Iβm only on ep 14 but Iβm loving this so much! the amount years Iβve shed! ππ
Yes, this is a very engaging drama, which challenges the inner fiber of your emotion, as if you're part of the drama, following the journey of Rong Yu and He Jiuling.
So, Chinese actors do not only have to contend with rabid fans of other actors who defame them to raise their…
Hello . . . Reading behind your lines of logical thoughts here . .
One will notice how the word fans / fanatics are being used in the Chinese Entertainment Industry . . The word fan came from the word fanatics / fantasy; its deeper implications is that "fanatic" came from the Latin word, "fanum" which means "mad or overly obsessed person" in the English language . .
And these fanatics coupled with the desire to earn more can be a very dangerous kind of people; for either they will build up or destroyed completely the acting career of any celebrity that they are in fancied of . . .
To be a fan or an admirer is good; for human being are social creatures and our tendency is to admire people who are at the top . . However, if that simple admiration turned to a "worship syndrome", then it will be another story of obsessive-addictive disorder in which an individual becomes excessively focused on the details of a celebrity, typically a TV, movie, or pop star.
I am hoping with more international platforms that the C Drama fans will start calming down. I can't believe how…
Wow! Such excellent points! You nailed it well! Your comments seems to correlate with this one famous biblical quotes. Remember? "A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house". This quotes is used of anyone whose talents and accomplishments are highly regarded by everyone except those at home. . . . (not appreciated even in his own hometown) And this is one sad irony that confronts our very own lives; "other people appreciated us more rather than those whom we profess to be our own people"
** As for Zhang Zhehan, we understand how it is; even as I am a newcomer in the C-Dramas; I've researched and read many articles about him; and with my associates in the legal industry; I've written a Discourse on it, inserting some legal words to prove our point.
I will share with you a portion of my Discourse on Zhang Zhehan: --- "To put too much emphasis on the action of one person, without analyzing and understanding the "intent of his act" is irrelevant, illogical, and immaterial. " --- "Is this the so-called patriotism and nationalism here, when you attack a person of your own and the attacked person is one who contributed greatly to the Chinese Entertainment Industry? --- For, after all, the "Word of Honor" drama series opened up fully to the western countries on the ancient culture, tradition, and literature of the Chinese people.
Chinese entertainment is so dirty. So, it's quite possible the production teams of dramas that do well in douban…
Wow! Thank you so much for your suggestions, my newly-found friend.
I will surely look into it, as we are also much into OSTs, which are so gentle and so soothing to listen with, as if our souls are floating around in calmness and in peace. - You go to bed, close your eyes and listen to it . . .
As in the Chinese OSTs: "It just proves that Music Knows No Time, No Boundaries. Everyone can Enjoy it Regardless of its language."
Chinese entertainment is so dirty. So, it's quite possible the production teams of dramas that do well in douban…
I really appreciate your suggestion here . . I have not watched not drama. Time is an essence for us, as we are working in the legal industry.
The first time we know of Dylan Wang was in Ever Night, Season 2; with Song Yiren. He did a remarkable acting there, he is the mature Ning Que and yet he is unjustly attacked on his role there. Many viewers of the Ever Night 2 were greatly disappointed because of the change of cast, from Arthur Chen (EN 1) to Dylan Wang. As one of my associates pointed out: "Fans still rate a drama according to the star-power. And I truly believe that's what happened with Ever Night 2 - fans just would not forgive the cast changes and found every little thing they could to criticize."
** As per Song Yiren being paired with Dylan Wang on Ever Night 2; she is quite well-known in Canada, especially in the Province of Montreal, Canada where she grew up and was educated. Hence, some of our Canadian Lawyers knew Song Yiren - for she is a Chinese-Canadian actress and Ever Night won the Best TV Drama Series in the 2019 Canada-China International Film Festival.
This is one reason I avoid reading novels of upcoming dramas; I don't want to have expectations of any sort. I've…
Wow! You stated it well! For these are the words that I want to capture when looking or reading so many comments here. "I try to judge a drama based on its own merit, on what the scriptwriter and director are trying to tell the audience. That's why I try not to be a couch scriptwriter or director. And I'm enjoying this drama very much."
Why do we watch drama? We watch drama because we want to be entertained; to relieve that stress of doing the daily routine; to have a sense of belonging to the characters of which their fav actors and actresses are performing; or for educational purposes of learning a new culture and a new language. Hence, we watched a drama and measure it on oneβs emotional attachment and enjoyment rather than tearing it apart piece by piece and looking for faults. With these, no one can enjoy a drama when they keep looking on the minutest details . . like the Producer/ Director are blind to get the services of this actor and such actress; the Scriptwriter is not good; the storyline is so messy . .
Much of the sadness in watching a drama is when one's feelings overruled the objective nature of what the storyline and the characters are all about . .
Hence, when rating a drama, as in our group who worked in the legal industry: "as long as you are happy, laughed, be sad, and shed tears with the characters of that drama; it then engages your emotions; and such that drama might be very good, and let us be generous in rating it . . considering that judging the show, its characters, nor its actors and actresses or its script are not in line with our expertise with our studies and expertise." "For after all we can only measure its merits . . We cannot be the Judges or Jurors for anything that is Fiction . . ."

This is for my further interest on Literature. I studied Arts and Literature under a very strong American mentor, in addition to my course in Anthropology; that my associates and I commissioned me to go more into Asian Dramas, as a guidance for them on what dramas are worthy to watch for. I loved to write and do research work, so I am the spokesperson of the group, when it comes to writing. Hence, I am writing here not only for myself but for those whom I am representing with.
** I worked in a Legal Industry, with the International Lawyers and our ever busy work schedule and travels cannot afford us to watch lots of dramas. So, I am very careful what to watch for since we don't watch dramas of more than 30 episodes or so. In a 3 years that we're into C-dramas, we were able to watch about 7 dramas only . .
Yes, I watched that Nirvana in Fire, that one has a good drama element. We finished watching it after 3 months . .
And you're right, we're attracted to C-dramas, mostly the historical one due to its colorful costume, cinematography and its OST which has always a mellowed and a soothing melody to listen with.
Chinese entertainment is so dirty. So, it's quite possible the production teams of dramas that do well in douban…
I have not seen this drama, Only For Love or not even started watching its Episode 1; and to be honest I am here to see and observe how the audiences merit this drama. Are they watching it on a objective or subjective mind-set? (-- I am doing some documents on the Objective versus Subjective Outlook on Asian Dramas, especially the C-dramas, considering its big market share due to its population.)
Now . . with your comments here . . I am beginning to be reminded of the words of my American mentor: "Appreciate the Drama, not its Eye-Candy Element"

Hi. I totally concur with you . . Observing these things from 2020; It seems that these toxic fandom can even destroy completely the acting career of even their favorite celebrities.
Chinese entertainment is so dirty. So, it's quite possible the production teams of dramas that do well in douban…
Yes, indeed! I am happy to meet you here, as we shared the same sentiments on C-Dramas. Ad you're right. I am missing those western dramas, where viewers watched with objective minds, rather than on subjective level. Subjective that they only looked on the physical or superficial aspects of the actors or actresses and tge storyline in general.
Chinese entertainment is so dirty. So, it's quite possible the production teams of dramas that do well in douban…
Hello. Thank you for your reply. I appreciate it. This is my first time to write in this Comment section and having been raised in western dramas, I am relatively new to C-dramas. I only know very few Chinese actors and Dylan Wang is one of them and for the rest of the Casts in this drama, I am not familiar with them nor seen their dramas. So, I am very grateful to you; as I've learned new things about the Chinese Entertainment Industry. I really admired your straightforward insights here.

About 3 years ago, I read an article written by one European Drama Analyst that "the most toxic fandom in the world as the Chinese fans". Now, reading your insights here, I truly agree with that article. Thank you so much for your details here.
I canβt move on for these two lovely couple YiRen and YouShou I just love them and their chemistry as a lead…
Wow! You stated well, the obvious facts . . watching from the western side of the US, huh? And me, watching from the eastern side of Canada . . . it seems that we are doing the same outlook on this beautiful drama which makes us happier . . And this is what a drama is all about; we watched it, to be entertained . . knowing that the actors and actresses there performed their roles to a perfect "T". πππ
I am with you; still waiting for this beautiful drama, with intense excitement!
Of course, they both look so great for each other . . This "Her Fantastic Adventures" will surely be a big hit when it will be released. Song Yiren is surrounded with 4 handsome guys here . . I am sure many hearts will be fluttering around . . haha
Here a tiktok live streaming of SYL and WYS with English subtitles. https://youtu.be/ry9U2M5eVe8?si=ELE7cZrJJ3SiRIdc
I saw it now. Such a lovely, happy video of Wang Youshou and Song Yiren! And I am seeing some comments in the French language. I can imagine them as those who lived in the area where Song Yiren grew up; that is the Province of Montreal - the French-speaking province of Canada. Merci beaucoup . .
It's OSTs are extremely good! The mellowed songs are well-selected, perfect to listen with! ππ
And this is one of the outstanding features of this engaging drama that I will always cherished all throughout. The soothing and relaxing sound of its Original Soundtracks makes my mind at peace and listening to its melodies seems to make my soul to be floating in tranquility.
** The blending of the beautiful voices of Song Yiren and Wang Youshou captured the very essence of the storyline of this wonderful Drama!"
