The series was actually decent for a kdrama.

Having a relationship with an older man doesn't mean he was groomed. He's legally able to have a relationship with him and was legal the first time they did anything. The man also isn't acting as if Akira can't be with Kanata. He in fact left their entire relationship up to Akira when he found out Kanata was in the picture. akira chose to stay. Akira chose to lie to Kanata. Akira chose to be with him. Doesn't make him a groomer to be with a younger man since it appears he entered his life AFTER he was a consenting age.

The age difference isn't weird outside of them portraying Akira as a student. It would be the same difference if they had him be in university and his boyfriend still working. The age difference isn't weird. It's the way people are seeing Akira as a minor when he legally in terms of sexual consent is no longer a minor

Unfortunately a 23 year old and an 18 year old can be in a relationship. Doesn't mean he groomed him. This makes it seem weird but honestly the age difference isn't that bad compared to the ones once they're adults.

I know a 17 year old girl who chased after and seduced a 45 year old man. She married him at 19. To me that was incredibly weird, but he didn't groom her. If anything she groomed him because he wasn't a man who wanted anything and is kinda with her because she's there.

Maturity comes at different ages, dating or having relations with an older male even at that age isn't taboo. It's the way people are thinking. You're thinking of it as a student and adult. Not a 4-5 year age difference between lovers.

The difference isn't that bad when you take his age out of the equation.

That was going to be my reply. Usually I can't watch dubs for that reason, because having it off even a fraction of a second just drives me bonkers (autism ADHD brain working overtime ) but in this one it actually doesn't bother me to much because I'm to into the story to care much. .....

It's not but you can always follow my rule, I've learned with Chinese dramas, if the relationship/ friendships between characters seems a bit to close, or if there's the moments where you're like" 🤔hmm" consider them to BL. Chinese dramas have been getting away with putting it in by making it "Bromance" and "just friends" and adding in a female romantic interest even when there's more chemistry with the male friend. A lot of the dramas have that which is why it became my rule lol. One of the actors for a series said once in a live "if it seems suspicious, it's intended to be" since then these "Bromance" dramas make a lot more sense lol
