Well, after they sacrifice their lifes for each other and the world, they get to see each other shortly before they reincarnate, promisising each other that they will find each other again. In the books, they survive and live a happy life, still working as a detective and professor while everyone around them gives them jealous side eyes xD
What I've read in the comments, the new one, Time Raiders, is the adaption of a sidestory, but also of the first book, just that the main character is the narrator. I found it pretty good and watched it in two days. In the comments of the Tomb Raiders series, you can find a list in what order it is best to watch. I want to wait how the second season of Time Raiders will be, I liked the actors and the style of this one ^^
Okay, finally finished it. (Got sidetracked by Time Raiders) Even without a hug they got more closure as a certain other couple from a certain series that ended this saturday... My emotions were all over the place and I needed to remind myself that canon is on my side this time! This was beautiful! The actors did a great job and even the interesting CGI didn't interrupt my emotional journey.

The actor definitvely read the books!

Started the first episode and yeah, the CGI is... interesting, BUT! I'm a 90ies girl, so I grew up with way, waaaay worth xD It even reminds me of a few of my fav shows back then, especially the cat! It is so Sabrina, the teenage witch-coded! I loved Salem! xD I will just imagine I'm back in time, sitting on the floor with my dry cereal and enjoy the show 😆
