I'm re-watching this then I came across Dou Shiying (Zhao's father) and I remembered how I actually dislike him. He is the most pathetic and weak man I have ever come across in a drama. I get angry just by looking at him.
And don't even get me started on Wang Yingxue (Zhao's stepmom).
Is this a different dialect or am I tweaking? It sounds a little different from the one spoken in other dramas. I've searched but it doesn't really tell me what dialect they're using.
In a shocking turn of events, I actually find this drama very entertaining. I did not have a lot of expectations and I watched it to pass time as I wait for more episodes from Shadow Love. I fast forwarded the first 3 episodes but after that I loved it. The story of other characters is also interesting. I love the comic timing too.
I'm 7 years late to watching this, but I like that because I actually get to understand it even better in this age where AI is our actual reality.
First off, all these characters had surface level connections/relationship, except the robot and the FL. Which is ironic because you would expect the robot to have a surface level connection compared to humans who actually have emotions. The mom, the grandfather, the reporter....everybody was pissing me off. Always resorting to threats in order to get information. I don't know if that was the intention of the author, to show how as humans with emotions we actually lack the ability to feel.
There's also the issue of ethics with AI that i felt really stood out. Questions like how much is too much when we have the power of AI in our hands. Because truth be told, while there are those who would like to use AI for good, some just want to have it as a weapon.
I also feel bad for Nam Sin. Your environment really shapes you. His grandfather is just evil. Doesn't care for anybody except his company. The absence of his mom throughout his childhood, and only to find his mom has a robot that she cares about is another valid reason for him to crash out. It would have been nice if he had someone to actually make him feel loved. To reassure him. The second FL tried that but unfortunately its not what he wanted. But he was also an A.hole. His personality was just bad.
While I understand this is fiction, why would they try to make us think a robot would have emotions? Always using the term 'evolving' to show how Nam sin III is overriding initial instructions and starting to catch feelings for the FL. Showing us Nam Sin III with tears is just straight funny. Tears? π. No.
I enjoyed the show. The FL and ML have really nice eyes, and they're stunning. The ML is a really good actor to be able to show different personalities at the same time. I could feel the difference between Nam Sin and Nam Sin III. My jaw dropped during the scene where she went to the movies with Nam Sin III! I loved that.
