Surely, should be allowed to express without much toxicity & personal agenda. Giving trash rating 1 to everything except favorite oppa or unni drama ,is not free personal opnion. This is called trash k pop stan behaviour.

She is talking about Netflix dramas and K drama landscapes. This is why I am talking about what I think. Do you see only negativity in this drama! Surely tomorrow, Last Summer, The Great Flood, Made in Korea. There are lots of negativity on every page I visit recently. It is too tiring to talk about these on every page. Fans overly protective , yeah of course we will when there is overflowing toxicity recently. Do you feel normal when a certain trashy oppa drama fan gives trash rating to every drama with the actors who are more or less same generation as her favorite? If you feel this is normal, Good For Ya I know a fair mixed reaction when I see one.
Is Junho's acting great in this drama? It is normal. Not as great as his award winning complex performance in TRS ,but not bad either. Even the great actor/actress can vary in quality from project to project especially when the script isn't tightly written. His acting is way better in the same year release like typhoon family. But it isn't the worst either .
K drama fans becoming like Kpop fans. People love underdog characters,but only underdog characters who miraculously win . As soon as these underdog characters act silly or lose , they can barely stand them. I should suggest him not to take them anymore. Here, everybody is complaining about Minseok when her character is logical and smart.
And to shoot typhoon family,he lost weight more to fit the image of Y2K youth (in the club scene) .Of course, people who don't pay attention to subtle changes in weight and appearance of characters won't even notice it,but he made an effort anyway. None of his characters are boxers, there was no point in making extremely bulky. He suggested to bleach his hair in typhoon family but typhoon family director opposed the idea because they had limited time. He was always interested in directing and he had a degree in cinematography, he suggested in provision of scenes so it turned out better. TF director even thanked him in her interview for his ideas & suggestion. It was kinda sad that the production team had to meddle in script producing, a script with much potential was ruined. I do pray that Junho gets better production & scripts in future without much meddling. Because this is the burden of a leading actor (especially when you are famous). Even if the script fails. the fingers will point to you anyway. Thankfully, typhoon family viewership is over 10% and cashero is doing well on netflix chart though it premiered on the same day with stranger things. Otherwise, people won't stop talking & much more noisier than it is. And in my opinion, Junho is the finest actor his generation who doesn't chase popular roles alone. He isn't afraid to be poor & silly though he can easily grab another handsome buzzy character. He is good in serious roles like the red sleeve, confession & also good in comedic roles like twenty, typhoon family & cashero. He is great as a bad guy in good manager and great in emotional role like rain or shine.
It is ridiculous to listen to some of the complaints here. Junho two projects are out this year. cashero (Original Netflix content )was produced in 2024 and typhoon family was produced in 2025. Cashero needs special effects,so the drama came out later than Typhoon Family. Junho was successful with the red sleeve (which was a mega rating hit as well as a critically acclaimed project) and king the land (which made him a hallyu star). In trs ,he played a powerful king . In ktl,he played a chaebol. Both characters are powerful rich male leads, Masses? If he wants to remain popular, he can easily choose similar handsome, rich,popular and buzzy characters as his next projects. Instead of this. he chose two underdog characters as his next projects. Too underdog that there is no miraculous win at the start of both dramas when people always love to see heroes win. How do you expect him to act as an introverted civil servant who suddenly gets a disadvantageous superpower or a ruined rich kid after his father's death if you are not satisfied with his acting!
Sure, story writing is not best for both dramas. Typhoon family script won the writing contest, it was supposed to be the best script of tvN,but the producers muddled to increase the rating,which worked in opposite way. The final script was not the same one as the one Junho received the offer.
Typhoon family viewership rating was over 10%,6th highest rating in 2025. Cashero got No.2 Non English Netflix ranking in its debut week with 3.8 M views. It is 2025/2026. Not every projects with 2 A listers is guaranteed to be a hit. Because people are watching it,and it is enjoyable,it is bringing views though they are not 'Mass Popular' genres. Is Junho more popular than most of the Hallyu stars that even if his projects are bad, mass will watch it? Yeah, Junho is doing his best ,paired with fresh faced actresses in non conventional roles because he wants to try various genres. His next role is an antagonist. I don't even know what to think of these comments. It is ok to do constructive criticism while watching a drama. But don't second guess the actors efforts when you don't know him and talking as if he is an actor who is a lazy bum now & trying to ride his popular wave.

Is there any fan who loves animes as well as a K drama like me ? For latest 3 episodes, whole GMJ /Thailand arc is like a Sasuke resue mission in Naruto. All we want to know is our main character,Naruto saves his friend,Sasuke or not. But on the way, you have to learn all characters of Shikamaru squad & Orochimaru squad before getting the scene. Typhoon family is a very special drama which fouses on characters,not only two main characters but also all the members of typhoon company. It can be considered a very well made slice- of- life drama if it is a daily drama with multiple episodes and less known casts.Because it is a prime time drama with well known casts,people are expecting a high speed one protagonist drama. The drama is very great for those who are trying to find a drama which focuses on life & people ,but keep your expectation low for who want to see high speed one protagonist drama. The drama's greatness depends on your perception what you are trying to find here.
9% for workplace slice of life drama like Typhoon Family is very good, usually this genre got 5-6%.

The drama is a business drama in 1997 & the story of two ordinary people getting closer & falling in love. The main characters are poor. Male lead has a falling business & he was kicked of his house.Our female lead is intelligent but struggling. They have an ongoing Asian Economic Crisis,IMF. It is not the gritty business drama type. A coming of age one like fight for my way. No Cardboard cut out characters from cliched tropes (Powerful man with weak woman Cinderella story ) e.g king the land , two beautiful /handsome people at the top of their food chain falling in love (e.g most of popular C dramas lately ,like legend of female general, love on clouds.
The drama is great, the main characters are great as well as the writing of supporting characters. But it is not the drama type global audience are usually drawn to. It will need lots of good mouths for people to discover this gem or how well it is made.
But on positive side, Domestic audience loves it. It is doing well in rating and online buzz (good data) and it is No.1 Netflix Korea since 14 Oct.

Because viewers have low attention span. They can't wait character built-ups & want down to business .This is why K dramas become shortened to 12 or lower.Another reason is ppls want a hero who always wins (Dopamine rush). In BAYM, heroine almost always wins her cooking battle . Another famous examples are jtbc reborn rich . Vicenzo, Trauma Code. With low attention span,what viewers want are competent hero or heroine from the start. Not a hero or heroine who learns and matures throughout the drama. But in TF,hero Taepoong was scammed twice which made viewers impatient. In Director Lee Najung's directed dramas, her characters are basic & well written, but she has trouble creating characters which are popular & well liked by GP. And I dare say if the leading actor is a less well known actor than Lee Junho (this drama is quite similar to LJH JBL ,but he was quite a newbie during JBL), it won't get as much as now.It is disheartening to see that some well-made dramas pass under the radar because the characters are not cardboard cut out from wattpad. Handsome, rich, smart male or female lead. If both leading characters are poor,only A list (both female and male are well known faces) pairings whom fans want to see ,will get a solid hit.
Typhoon Family Genre- it is Shounen meets with ' Shoujo kind of genre.
It is a hero's journey to adulthood. It is Shounen. but K drama almost always needs Romance, so they add a cute Shoujo romance between a smart girlie and quirky boy.
Tae-poongnie is like little Naruto. A bit silly, protected and enthusiastic. At the end of drama, he is going to become like adult Naruto who is a smart and brave Hokage.
Romcoms are always more popular and people always love to find romance whatever the genre is. So, non romance oriented dramas tend to get less popular globally.
If he performs well domestically in ratings, he may win another Baeksang. The IMF crisis was a painful chapter in Korea’s economic history, but it also became a story of resilience, with citizens uniting to save the nation.
