Watchable

I'm not familiar with any of the actors here. Watched this just out of boredom because there was nothing else to watch from Youku anymore. Storywise, it gave me Reborn Rich vibes at the start with similar adopted son battling with other family members for inheritance/family business and then someone tries to kill him. The difference is Ma Rulong lost his memory while Song Joong Ki went back in time. Can't say much for the acting since the story didn't call for much drama. There were some frustrating parts and fillers that I actually skipped and fast-forwarded. As for romance, it was close to almost zero 😅 No chemistry between them at all! I like how both the FL and ML were smart people though except for when FL was almost scammed by a fake fengshui master.

Overall, it's something not worth rewatching but good enough if there's nothing else to do and just pass the time.

Cute but fell short

This could've been a really entertaining and nice drama, but there were some episodes which bored me and I found myself skipping the parts of ZhuZhu pursuing Dr. Zhou. Really, they were just filler episodes to be honest. Also, your head will spin with how fast the characters change their minds and their stance regarding issues they're facing. The only consistent characters were Qirang and his wife. But the main star of this drama is really QuanQuan! He is so cute and smart for a kid his age. I actually loved the kid's chemistry with his dad more than the main couple haha! Another adorable character is Hardy =) Not the usual boring assistant at all.

All in all, it's your typical romantic comedy with all the cliches, but the sudden cute and witty moments made up for some of the boring and frustrating ones.

Highly recommend it

I love JC-T, and he didn't disappoint with this one. He can do both funny and serious roles brilliantly. First time watching Wang Chu Ran as the lead and I liked her too.

The story started out quite the typical way with a lot of "chance" enounters that certainly were too unrealistic. I didn't expect much from the start. But when they started living together after breaking up their individual relationships, things became interesting. The flow of of the story and how they gradually grew on each other and helped each other was well written. I didn't expect there'd be villains among the characters around them though. There was no buildup of backstories on them. Didn't really understand why they did the things they did. Let's just say they were only put there to complicate the main leads' lives a little. Usually, the other side characters' stories are just fillers for a drama but this one didn't feel like it. I liked the second and third couples. Jun's story showed that being a mama's boy was not necessarily a bad thing. His mom was so cool and funny! She definitely stole the show for this segment. One more thing I love in this drama is the OST. The lyrics "你,你,你" definitely got stuck in my head and I'm sure it'll get stuck on yours too😁

It's a refreshing change from having a cold male lead to a cold female lead this time, In essence, Shen Xihe's body was possesed by Gu Qingzhi's spirit when she died and the two spirits merged into one, with Qingzhi being the dominant figure, essentially almost taking over Shen Xihe entirely. It definitely is creepy but I've got to give them credit for their creativity for flipping a horror angle into a love story. A lot of things don't make sense though. The story seems forced. Things happened just to make it convenient for the storyline. So you defintely have to let go of some logic in order to enjoy this drama. What made me watch this until the end was the Crown Prince's cute antics and wanting to know who poisoned him and why. Yet, when it was finally revealed, it was a bit of a disappointment. It felt like they just made up an excuse in order to get a storyline going. And the ending - it was so unexpected. He miraculously just came back without any explanation. So did Xihe know he was coming back? For sure, she should've known if there was a body in the coffin or not. It would've been better if she was in the know that he faked his death. They made it seem like she didn't know and that was just too stupid and not fitting for her character's persona.

Definitely one of the best dramas

As expected from the same writer of Coroner's Diary and Love Like the Galaxy, this one didn't fall short. I like how the female lead has a unique character. She's brave, smart and loveable. I also like that the male lead is not the typical arrogant and cold guy. No toxic love rival and no annoying characters in this drama. Even the villains (yes there's more than one) weren't all that hateful. They had a semblance of humanity and you would understand where they were coming from. At times, they were even pitiful. There are also a lot of naturally funny moments, which they brilliantly just inject unexpectedly. Really enjoyed this drama which got me hooked right from the start. Now I keep hearing the songs in my head.

A refreshing love story

I nearly dropped this after watching the 1st episode halfway because it was off to a boring start, and I'm glad I continued it! The story is unique with a lot of good lines, and I learned a lot about love and life through this drama. This drama doesn't have the usual cliches I love how mature and level-headed the characters are. This is how people in relationships should be.

Suitable for Yang Yang fans

I enjoyed this series because I'm a huge Yang Yang fan. It's all about Han Li's journey, his smartness and strategies on his way to achieving his goal of becoming an immortal. I loved his character, although he seemed like a robot at times. He doesn't have much in the way of emotions at all. It was all about his determination to reach his goal. Thus, this series doesn't draw out any emotions for viewers as well. The songs and graphics were great. The other cast members were all lackluster except for Ms. Mo. Clearly, they put Gina in the poster just for the sake of putting her there. She wasn't a main character at all. Also, she looked a lot like BB Gandanghari hahaha! The sect elders were so annoying. They didn't seem like they deserved to be called elders at all. They all acted silly and stupid. Even when there was "war" going on, there was no sense of urgency from them. There was more talking instead of actual fighting. This made the show somewhat boring as a lot of other viewers complained. The ending was a bit of a disappointment. The first half of the ending was so unexpected and too much talking again. The second half made up for it somewhat. It ends with the caption "end of season 1" so I guess there will be another season coming up. I hope they improve on it based on the reviews.

Depressing

Wanted to drop it midway through the first episode but decided to give it another chance because of all the reviews rating this as a "10." The story is depressing and though there was humor, but it didn't really make me laugh. I breezed through the episodes hoping it will all come to an end fast. Glad there were only 8 episodes as I couldn't stand any more. I actually fast forwarded through the last two episodes just wanting to see how it ended.

What a circus!

First off, let me comment on the actors. Finn Han really looks a lot like Zhang Ruoyan and is such a talented kid. Ruoruo is such a wise sister. Ruoyan's bangs make him look like an old lady 😅 Glad he ditched that hairdo at the second half. His character and personality here is very similar to Sword Snow Stride.

After finishing it, I finally understood why some people gave a low rating. If I had watched this early and there was no season 2 yet, I'd probably vent about the ending too. All the plot twists and turns amounted to nothing with the way season 1 ended. The concept seems a bit similar to the Truman Show.

So this drama is divided into two parts: the first part being in Nanqing and the second part being in Beiqi.
The first half was entertaining and what really kept it going was wanting to find out the answer to all the mysteries and why FX was being favored by the higher ups. Only the first part had some sort of romantic element, which wasn't really anything fantastic mainly because she was weak and sickly. FL didn't appear at the second half anymore, which became a bit mundane and didn't really appreciate the filler episodes just to let some of the characters show some "cuteness". I agree with a lot of the comments that FX had more chemistry with Haitang. Wonder if she'll still be in season 2. So the mysteries were unfolded in the second half and some parts made no sense, especially the parts about FX's mother. So many unanswered questions about her still. Also, Uncle Wuzhu just disappeared without any explanation too. I'd be really frustrated if I didn't know there's another season.

Not as good as they say

It's definitely better than One and Only, which I dropped, but this was painstakingly slow and you've got to have a lot of patience to finish it. I somehow found myself fastforwarding thru the last few episodes. It focused too much on the couple being lovey-dovey and cute with each other rather than detailing the other parts of the plot involving Chen's family, which led to it being confusing at some point. The more important parts like when Weixing confronted Wenzhuan by the lake, when Wenchuan visited Wenxing at the hospital, or when Jiaren pushed their relative could've been shown instead of cut off. Also the parts where Wenzhuan supposedly did evil things in Bremen were not highlighted or detailed enough to make me feel they were connected to him. There were some useless scenes like focusing on Tong Jiaren's face while slow motion walking which to me was "what's the point?" I have to say it was poorly written and executed. The part where Wenchuan took Shiyi hostage was so dumb. Like everyone had a lot of opportunities to stop him or fight with him but they didn't. Aside from BaiLu's great acting and the nice OST, everything else was mediocre.

Not impressed

Started out really great and the concept is something new for a C-drama, but it faltered halfway thru. There were some loopholes and seems to me the writers were lazy or maybe they thought the audience wouldn't mind not using their brains. It's a 2025 modern drama and yet the fiends were the only ones who used a bit of tech, which was not enough too. The hunters, being the protagonists, were sadly a group of arrogant amd complacent losers who didn't use any tech and all they did were useless ceremonies/rituals without any strategizing or even planning before they go on missions. Plus, they were not recruiting enough members at all. It was also unclear how they got all those nice cars without any source of livelihood except posing as a mountain rescue team. Jiang and Xing Chen were not good leaders, keeping secrets from their team and not discussing all things with them. Plus, Jiang had the chance to escape with YanTuo but he stupidly chose to be a captive for what? Another irritating factor is that suddenly when they went back to the gate to look for Luo, the fiends and other earth demons didn't attack, which is out of character and the writers just conveniently made it like that. For Luo to survive a sword going thru her body like that was just too fantastical too. Xing Chen was right in doing experiments and research and I felt like it would've been a more meaningful story if they had delved into it further. Locust was suddenly out of the picture and they didn't make use of that angle at all or maybe they were saving that for season 2 if there is? The question is, would I want to watch season 2? I'll have to think about it.

LIght and easy

There's nothing new in this drama, but it's light and easy. It's the classic case of poor girl meets rich boy then mother with love rival try to tear them apart. The nice thing though is how realistically it's done. There's no exaggerrated stuff. No crazy stuff. It's all so subtle. I like that both love rivals were not lunatics and accepted their fates graciously. Plus, Zhao Lu Si, as always, is such a good actress and the role fits her really well. However, the last few episodes leading to the ending were so frustrating. Suddenly, FL becomes stupid and so naive. If it were not for the mature and smart ML, this would've been a disaster. The ending saved the day and everything wrapped up well.

Good enough to watch

Not particularly a fan of Xianxia dramas. I watched this because of Bai Lu. Can't say I liked it, but didn't dislike it either. The storytelling became messy halfway through. I lost count how many times they stabbed each other, killed each other, died and came alive again. You've gotta throw all logic when watching dramas like this where some characters can die so easily while others are just too hard to kill. Siling and Dazheng looked great together as a couple but I didn't feel any emotions or felt connected to them in any way. I would still recommend it to be watched but not the best drama out there for me.

Beautiful story

I wasn't expecting much when I started watching it and even found it a bit boring at the start. I thought it was the typical medical drama with an arrogant but talented doctor who gets away with reckless behavior time and time again. Instead, it turned out not to be just about him, but about his other colleagues and patients too.

Xiaofeng, indeed, is a boring character but he is such a good person and doctor. If only all doctors could be like him, what an ideal world it would be! The actress playing Xiaoran really did a good job. She was cute and sunny without being childish and annoying. Even the actors who played patients acted really well. There's just this one guy who doesn't quite fit - Prof. Fang's boyfriend. I'm not even sure what his role really is. Is he her boyfriend or driver or assistant? He only appears when Prof. Fang needs a chauffeur. In one episode, Xiaoran mentioned that he's her mom's boyfriend, but he doesn't act like one at all and he looks younger than Prof. Fang.

For the romance department, there are two love stories. I couldn't really feel the chemistry between Xiaofeng and Chen Yue. Probably because Xiaofeng had to stay true to his character of being a "robot-like" guy, he didn't exude the impression that he really loved Chen Yue. He didn't even cry when they broke up! Plus, they didn't have any intimate scenes at all. The whole drama only had one kissing scene and it wasn't Xiaofeng and Chen Yue lol!
