The first three quarters of this drama where very entertaining. The story was both serious and funny and kept my interest all the way. And then something happened in the last quarter. It's like they replaced a good writer with one that had no original ideas of his own. Good drama became bad melodrama. It got to the point I knew what was going to happen next because I'd seen it in other dramas. I still recommend it because there's a lot to enjoy and their chemistry was off the chart but be prepared for the ending to disappoint.
Overall I liked this drama a lot. It held my interest for the most part and I give it a very solid 8.5. The good guys were diverse and interesting. My problem is with the director and how he portrayed the bad guy. I got so bored with the bad guy by the last few episodes I just wanted it to be over. He always had a shadow across his face with either a low, growling bad guy voice, a smirky smile or an evil stare. Did the director think we're too stupid to remember who the bad guy is? Good enough that I'll re-watch someday,

The leads were cute together. I want a short story to be about the growing relationship between the leads but they added very unnecessary love rivals. But on the whole it was fun and worth watching. --Was anyone else bothered by the fact that this rich woman parked her very expensive sports car on the street then apparently had to walk a block in the weather to get home?
I started skipping just to see if it finished any better but it did not. Contract marriages are a genre I usually enjoy and I really wanted to like this. The ML was someone I wanted to find happiness. I hope to see him in something again. The FL had an unlikeable personality - making assumptions and blowing hot and cold. I don't usually talk about how someone looks but who thought giving her the most unflattering hair style was a good idea? Pretty blah and disappointing.
I liked the leads. The last kiss was sweet and romantic. There was a lot of potential here. It's too bad the story tellers failed in their job. Too much was left out. Hopefully they will re-edit their film and release a fixed version.
I have mixed feelings about this one. I liked all the police characters which is unusual for a Japanese police series. There's usually yelling and bulling aimed at the detective who is different. It was refreshingly missing here. I liked the paring of Ando and Aoyama. However, the mysteries themselves were easily solved and I figured out the bad guys before she did. I hate that since I liked the detectives so much. Finally, I thought the last episode was pretty lame. I'd like to see these characters in another season - but with better mysteries.
The last few minutes of this series was the only thing keeping me from giving a very rare 10. Adding those cartoonish scenes at the end just ruined it for me. They have no place in this show. Instead, without revealing any spoilers, they could have shown us what happened social media-wise after the 4 months were up.
After talking about the imperfection of the ending I'd to talk about the scene when Nubsib brings home the drunk Gene. I thought, "oh, no, not the get drunk and puke on your love interest trope" but I was very pleasantly surprised. The writing, acting, music, lighting and cinematography had me riveted. That sweet scene was perfection.
The writers wasted my time showing me Aoey's backstory. I guess they wanted us to feel sorry for him and his annoying constantly pouty, crying face? I have zero pity for him. He alone is responsible for his actions. I'm not even sure why his character got so much story time. Frankly, they could have removed most of his scenes without impacting the story and I would have been happier not to see him.
Anyway, I loved this. Gene and Nubsib make an adorable couple. I loved their backstory (count to ten). They have good romantic moments, great kisses and times of very sweet affection. I will definitely watch this again (but skip over Aoey and the last few minutes).
I loved this show and the two male leads. I was really interested in the story and the conversations between Vlad and Karl. It was presented in a very real way. But can we talk about Vlad's toxic sister? Her "love" caused much more pain than necessary. I can't stop thinking about her and how much I hate that type of person. The MLs would have faced what needed to be faced anyway without her bulldozing thru their lives.
I liked the series. The MLs chemistry was lovely. Love their kisses. Happy ending. And aren't That and Sorn adorable? The story was a refreshing change and the mystery was interesting. I could tell who were the good guys and who were the bad guys very early on but I didn't care. I appreciated that most of the rich and powerful bad guys didn't get away scot free. However, Rung's resolution left a bad taste in my mouth especially since Tan was involved.
One thing I want to rant about: it happened in History Trapped and this even more serious drama - our heroes are in the very quiet woods being chased by men with guns so they talk really loud. It seems like someone working in those productions would mention whispering might be better.
When I saw the synopsis of this film I immediately thought of Big Eden that I loved and haven't seen in 20 years. Like Big Eden it's about a man that returns home from the big city and finds himself and love. I was so happy when Mitsuomi started to grow. I liked the chemistry that developed between our MLs. I am disappointed that it ended too soon. They still had story to tell. Story I really want to hear. I hope they make a part two of this film.
This director's is so much better than the original release. The sudden ending in the OG didn't make up for what had gone before and I felt this was a disappointing, ho-hum series. The added minutes in the director's cut kicks it up to one of my favorites. I can't begin to imagine who thought cutting the ending off in the original release was a good idea.
First What Did You Eat Yesterday? and now Cherry Magic. Japanese BL has started hitting them out of the park. I enjoy the HS and college BL's but it's so refreshing seeing romance between working people. Cherry Magic is cute and funny and yet still full of feelings. How lucky is Adachi to find someone like Kurosawa? Kurosawa just simply loves everything about him. It was lovely. My favorite lines of the year are in this show. I won't use names so no spoiler: Friend: So what happened? Sad Friend: A lot of things. Friend: Then tell me a lot of things. Now that's a good friend. Highly recommended.
This could have been really good but I can't give Oh, Mando! a rating above 7 because of the way they handled the para-suicide subplot. When Barry is hurt he attempts suicide. After his FOURTH attempt we are told he's okay "he's going to need therapy". What about the therapy he received the last three times? Are the writers telling us that Barry is okay now that he's found love? I don't know how you treat someone who frequently attempts suicide but the writers should have asked a therapist who does before adding such a triggering story-line. Instead, they give the impression that para-suicide is no big deal. It is a very big, serious deal.
Not the greatest but certainly not as bad as some of the reviewers are saying. I didn't love it but I liked it and will watch it again. One scene in particular really touched me and that was when Pai broke down in front of his parents. When he started crying so did I. My kids and grandkids are grown and if I heard any of them crying like that it would absolutely break my heart.
Definitely not for the faint of heart or maybe not for anyone. There was a lot of sex but not the erotic kind and lots of violence. The of the end of the Noir version confused me then about an hour after I watched it I got it. Aoyama confessed that he had caused Haruto's problems and had people killed but when Haruto said he (Haruto) wasn't a man anymore Aoyama said he didn't mean for it to go that far. That was a lie. Aoyama had Seiya's pics in his phone so they were intimately connected. Killers conveniently found Seiya as soon as he called Aoyama about biting off Haruto's penis and to confirm that he's now a manager. That means Aoyama made promises to Seiya if he did the biting. Haruto is now ruined for anyone but him. This is not a movie I'll watch again. It does weird things to your head. Would not recommend.
Was it Until We Meet Again levels of crying then? I’m planning on starting this, and I’ll probably skip most…
I haven't seen UWMA but I have never seen so much crying as is in My Day. So many characters cry, or tear up, multiple times in most, if not all, episodes.
Director James Ivory once told actress Emma Thompson, "don't cry unless you absolutely have too. If you have to…
On my soapbox for a second: I do want to talk about the whole Moira resolution/reasoning. They didn't for a second convince me that she ever loved Sky but we're supposed to believe she is forgiven all her many sins against them because she was so hurt. She was just a selfish, narcissistic sore looser. I'm so tired of the bad people getting away with everything in BLs.

I know I'll watch it many more times.
