I suggest series! As far as I know, the movie is just a different cut of the series, and while I often think the KBL movie cuts have better flow, in this case I feel that the extra series time is probably worth it. At the end of the day it depends on if you want to watch the full 4h40m or a condensed 2h34m version.
I wanted to like this one, but for me the execution didn't live up to what sounded like an intriguing premise. I wish they would've made it shorter or actually fleshed out the plot.
I wanted to like this, for Billkin and PP, but I don't think this remake was needed yet for anyone other than a Thai person that doesn't like (or is unable to) read subtitles. The original isn't old enough that it could benefit from an updated take, so the remake was almost beat for beat, but not hitting the same since I already knew the plot points that could've drawn me in. I don't think this deserves a higher grade than the original, but am finding it hard to grade it at all. It's not a bad production, but it kind of just felt like I was wasting my time.
i can't be the only one completely fine with the show's length. some of the best shows i've seen also have a small…
I'd much rather see a well crafted story, told in the amount of episodes that it needs, than to see it dragged out to fit a more typical GMMTV series length. I'll be frustrated if it turns out that it needed and deserved more episodes, but a mini series absolutely can tell a satisfying story. I am kind of annoyed that the GMMTV 2026 lineup is coming up, and we still don't even have a release date for this, since it was one of very few pilot trailers from the 2025 lineup that looked interesting to me, but hopefully it won't feel rushed once it comes out. Overall I wish GMMTV would focus more on quality, instead of pushing quantity that typically means that popular ships have to try to carry series that don't even live up to their own trailers.
I wholeheartedly agree that Vietnam should be on MDL, but I don't actually think Singapore is a new addition.…
Huh, that's interesting. I guess my source for the information might not have been as reliable as I thought. If that's the case, then I'm really curious why it's labeled under Singapore everywhere. Perhaps the creators just thought it was the only way to get it past censorship, and then the label stuck. A few smaller Chinese BLs that came out around the same time, and reportedly shot in Japan, are still labeled on MDL as Chinese, so I wonder if this page will get updated eventually.
So in order to release their BLs, the Chinese are passing them off as Singaporean?!? Naturally, MDL adds immediately…
I wholeheartedly agree that Vietnam should be on MDL, but I don't actually think Singapore is a new addition. I've had 'Summerdaze' on my list for years, so it looks like it's been possible for a while, unless it was previously submitted under another country (possibly Korea, since it was filmed there). I know this was filmed in Singapore, but it's hard to see to what degree it's actually a joint venture. I would've probably listed it under China, since it looks to be more accurate with the information given about cast and crew. Hopefully people with the knowledge of Singaporean LGBTQ+ series will start making more pages. The absence of countries does frustrate me, but hopefully it's not down to a desire for MDL to exclude them, and more that they have a plan of adding countries bit by bit in order to be able to handle the influx of new pages. I wish I could find MDL addressing it somewhere, since my reading of the situation sometimes feels too favorable in the absence of an actual statement from them.
The honey scene looked hot and all, but why am I too much of an adult to not consider the washing up after. Can you imagine getting honey off of all of the surfaces within splash range. And that rug will probably never look the same. XD
A 10.0... but its entire grade rests on the opinion of the 1 person who voted. XD Not that grades on here are known for being super reliable, but this is the first time I've seen this issue. I was impressed at first, before my eyes wandered over to the breakdown for the rating. It might be a good movie, but with the limited information it's kind of tough to know. Hopefully the other 6 people who marked it as finished, or future viewers, eventually give more of an indication as to if it's worth trying to hunt down.
The rest of the episodes are geoblocked for countries where they have it up on iQIYI
That's strange. Perhaps it's up on another service in your country, for some reason. Otherwise it seems that the only way you could support them with views would be to use a VPN.
I applaud them for trying to do something a bit different, but for me, I think this show was close enough to being interesting, that the experience of watching it ended up being even less enjoyable than that of shows that are arguably worse. I wanted to be intrigued, but I just wasn't. Towards the end I was just watching because it was almost over, and if there had been more episodes, then I'm not sure I would've made it. Not unless that added time had been used wisely to improve the overall pacing, etc. Maybe I was just expecting too much, so my message to anyone that plans to watch it: Lower your expectations, and you might have a better time with it than I did.
Honestly, what did you gain by answering that? If you didn't feel like engaging in a conversation about what may have confused them, then you could've just taken your sense of superiority and moved on.
I love this comment section. Its much more entertaining than dangerous romanceš¤£
I was very much looking forward to Dangerous Romance, but the writing (among other things) have been such major disappointments. I was invested for the first 2 episodes, but then the character motivations started making less and less sense. I rage quit during Ep. 8, when Sailom answered how long he's been into Kang. This show is a whole other level of writing. Despite not always agreeing with the characters decisions, I've never felt that they don't make sense for them.
ray character is not likeable i know but man i love it. i don't know why, maybe because i am like that. yes i…
They've written realistically flawed people. I don't think Ray has been good for Sand up to this point, and without therapy I don't think he'd ever be, but I still get why Sand can't seem to leave.
This show is going in the history not for their NC scenes but their acting. I think most actors gave their best…
And that they continue writing such compelling characters! Despite not always agreeing with the characters decisions, they've done an excellent job with making it make sense for the character portrayed. That's some solid writing. I can't remember the last time I've talked to my screen this much. There's been a lot of cussing and "Sweetie, no!". XD
The first half is terrible, but not so bad that itās torture. The second half is pain.
I somehow expected you to say that the second half was okay. "Pain" had me choking on my coffee. XD I guess I'll keep this on my 'Not interested'-list.
Now we are seeing Boston and Top redemption arc. I mean, I personally hate cheaters. Now it depends on Mew and…
I'll be so torn if Ray dies, or if his actions causes the death of someone else. A part of me will be like: "Wow, it's actually amazing that they went that real with it". While another part of me will likely be screaming: "Noooooo, they ruined the show!", and I would have to take a lot of time to digest it. XD
Ray is a mess, but I find him to be a compelling character that I wish goes to rehab. He hasn't been good for Sand in the state he's in, and I don't know if they'd be super healthy even if he got sober, but damn they've got chemistry. I've seen friends in that type of relationship so I can't say it would be unrealistic for them to end up together. I wish Sand would've stood his ground and not slept with him straight away, but real people make that mistake too. XD
The writing (and directing?... and editing?), for this show, is so bizarre to me. The character motivations aren't adding up, and hardly anything ever feels like it truly has any lasting consequences equal to the severity of certain situations. They add drama, and then the plot moves on like it might as well have never happened. It's kept me from being able to feel invested in the characters beyond the first few episodes, where I was rightly pissed off. Now they're trying to tell me Sailom had feelings for Khan even back when the bullying was their only interactions... Sure, people can be attracted to assholes that don't treat them well, but the only way that that would make sense to me, given Sailom's smarts and how nasty of a bully Khang was in ep 1-2, is if it was a hormone fueled attraction that completely overrode his other senses. We see none of that. Don't get me wrong, I'm not someone who needs a couple to go at it like bunnies 24/7, for it to be enjoyable or believable. That, without a good plot, I find equally yawn inducing. But, intimacy (or lack thereof) needs to make sense for the characters portrayed. I've loved Heartstopper, for instance, because that is also a true representation of how it can be as a teenager, where everything is new and there's spark and tension with every handhold. But they can't sell me on puppy love towards a person that hit his best friend so hard in the stomach that he doubled over, and severely damaged his reputation even outside of school, in a way that can't be undone, to only name a few. Feels like they got two scripts jumbled up, and then filled the rest of the runtime with flashing back to scenes, in a lazy attempt at trying to give the impression that they've created more depth to the characters than they actually have. It all feels very underworked, and I'm disappointed since I was looking forward to seeing more original works.
