I've noticed this. All the high rated 9 dramas on here I could never get into. I always end up actually enjoying and completing a drama with a rating of below 8.7 and sometimes even 7. However there are some dramas rated high with underrated casts which are actually genuinely good. The ones with like over 30k voters and a rating over 9 just seem like a bunch of fan rating just for the actors to me and I noticed that there are very dedicated fans on mdl. I have rated dramas of my fav actors low in the past simply coz it was actually bad. I don't see the point of pretending its good just coz I'm a fan of the actor/actress coz at the end of the day you can't like every drama of your fav. Anyways I'm actually genuinely enjoying this drama and its been long since a drama has made me binge all eps. I had to put all my other currently watching on hold for this. Ive never finished a drama of yang yang before after love 020 (which now that I look back on i don't think i would be able to rewatch or watch if it had came out this year) but it looks like this might be the first. Hopefully it doesn't drag.

Nope tonghua the author herself confirmed that zhuan xu was always the main lead even in the book. You can even search it up. Ye shi qi was never the main lead. Ik it wasn't obvious in the book coz normally you would assume the guy she ends up with to be the main lead but that's not always the case.
