I love the bromance between Bai Jue & Tianqi, but I have to admit these two sure fight often. 😂 I’m rewatching the fighting scenes video I made of ALP and I see them dueling many times. At the intro of Tianqi in E1 and those many incidents because of Shanggu.

Btw, if anyone is interested in re-watching I’ve re-edit the fighting scenes video to make the scenes flow better with the music.

Yes, alot of people wanted a bit more from the ending (including myself). But I was still satisfied with the ending, regardless of how short it was.

I know! The music coming on was a huge factor in causing me to tear up! That didn’t happen to me in TMOPB.

Actually I quite agree with you. This is on par with The Long Ballad for me as well. For me, this surpasses TMOPB (even though I love this drama too). The second half was very heartbreaking for me as well. I went through quite alot of tissues, especially from E38 and onwards. It’s because of those moments that makes me feel that Bai Jue and Shanggu’s love story is very beautiful.

I’m still having a hard time moving on from this drama. 😂 It was my first time watching Zhou Dongyu and her acting was amazing. Now that I’ve watched the drama a few times, I appreciate her character as Shanggu as she was so bubbly and happy in the first arc. Don’t get me started on Xu Kai, I LOVE his performance here. The emotions that he brought to me through his micro expressions were stellar. I don’t know how many times I’ve cried, especially in the 3rd arc. This drama was so good that it even got me started in learning video editing just so I can make a few videos with their great OST & CGI.

Yes, Hao Du and Leyan are very cute together. I especially love Leyan’s character development in this drama compared to her other dramas that I’ve seen. I also love the song that Hao Du sang in this drama, very smooth .

I actually went to the Song of Youth page and did see the same person hating on Xu Kai. It’s funny, the poster wanted people to know how bad he is as an actor on a drama he isn’t even starring in. 😂

I haven’t moved on yet 😂

I remember seeing a similar posting by this Hunter person before, also using the ratings from Douban to bash on ALP.

There is also another person, I think called Jupiter Rules. This person would come almost everyday, while it was airing, saying things like Xu Kai can’t act, he’s emotionless, etc. He/she was literally attacking Xu Kai every chance given. I haven’t seen that person after the drama finished airing. 😂

Most of the xianxa dramas that I’ve seen takes awhile (about 15-20 episodes for me) before it gets interesting. So ALP was the same situation. It took until E12 for the drama to get interesting. The second arc started at E16 and that’s when I got hooked to the drama. It was such a beautiful love story (with ALOT of angst), great CGI and an amazing OST. I don’t know how many tissues I’ve used (especially in the second half of the drama). To me, it’s better than TMPB, AOL, L&D, and L&R. It became my second favorite drama on my list, right after TLB. 😂

I’m also watching You Are My Glory, but just slowly since I’m not quite over ALP.

I think you’re right about this Hunter account. He/she was always using Douban rating to show how “bad” ALP is. Also, Jupiter Rules is another similar account.

This is a great drama. Even though it’s been 3 months since I’ve finished the drama, I still end up rewatching my favorite episodes every couple of days. Congratulations on finishing this drama.
