I have started this drama when it was released and was heart broken seeing how miserable Cang Xuan was when they…
CX is XY's first cousin. He loved her like a brother would. He found her when she was an adult and was disguised as a man. He didn't fall in love with her until she turned back into a beautiful woman. But, before then, she had already started falling in love with someone else. This drama has three great love rivals. All three of these men loved XY dearly.
XY loved CX dearly too. But, she only loved him as a brother. He didn't do anything to not deserve her love. Well, something did happen late in the book. But, a rumor is that it was cut from the drama (Season 2). Before then, they were devoted to each other, were very close, and spent a lot of time together.
Edit: Some viewers believe that XY was in love with more than one man. But, she ended up with only one of them. She is a one-man woman.
Rewatching on VIKI because it works better on Chromecast (GET IT TOGETHER TENCENT!) But why on Tencent the orphan…
In general for dramas, Viki has the best subtitles (great volunteer translators). Netflix has the next best (paid translators). The rest tend to be quite a bit behind. iQiyi > WeTV/Tencent > MGTV. The Viki nickname is probably more accurate than the Tencent nickname.
does anyone understand why feng long is willing to help cang xuan? as he mentioned his family is well off, and…
Feng Long thinks more about the upside than the downside. He is the heir apparent to being the head of his family, almost no matter what he does. After he becomes the head of his family, he can definitely do much more of whatever he wants. He wanted the world to be a better place, so he bet on CX. (He was right about his bet.)
I'm a bit confused ,i'm on episode 4 and i still don't know who is the ML, I know there are many but i need to…
The ML is CX, who doesn't end up with XY. He's the ML, because the story covers his life and rise to power. In almost all romance dramas, the ML ends up with the FL, but not in this one. There are three great love rivals, including CX, TSJ and XL. All of them are arguably equally important to the story. TSJ is the one who ends up with XY.
I think XY is also pretty flawed. She is a lot harder on Jing than anyone else. He's never hurt her but both CX…
Great points! I think this is partially why she was open to Jing entering her heart. He never hurt her cruelly/viciously and started saying early on that he would always be with her.
She forgives very easily, because her expectations are so low. But, she wasn't that way towards Jing, someone who might actually stay with her forever.
SPOILER below.
There will come a day when she overtly chooses Jing over CX, because of something CX did.
They only see his weakness but don't realise without jing, CX wouldn't become king, XY would be dead. Feel bad…
Great point in your first sentence! Also, if remembering the one bad thing and forgetting all the good things holds true. then XL would have been ruled out first, CX second, and TSJ third.
it's like an endless cycle, first someone talks bad about Jing then someone defends Jing , someone else will talk…
Well said! Also, I've always said, "You can't explain love." This is based on what I see in real life. People fall in love with who they fall in love with. Some people fall in love with people who are absolutely terrible for them. Some people pass by great people, including great friends who seem like they would be great husbands for them too. Some people prefer bad boys, good, bad or ugly. Etc.
Also, you never really know what goes on in private. The husband could be sweeter and more helpful than anyone sees in public. Or, he could be abusive or disinterested or whatever else that isn't very loving. There are so many things from large to small that collectively make a difference. And, each one could be weighted differently than normal. For XY, her anti-abandonment thing was huge.
can u guys just skip the hate comment abt each character? don't need to justify by mocking another too , just…
Maybe people should keep in mind that Tong Hua (the author/screenwriter) loves all her major characters. Attacking them is kind of like attacking her. Maybe people should imagine what it would be like if Tong Hua were the one reading and responding to their comments. I bet they would be a lot more respectful and understanding of differences of opinion.
I try to focus on all the great comments. I know it's sometimes easier said than done. Sigh.
Why does TSJ fans and XL fans fighting again. Really you can just skip the comments criticizing your favorite…
As my wise mom would say, if one gets upset like that, they're actually hurting themselves more than the person they're fighting. If one loves themself enough (and preferably has enough compassion for the other person too), then one should try not to get so upset.
I've had my share of fights (not fan fights, but other kinds of fights) that made me feel terrible inside and that I've regretted. Live and learn. Live some more and learn some more. For people who can never stop themselves, I feel sorry for them. They are hurting themselves. They should at least try to stop hurting themselves... or not...
Anger isn't good for the soul. I have a sister who takes her anger out on strangers. (It isn't the Golden Rule, but that's a separate topic.) She thinks it makes her feel better, but it's actually eating her up inside. She'll probably never address the source of her anger and a better way to deal with it. Peace and happiness will be a lot harder for her to come by, if not impossible, at the rate she's going.
I don't recall ZX ever finding out that the poisonous bugs were Lovers' Bugs, but there is this scene where they…
I remember wondering what ZX might have been thinking after XL's reply. But, he wasn't in a position to push anything. I didn't think much more about it either, from ZX's perspective. I was more into XL's perspective, which we already knew.
