I believe this comment is an excellent commentary on this series and the importance of it to the industry.
The story moves away from the traditional bl type into what it is really like to be gay and live a gay life. The characters and backstories resonate to anyone who is part of the community. We all are or know someone like one or more if the characters depicted.

You brought up a serious topic and I thank you for your comment here. There are so many young or questioning 🏳️🌈 who read these comments and are forming a perceived worth and value in if they are “too gay”, “ “too feminine”, “too weak”. This negative and destructive rhetoric is leading to a gay epidemic of self hated, unhealthy self destructive choices and in some cases death!
As a licensed clinician, we are seeing gay men in crisis. They believe this type of negative and destructive rhetoric that is being perpetuated here! There are many different forms this presents , not all but not limited to just one, by depression, substance abuse , unsafe sex practices, victim of domestic violence, fractured relationships with family of origin, lack of social peers, isolation and have suicide ideology.
It is important to reaffirm people for who they are. I recommend mental health services if anyone has any concerns or fears. Many centers and clinics are on a sliding fee scale. They’re also training facilities (always supervised by a licensed clinician ) at local universities which you get excellent help at little to no cost.

Thank you! THIS comment is perfection! It is well written and desperately needed! The negativity and erroneous stereotypes being displayed are filled with hatred towards those in the gay community that are not exactly like them.

I must be getting old but I think I’m actually okay with Mon taking control of her life and going to England! Who needs all this drama in their life! She is young, she will find someone else!
I’m not actually even upset with Sam. I get how hard it is culturally and emotionally to disengage from family. So I will give her a pass and wish her peace in this life that she won’t be happy in.
Of course that probably won’t happen and Sam will leave Kurt at the altar and run after Mon!
