These are just 3 examples of famous public figures that have had to be almost persecuted because of who they are.

Yes it may have been the actor in Hometown Cha-cha-cha. His name is Kim Seon-ho.

Here is the issue: SJK is a famous public figure, just like big-name politicians, famous sports people, famous CEO's etc.

They are subject to public criticism because they are in the public arena.

SJK makes money for himself, and for the industry - good for him! But being famous, that is how the ball bounces!

It would be interesting how S. Korea press looks at this. Good question Shannon.

As I said, fantasy is easy to believe - the actors play different roles and we believe that the actor is that person in that role, until another new role comes along. That is the sign of a good actor. But we don't really know the real actor and that's good too. They have their privacy.

Yes, we do mix fantasy with reality. The problem is, it is easy to believe in fantasy but we don't know what the reality is. Thanks for an interesting view point.

Wow! you met Song Joon Ki in NY for the Emmy! Wow! I'm impressed. His Italian in Vincenzo was not great for someone being raised in Italy, but as the series progressed, it got better and better. It's my first language

I looked up the names that gatalito gave and I agree, they are not Korean-born. He said I didn't do my homework but I did and couldn't find anyone that I would recognize. I too have been watching Asian series/movies for over 10 years now so I would recognize most of the well-known names.

So my idea, picking up what Joong Ki did, is why not have a new series, the romance of course, dealing with interracial relationships.
I wish I were a writer, I would love to see something like that instead of the same old tropes that have been worn thin.

From what I read, his ex-wife was not interested in big family life - and that is what he wanted. He is close to his family and that makes a difference.

Well sorry, I am not informed - and that is why I asked. Thank you for the information. I just had never read of an S. Korean actor in a serious relationship with a Caucasian.

As someone living in the US (California to be exact) there are a lot of interracial relationships here but this one surprised me. I hope it works out well for them.
