It's like they gave his brothers character set up for him but made him 10x worse. His sister was also luo wenqians fiance before the incident and she wasn't a nice person like she is in the drama, let alone friends with li zhen. Lets hope she isn't gonna turn bad later on, I'm hoping she's the only good person in that family.

He could have easily been the main lead because the real main lead was gone for so many chapters and they spent sm time together, she was attracted to him but the moment he married another woman who later died and 'broke his promise' (he didn't rlly break it bt she only found out the truth later so ig that was his only redeeming factor), she ran away from him and I'm sure how he treated her was also a reason. So I'm rlly confused how they changed the plot now.

Um yes there is a novel based on the same name jia ye but its a timetravel/transmigration novel as fl is from modern time and enters the body of the fl from mid ming dynasty. She uses her future knowledge to make ink and help her familybecome rich. They removed the whole transmigration concept and the novel starts from after all the events shown in the drama in the first couple of eps. So they are already poor at the start. Also her father does not die in the novel, he's a gambler so don't bother relying on the novel since it won't be the exact same.

Don't rely on the book coz they have only used it as inspiration.
