Prince Changxin is actually a rebel from one of the prefectures, there are 17 prefectures in Da (great) Yin. He’s not from an enemy kingdom, he belongs to Da Yin, and his rebellion is against the current Emperor and Wei Yan, who controls the Emperor. As for the nanny, yes her goal is to protect Bao’er, since he is the legitimate heir of Da Yin throne (Nb: she doesn't care about Qi Min) Plus the Fire in the Eastern Palace was a planned escape by Qi Min’s mother after the Crown Prince’s (Chengde) death, as she knew they would become the next targets. So under the pretense of grief, she invited noble ladies from the capital to keep her company and help her to cope with her loss. The Prince Changxin’s residence was chosen as the place where her son would be hidden. During the visit, a palace maid accidentally spilled tea on the Prince of Changxin’s eldest son (Sui Yuanhai) so he was taken away to change clothes. The clothes he removed were put on Qi Min. In the end, the Prince of Changxin’s wife and her son died in the fire. Qi Min, however survived his face was badly burned. With the prince’s wife dead, the household servants had no way to recognize him, so they identified him only by his clothing and accessories and believed he was Yuanhai.
to everyone who knows an answer especially people who read the novel can you explain the royal family tree i understood…
Qi Min is the son of the Crown Prince Chengde who survived a deadly palace fire as a child. To protect him, his identity was secretly switched, and he grew up under the name Sui Yuanhai, believed to be the eldest son of the Prince Changxin.
I recon some spinoffs would do well with all the interesting side stories/characters. I would love to see a romance…
Definitely! there’s so much potential in the side stories and supporting characters, as for Bao Bao and Ning Niang, I’d really love to see their future explored in a spinoff or even a short drama. Those two would make such an interesting qīng méi zhú mǎ 🥺❤️
Both leads are doing a great job. The plot is really good and the actors are bringing their characters to life.…
Absolutely! Both leads are doing an amazing job. Every emotion feels so real because of their performances. And you’re right, the writing, editing, music, and all the production elements make the story even more immersive. And honestly, the entire cast is perfect, every single performance adds so much to the drama. When everything comes together like this, it’s no wonder the drama hits so hard emotionally ❤️
I have to give Xi Wei all the credit here, the way she portrayed Chang yu’s disbelief and sense of betrayal was phenomenal. You could literally see it slowly forming on her face as she pieced together that Xie Zheng and Yan Zheng are the same person. Every subtle shift in her expression captured shock, confusion, and heartbreak, and it made the moment so much more intense and gut wrenching. Truly masterful acting 🙌❤
Probably not the moment to say this, but the frailty of Xie Zheng onscreen seems dissonant with what I hear the…
He should have so many more epic fight scenes in the coming episodes, especially after the second and third times they separate. The third was when he throws himself into battles just to numb the pain. He had earlier epic fight scenes in the novel, but I’m surprised the drama hasn’t shown more of them. Hopefully, we’ll get to see them soon! Also, Fan Changyu joining the Jizhou army makes so much sense, she wanted more military experience so she could confidently walk side by side with Xie Zheng. In the novel, she even considered breaking up with him at first because of their different statuses.
During a promotional interview for Pursuit of Jade, Zhang Linghe revealed that Tian Xiwei is the first woman co star who managed to carry him on her back and even jog while doing so.
One other thing I’m worried about is them doing the Northwest Pig Butcher Squad dirty and giving them AJTL gang type of ending 😭. I mean, they created this squad which wasn’t even in the novel, so that just makes me so nervous.
