No way they showed us 10 minutes of Je Yeon and Sang Yun just making breakfast π΄. Looks like the Jimin and Jeyeon ship is sinking ππββοΈ.
Can someone help me understand who is the ruling family and why do the male lead and feng qiwu have the surname…
Okay. So I just reached an episode where they answer this exact question.
So the name 'Feng' is from the first female general, of the land of DaDong, Feng Duying. Apparently the emperor Weilie (who in this case is the ruling family you mentioned) ruler of the land of DaDong liked her and wanted her to be his empress but she rejected him. So he gave her a territory within DaDong, which was later divided into the 6 states we see. Since the territory was hers, I believe the rulers of the six states use the name 'Feng' as a way of honoring her contribution at war.
In simpler terms, the surname "Feng" is used by the rulers of the six states to honor General Feng Duying, whose territory was granted by Emperor Weilie after she declined to become empress.
I just love how Feng Ju called out their father. That man did not care about his children at all, In fact, he did not care about anyone. He still feels inferior for being the son of a maid. He always pretended to know everything but never did anything with the information he received except give punishment or reward. Such a useless father, husband, and ruler tbh.

I don't know if my assumptions are correct, but I think the 6 states are led by people from the same family, then there is a ruling state, The DaDong Empire, which heads all the rest.
So basically It's one country divided into 6 states between people from the same family.
But the fact that the princes are marrying the princesses of other states makes it incest. so I am not too sure about my theory. But then again, these types of dramas always have cousins marrying each other, so I could be correct too.
Also, YZ's amazing performance as Jin Mi when she woke up after [ redacting ] Xu Feng? Amazing. That was a girl…
Honestly though, Run Yu was good, its the adults in his life that made him like that. Also the combination of getting back his childhood memories plus the presence of Jin Mi is what amplified his underlying hatred.
I might be biased because I liked Luo Yunxi as Tantai Jin and I just can't let go ;-).

You could actually feel her hurting from the realization of what she had done and to whom. I agree that she did an amazing job of showing the difference between having the pill and not having it.
I am 7 years late to watching this because I was intimated by the number of episodes (63 is ALOT!! For me). But it turned out so gooooood. My first over 40 episodes Cdrama, that actually had me hooked from the first episode to the last. Such a beautiful love story. And the OST?? even more beautiful!!!
I have never seen a character devoted to/love someone like Phoenix to Jin Mi. From the first time he realized his feelings for her to the last!!! Run Yu too. He really loved her. Why is it that the second leads always bend over backwards for the FL, more than the ML , only to end up rejected and even worse, as the case for Run Yu, hated.
I'm right there with you with Ji Min! He's adorable and so refreshing. I don't see him with Je yeon, though...she's…
I think Je Yeon is closed off to Ji Min because she likes men who are quite and calm like Woo Jae. Introverts are often drawn to each other because their energy levels match. But she finds Ji Min interesting as well even though he is an extrovert. I hope they bring a woman of the right age for Chan Hwan too.
Oh my poor Ji Min..... I am rooting for him. He is so funny, he knows who he wants and sticks by it, and does not give mixed signals to others. But he is so boyfriend coded. He is like the light/life of the party compared to Woo Jae who gives a safe/calm, basically the feelings a man should evoke when looking for a wife (which is the essence of the show btw). Plus in the first or second episode in the confessions Ji Min said he felt like he was running out of time that's why he joined the show? I think that's the wrong reason to want to find a wife. No?
But my girl Je Yeon is a big mixed signals girl. Please pick a side or be vocal to your other potential partners that you are interested in other people. I love Ha Neul's direct approach to show interest but it's like she doesn't know when to stop. At one point it felt uncomfortable during the date with Ji Min. This is a dating show for picking your potential LIFELONG PARTNER, why are the people clinging to the one person they set their eyes on in Europe. Like go out and mingle and talk to the others too, they might be more than what meets the eye.
For a show that is focused on finding partners for marriage, it is rather too superficial. they judge you by appearance, and now that the jobs have been said, its judgement by the job/ size of the pocket.
I also have beef with the team behind the casting. Why would they allow a 40-year old man to join the show if they will not have women of equivalent age bracket to match up with him. Now he is heartbroken and the oldest woman he can approach is 11 years younger. I'd like to think they did this for the plot, because 1 + 1 is not adding to 2.
I feel like this will be another dating show where they force a couple on us and leave the rest to be supporting characters. SMH. Still rooting for Ji Min though ππβ€ Who's team Ji Min with me?
Okay, that's my 2 cents from the 5 episodes I have watched so far.
LOVE the story, LOVE the actors, LOVE the production, LOVE the music. Such a beautiful and relatable (to most if not everyone) storyline that gives a different perspectives on parent-children relationships and life in general. A masterpiece on the beauty that is life and family β€
The post production team especially the VFX crew went absolutely wild with this one. Pretty sure they even threw in effects no one asked for, just for fun.
Unfortunately, TikTok edits have already spoiled the ending for me, but Iβll still watch it to enjoy the journey leading up to it. The music is so somber. Can't help but get teary every time the OST plays.
Did I just put myself through 20 episodes of heartache again? Yes! Will I do it again in future? Yes! Oh how I LOVE moon lovers. When I first watched it, I had to find a quiet place and reflect. So much tears and love too. Such a beautiful and sad story.
