This was not really haters . At the time of Go Ahead airing, SS was just getting popular after Under the Power. The initial douban score was 8.6, everyone loved the whole family dynamic storyline. The score took a sharp dip when they switched to a romance storyline. You know how it is, we all see comments where people hated that they should just stay siblings. Go ahead was very popular back then, with a lot of discussions, so everyone is entitled to their opinions and not just the haters.

It's become the norm, and TSY's Chinese fans know it too well. They recently attacked her weibo reply to a fan. It was taken out of context. She jokingly corrected the fan that TUS was a xuanhuan and not xianxia. They ran with that she was reprimanding the fan, that she does not care for xianxia, blah blah. Sheesh, they scooped so low as to go on her Weibo page. I do believe that capital do not like to see self employed artists succeed, cause it does not set a good example for managed artists. Capital likes to keep artists under their control. TSY will never be suppressed, cause she has strong acting abilities and work ethics. It must drive them crazy that she's able to work with top directors and production companies and her dramas all have high chances of airing on satellite tvs. She's very low key, with zero scandals, so they must find the stupidest things to nitpick, but it's okay, we all know when people trample her, there must be something good coming her way.

Sacrificed my sleep to plow all through 8 episodes of TUS. Overall, I'm satisfied with the drama, even though the ending could've of been less thought provoking. I surely spent enough trying to figure the time loop, I didn't want to still figure things down to the last scene. I'm very happy TSY took this role. It allowed us to see her in a fantasy genre, and the costumes and makeup looked really good on her!! Loved that the drama highlighted a lot of her eyes. They were so big and expressive. I sometime overlook her dialogs, and get lost in those eyes. 😍👀

We don't have to worry about Against the Current. It's 1 of 3 Tencent's S+ dramas for 2025, and they acquired acres of lands to build the set, so how can they not spend on promotions. I also trust the production, especially this time, we got a female director, and she sure knows what we want to see.
As for MD, I agree, there's no reason to attack it, since it's a drama that also promotes the greatness of China's economic powerhouse Shenzhen (the city portrayed in MD) As for hate from international viewers, I dont think there will be much since these kind of dramas aren't as popular overseas.
In 2026, I'm manifesting that the "Journey/Road of Life" script will go to TSY! Same director and scripwriters of Go Ahead. Mango and Hunan TV platform. This is the perfect team for her to work with again. With her gorgeous long hair, I want to see her back in a modern drama. So, if there's a god, please let this be TSY'S next melon. I get antsy when there's no news of her next projects. 😆😅
Geesh...I'm putting IQiyi along with Youku on my list of platforms TSY should stay away when it comes to publicity. Some of TSY'S dedicated fans on weibo are outraged and wishing iqiyi will go bankrupt. TSY spent 157 days of filming, and over a year in post production, for it to end in 10 days. The rate of broadcast was super fast and now they are selling fast track pass..last 5 episodes+bonus footages..damn, how greedy can you get. TUS is the only drama I'm watching, and I barely can't keep up. I'm just disappointed that it's ending so fast, and I'm not able to savor each episodes. I just wished they did a better job at promotional materials, cause it's a waste of everyone's efforts when it's not widely seen. I guess I should be happy with the results TUS achieved , under these circumstances.
