And yes, he didn't have to disappear even after his mother died. Leaving your boyfriend without proper closure after promising him a future together was simply not a reasonable thing to do at all.

That scene in Episode 8 left me dumbfounded. I can't understand why Yi Chen went back to find Lu Feng after all those years. He was the one who didn't want Lu Feng to find him in the first place. And now he really thought Lu Feng would welcome him with open arms after he left him to marry another woman five years ago? It was as if he thought he could come and go as he pleased just because he knew Lu Feng loved him

I agree. I see a lot of people comparing Lu Feng's family and Yi Chen's family to justify Yi Chen's choice. His father might have been homophobic and cruel to him, but his sister was there for him, and he still decided to leave his family. Also, regardless of how they treated him, they were still his family, and he never hesitated to leave behind the lap of luxury he grew up in because he believed in Yi Chen. I hope people don't downplay his decision to trust Yi Chen completely by going against the world, which is not an easy thing to do.

After watching up to episode 6, I think I can understand why Lu Feng will want revenge against Yi Chen. It was very clear that he was the one who loved more intensely in their relationship. When Yi Chen leaves him after he gave his all to be with him, I can imagine the resentment he would feel toward his lover. I already feel bad for him.
