For me, it’s not really a happy ending, cz except for Bai Shuo and Fan Yue, literally everyone else died, but it’s still absolutely worth watching till the end, truly a masterpiece.

I love how the drama changed Xie Zheng’s reaction to finding out about Changyu’s father. His revenge matters deeply to him, but his love for her clearly runs even deeper. He would never let her be hurt because of it. This take feels much more fitting in how hard he has fought for her and their relationship, and with only a few episodes left to wrap up the story.

So true, because of the trauma he experienced growing up, he developed a twisted and ruthless personality. His ambition and involvement in power struggles really show how layered his character is.
