After TSJ told XY his suspicions, XY came up with a plan to get evidence. Only she knew her plan. She got Tushan Hou to be interested in her. It made FFYY jealous and confront Tushan Hou. XY had a magic mirror (called a gorilla mirror?) that recorded the confrontation. It was the only magic mirror of its kind, IIRC. The confrontation had all the evidence TSJ needed.
Because of both Toushan Hou (jerk) and FFYY, FFYY took almost all of the blame and was punished/tortured severely. Toushan Hou only got exiled. Later, TSJ staged FFYY's death. It freed him of his marriage and allowed him to be with XY again.

He was set up to be murdered by his brother, CX, etc. (Yes, CX too.) He went to help save the poisoning of his nephew. But, it was all a charade, because the conspirers had the antidote. Then, they set about killing TSJ. TSJ survived partially because XY had previously given him a pill to protect his life. In addition, XL went to great measures to save TSJ’s life, including getting a lot of XY’s blood, which helps heal injuries. Seven years later, TSJ came out of his coma.

I agree! In life, no one is perfectly flawless. I appreciate the author/screenwriter not pretending to write perfect characters. And, life shouldn't be about taking others down to build yourself up. That's pathetic. People should spend more of their time thinking about the good things in their lives and improving themselves. Obsessing about bad things isn't very helpful on any level of life. So, I say that people should avoid descending to dragging anyone.
