Any devine entities just give me some strength to finish this series! I'm on ep 8 and I can't force myself to…
I'd say, play it through til the end. In my experience, a lot of gmmtv's BL need the full length to feel worth it. but also, don't compare this to other series like not me that are completely different genres. if course not me will be more exciting to watch, it is probably a more interesting concept, but if you only watch this series with the thought of everything wrong about it, then you miss the things that are right. I've not finished it so I can't give a full evaluation, but I have really enjoyed it so far because I haven't been comparing it to past series by offgun. and let's not blame Gun on the acting part, we all know he can act well, however the acting director probably wasn't great (as shown by a few other character points), let's cut the guy some slack lol, it must be tough being 30 years old and going back to the roles of a student 😅 (can defo agree that the kiss scenes seemed awkward, but kissing irl is also a bit awkward on the neck lol) why not list some of the things you did like so far to give yourself a bit of a moral boost?

simply not a fan of brain-dead violence lol, I prefer to have stories and plot most of the time

it really isn't my taste but I'm not gonna leave a bad review that will affect the score just because of it, simply say that the acting saved the entire movie from itself. this movie is lucky that the actors were good, otherwise it would have literally nothing in it worth watching for me. the violence and gore was too much for me, even as someone who quite enjoys action and such, there just feels like it relied too much on being gory and gross; that way if people look away every 3 seconds because the actual scene is gross, they can't judge the actual movie that much

Title Between Us

manow, A and Sea slay the side character roles. definitely want a, Bee and Sea back in the future in random series just for a bit of comedic relief especially in such an emotionally tough series like this one (I mean, it makes sense, being UWMA's spin-off and all. An emotionally jarring first series breeds and emotionally jarring spin-off)

Title Between Us Spoiler
I feel so bad that I can't take sad singing scenes seriously... episode 11 part 1 had me laughing so hard after crying, I literally couldn't pay attention to it properly because of it 😭

absolutely loved seeing boun and prem more in this series, though I weirdly preferred them as a side couple in UWMA which is a surprise. the other side couples in this are cute (dean and pharm is expected because duh) but Bee and Prince was an interesting look into the fan culture around idol/actors; and the brother and friend (forgot their names other than waan) side plot was a funny premise at first but lost it's worth for me.

in all? boun and prem still make such a good couple even after all this time, and the backstory for Prem is horrific as hell, but I am glad to have that insight into his character.

MANOW IS BACK AND SLAYING ONCE AGAIN WITH HER OWN COUPLING (though I do feel there was too many side couples, in what I can only assume is an attempt at fully wrapping up the story for all characters involved)

Title A Killer Paradox Spoiler
If the story was without this whole vigilante thing and focused on a psychotic killer who has some power where…
TLDR; there is no hero, there is no good, there is good in bad (yin and Yang). In terms of Justice, we often see both sides of the story such as with the teens and that mother; she saw her son as a victim, while others like the father felt it was karmatic and justice was served. it truly brings to question what justice is and who deserves to serve it. the police officer believes it should be the law, meanwhile Roh Bin and Song Chon felt the law had betrayed them and couldn't be trusted, leading to them taking justice into their own hands - Roh Bin especially. the back stories of these characters are so vital to explaining their character and how they turn out to be. Song was a psycho who had been fed a fantasy by Roh Bin. Roh Bin was a bitter boy left all alone and needed something he felt he could rely on, be it Song Chon, Tang, etc. The officer is a tormented soul searching for the truth and seeking revenge (justice?) and Tang? A guy who's life had been tough through and through, his family unsupportive and uncaring of what he wanted to do, a guy who fell into an unfortunate circumstance and was strung along by the likes of Roh Bin.

Title A Killer Paradox Spoiler
If the story was without this whole vigilante thing and focused on a psychotic killer who has some power where…
that was kinda the entire point in my interpretation, it is a moral question of: who decides who deserves to die or not.

initially I wouldn't say the murders were necessarily unwarranted, the first guy had attacked him first, the second girl tried to extort money from him, the two teens had tried to rob him. but after the teens is when roh bin joins, and I feel that is where this "justice" seeking comes from. I believe Tang really thought he was doing justice, but then he is faced with the police officer who asks him if he gets to be the decider or justice.

It's a topic addressed throughout especially towards the end with Song Chon who believes he does it out of justice, yet Roh Bin and Tang know there is a huge difference in the way Tang and Song both kill - Song did his research and probably did do it eventually because he thought it was right, however he probably didn't start that way.

We do see that Tang has a clear sense when someone is bad, unlike Song, or when danger is near, something I would say that triggers the killer mindset. it isn't so much about his powers but rather the people around him and how they manipulate it; Roh Bin even said it himself at the end that he wanted to use Tang's power.

I feel that making the premise not about the fact they can't be caught but rather that they didn't think they should have been caught to be super interesting to the psyche and mindset of these people. There wasn't a hero, Tang was just a normal guy put into a super tough situation (something I believe even more because of how the ending aees him being called as innocent), the police officer wasn't a hero, Roh Bin was straight up a criminal, and Song Chon is a complex character who really brings to question psyche and mentality especially in his final moments of being alive where he reveals the truth that had the officer so mentally reclused from everyone else in the show.

loved it. the first 5 mins don't give the rest of it justice. I really loved it and it's such a damn interesting series, even if it is shorter than some other series.

(side note: please don't judge any series within the first 5 minutes. that's just dumb to judge a whole series based on a few minutes rather than hours.

I have seen some really nice, Japanese BL’s. Have you seen Old Fashion Cupcake?
ooh, I haven't. I'll add it to the list (edit: turns out it is already in my list to watch).
I think my issue is that I watched a lot of the older Japanese BL with... questionable morals and actions, so my only experience is the horrific stuff really (save for maybe the occasional one or two normal ones)

most of the Japanese BL I have watched have been absolute horror films or completely adult, this, however, was such a heart warming experience. watching them heal together honestly made this series so incredibly fun to watch. congrats japan, you're finally leaving my list of "who makes the most messed up BL"

i gotta say, other than the first one, I actually really liked the rest of them, especially the 4th one. the first one was confusing and honestly made me almost drop the entire things however the other three felt interesting and thought out, attractive is a strange word to call it, but the other three really were attractive to me.

however. if you want a real story, with complexity that leaves you thinking after every episode, with plot twists and a sense of humanity? this is honestly the best find

this series isn't for everyone, and that's fair, however those people who are hating on it from the very start need to calm the hell down and not leave negative reviews when you haven't even seen the full story.
I loved it, it makes me smile, cry, angry, everything, and I think some people just can't handle an actual story like this. I really enjoyed it and thoroughly recommend it, the real complex relationships shown throughout, as well as the complex moral grounds that are explored, make this a very thoughtful watch. if you want to watch something with no thought, then don't watch this.
