😒 Meanwhile, actors need only be handsome and they are praised so much. 😅 No offense to anyone... But the comments I am addressing are not along that line. They’re comments showing disdain towards retelling this part of china’s history all together. It’s just blatant hypocrisy, not about the dosage of the propaganda.
If they’re able to maintain their neutrality while watching western movies and still view them as just history, despite how controversial and indoctrinating they are, what’s stopping them from also viewing this piece as history? why is it so scary now?

I just finished all the episodes currently aired and tbh I didn’t have much expectation for this as I don’t enjoy this type of genre (like heavily political stuff) but I watched it for lusi and I’m happy to say I was surprise. There was quite a lot of touching moments that made me tear up a bit as well as funny moments but I do have to say lusi’s character is a once again a stubborn, strong, impulsive (hope she doesn’t get hate bc of this again). I knew almost any drama with lusi I’ll enjoy, because she just has that ability same goes with the ML, I never seen him before but seeing him work with lusi, he’s quite talented and they are quite cute. Do be warn though, if you are looking for romance, this drama isn’t it, the romance is quite light, more of it is about china starting a new china and wanting to better the lives of common people and getting rid of people that refuse to start a “New China”. Lusi’s character is a little girl whose parents were killed by the “villains” in this drama and so she’s very passionate about doing something for her country. I will only be watching lusi arc but I’m sure all the other couples arc will be good too. (There was this whole thing going on the Chinese plate-form where gxt’s fans were saying lusi isn’t the same level as her and they would only be watching gxt’s arc, my bb getting hate again, but me only watching lusi arc is because I only enjoy her acting, no offence to the other actresses but I’ll give the rest a try but like I mention I’m not a fan of this genre)
