This is the first Thai BL to do a grown up love scene. The Japanese BL's do it all the time, which is what makes the Japanese BL's so much more sophisticated and realistic. The Japanese BL's are so much better at depicting realistic human relationships -- in all their beauty and ugliness and are not afraid of depicting hard sex and showing some skin (eg, "The Pornographer"). Frankly, I won't even watch a Thai BL series anymore because they are so cheesy, badly acted and unwilling to show true sexuality (TharnType was the last good series to come out of Thailand). They are all so similar that they feel as though they are manufactured off an assembly line.
Now, K/P is not exactly realistic. The depiction of the mafia is absurd. The mafia does not have a compound that resembles a shopping mall replete with little shops for a tailor, gun shop, food court, spa, and a dorm for the body guards. If you wanna see a realistic depiction of the Asian mafia, watch the BL "Double Mints." They mafia are scumbags who burn their lackeys with cigarettes (and even rape them), when they disobey. But despite K/P's patently absurd depiction of the mafia, it is worth watching because the romance between the leads is scorching hot. No other Thai BL has been willing to go places that this one has with a romance (ie, tonight's love scene). I am truly impressed. And even if the depiction of the mafia is absurdly unrealistic, it's funny -- and intentionally so. Tankhun is clearly intended to be comedic, so it works.
So this episode makes it look like a plot line is being set up for the little brother to go gay with guitar guy. Am I right? Can someone who's read the novel tell me?

I just googled for the novel of this and have a question. Is "What's Wrong With My Bodyguard?" an alternate title for the novel "KinnPorsche"? I read the opening pages and it looks like the same story from the series, and that only the title is different.

Then I watched more episodes and began to like the show so much more, such that I had to delete my initial rating/review.
Basically, I got pulled into the show at the 2nd episode because of that brother who dressed like Liberace. He was soooo campy and I loved his whole schtick with Elizabeth and Sebastian. I thought, oh wait, this is not bad show because it's intentionally trying to be campy and fun. It's not asking us to take it seriously (eg, a show like "Not Me" asked to be taken seriously).
But I did not realize this at first, so episode 1 made me think, "Oh god, this is some cheesy show that wants us to take it seriously as a gangster drama." I mean, that opening scene with Kinn shooting the Italian mafia guy was a rip off from the Godfather. It set the tone of the show as a serious wannabe gangster show. That's why I gave it a 6.5 in my initial rating. Then I watched more and realized, no, it's not trying to be serious. It's actually high energy and a lot of fun, so I'm enjoying it.
I also began to notice that the acting in KinnPorsche is pretty good. The actors all seem very comfortable inhabiting the characters they are playing. Nobody is stiff or hesitant. You know, like the actors in most Thai BL's who are super stiff and speak as if they are still in rehearsals reading lines from a script. They all pause before speaking, as if they're trying to remember their lines. Totally amateur. The actors in Kinn Porsche, to the contrary, are quite professional and speak their dialogue very naturally.
At any rate, I deleted my review because I changed my mind after more episodes. Indeed, I don't think MDL should even let people give reviews when only one episode is out. I'm sure there's a way to keep reviews closed until a show has at least half its episodes out. I have said this before in my comments and got attacked. But the fact that I, myself, had to delete a review because I changed my mind proves how inadvisable it is to let us give reviews when only 1 episode is out.
In short, we should all ignore ratings/reviews right now because they are not legitimate until the show is completely finished.
When you say Vegas "never took a glance to Pete ever" do you mean that scene where Vegas first comes to their house and glances in Pete's and Porsche's direction? And Porsche teases Pete that Vegas was looking at him? Based on that, I assumed that the show was setting us up for a romance between Vegas and Pete, not Vegas and Porsche. But you seem to be saying that Vegas was actually glancing at Porsche that day, and Porsche got it all wrong when he said Vegas was checking out Pete. I don't mind spoilers so just let me know if Vegas wants Pete or Porsche! lol.

Who is Tawan? I did not see any character with that name in the 3 episodes. Is this a character that is in the book and will appear in the show in later episodes?

Thank you! I agree with all your assessments. I loved this show, and I love the story itself. I love stories about childhood friends becoming lovers. I just wish the screenwriters for the show did a better job relating this story. As you noted for my Question 4, it was occasionally "sloppy." But I can let these little things go because, overall, it was a good show.

But only the Koreans would know it because viewers from Western countries see the word "marriage" and we immediately think of legally binding marriages.

I replayed the scene to check if they were merely squinty or closed, and they are fully closed. I'll let it go cuz it was a nice kiss, but it would've been a much nicer kiss if his eyes were open and he was looking into Kinn's eyes. Eye contact is sexy of and in itself. Instead, it looks as if he is just so drunk that he literally cannot keep his eyes open . Then, in a drunken daze he felt Kinn's lips on his own.

Why was Porsche closing his eyes the whole time that he was saying thank you to Kinn at the end? At first I thought he'd fallen asleep cuz he was so drunk, but in the next moment something happens to indicate that he's clearly awake.
Gotta give it to them for including a kiss in the very first episode! It has the same whimsy and charm that Cherry Magic had, plus the bravery to show a damn male-on-male kiss!
