“ maybe it can help ppl to understand some things about trauma!”
I hope that this series will provide an opportunity to open up discussions that help is available. Often times it is on a sliding fee scale or grants given for mental health accessibility .
It’s not shameful to seek help!
There are those who WILL believe you!
You did NOT deserve it!
Please do not let fear stop you from reaching out!
After sleeping a night after watching the latest episode, my brain works a bit better again. I just wondered why…
“I just wondered why Uea just can't speak up.”
This is actually very common in victims of abuse and who sustain long last trauma (PTSD). It’s truly an inability to do so. Mostly out of fear that no one will believe you or feel you somehow deserved it! It’s a vicious mind game!
As a licensed clinician (MFT) we see trauma caused by rape, exual abuse, physical abuse and intermittent childhood neglect to just name a few. Chronic trauma comes from ongoing or recurring experiences such as: uncaring, cruel or invalidating parents, family members, criticism or verbal abuse.
Uea exhibits many comorbidity symptoms of more than one type of abuse. Frankly, I believe he could benefit from intensive treatment and a program looks at the whole person as unique personal experiences from the initial causes of trauma, specific life events and memories, and any underlying conditions that will be important to diagnose to create lasting change.
I digress, I actually feel bad for Uea because none of things that the writers COULD be doing that would after mental health issues are not.I realize this is for entrainment and not a PSA (public service announcement 📣)
However they could easily have had King say, “ Have you thought about going to see someone professionally?” Or “ Consider talking to Human Resources?”
Most major companies have a Human Resource Department and they offer EDP services to promote employees’ physical, emotional, social, professional, and financial well-being.
I am struggling to continue to watch this series because Uea could befit from services and there so many missed opportunities to promote wellbeing. It’s hard to watch because the hell he is experiencing is not just something “you get over”! It really is messy! 😞 😔 😢
Statistically most LGBTQ 🏳️🌈 experience some sort of abuse and trauma in their lives. We are out here and we are watching!
As a result, LGBTQ+ people are at higher risk of developing PTSD, with prevalence estimates of up to 48% of LGB individuals and 42% of transgender and gender diverse individuals meeting criteria for PTSD (3). These estimates are much higher than the general population prevalence (4.7%; 4).Apr 4, 2022
For me- The Shipper is worth watching for First's lead comic performance and Jenny's supporting role- every time…
Ok I need to add this series to my watch list! I have heard so many people say it’s a must watch! I am intrigued by your comment and I must see the @land of death”! 😂
I need to add “History 1:My Hero”,” The Shipper”, and @Nobleman Ryo’s Wedding” to my viewing docket!
I am familiar with these titles, but in general, i don’t generally watch gender swap drama. The recent watch of “Kamisama” has definitely made me reconsider.
I enjoyed “Vice Versa” mostly because I enjoyed the chemistry of both lead actors! It didn’t really feel true gender swap and I sort of forget they were actually other people. I agree it was a missed opportunity to explore an alternate universe!
I admit I have a slight prejudice for “Cupid’s Last Wish ”main leads, Earth and Mix! I can watch them watch, paint dry! Lol
However, that said, I enjoyed the 10 episodes. The chemistry was believable and some of the comedy was just hilarious as a woman myself!
I did realize that I was being pandered to by the “powers that be” and sponsors, however as a low-key shipper, I’ll take it! lol 😂
I’m definitely intrigued to explore more of these types if drama 🎭!
This review is so comprehensively and eloquently written that I feel I have no other great insight to provide. I will encourage others to check out the time stamps listed above.
Instead, I will focus on way it made me FEEl! I just completed watching and I was moved to tears! Personally, and professionally this is a solid 10 for me! It resonated within my heart, mind and soul!
This is definitely an underrated drama. Although it categorized as a BL, it is more a journey into gender identity and shaping your own destiny! The characters were delightful and engaging! The presentation felt natural and realistic! The dialogue is a great dive in gender identity, and how it shapes who we are. The delivery of the message is outstanding!
In keeping with the no spoilers theme, I will only encourage anyone who is on the fence about watching this drama, to do yourself a favor, and do so. You will be greatly enriched for doing so!

You did NOT deserve it!
Please do not let fear stop you from reaching out!
You are worth it!
You deserve your Best Life!

Ok so anyways, I encourage anyone who is experiencing abuse of any kind to reach out and ask for help! We are out here! We care! You matter!
I think a great deal gets lost in translation from novel to the screen! I just make up my own dialogue to fill in the missing plot holes! 🕳️ ! 😂
