That can't be true since deng wei said he auditioned for the role of Jing and he got it. All the ml have auditioned if I remember correct coz they were not traffic stars who got the role handed to them. The director even gave them homework by telling them to submit their own understanding of their character (including yz). I even saw someone who auditioned for a role in lyf but didn't end up getting it on weibo, they also said they regret not trying harder for the audition after seeing it become popular. Xu kai backing out might be true but after he backed out they did auditions instead. There was no swapping roles. Yangyang was also rumoured for it with xu kai but he also probably backed out. Probably coz he didn't wanna be a second lead. Thats why it took so long to film this coz yz was already signed but they took too long to find the main leads.
