Seo Yul is type of person who puts the world first and the innocent. So in S1, he knew Mu-deok was Naksu who shifted her soul, so he sees those who change their souls as a monsters. He doesn't know the reason Naksu ran wild and kill a lot of people was because of Jin Mu, he thinks she ran wild eventually and killed people. He blames himself, when he had the power to stop her despite knowing she will run wild one day and ignored that due to his feelings for her. So now, he is trying to prevent that from happening again, to die together to stop all the pain.

What if they get rid of Bu Yeon's divine powers? Which will allow Naksu to live in that body. Because I think Bu Yeon's powers are the reason why the body is rejecting Naksu's soul/memories.

He got rid of the Bu yeon's souls so that the body regenerates using Naksu's energy. He knew that if she gets her memories back, it will reject the body because that's not her body but Bu yoen's. So far she doesn't remembe Naksu's memories so her body is still fine. We'll see what happens when the body starts rejecting.

That's really good theory. But after what happened in episode 6 Uk saving Yul, I think It would too cruel to fight your friend who saved you. If fire bird is anything like Ice stone (like giving you power) I think Jin Mu will take it for himself to face Uk.

It was not a lie but that changed when she started to remember her memories. This was one of the reasons why I think Jin Ho locked her up so that she doesn't remember Naksu's memories.
