Archie told the wife that she's the one who made Kelvin unhappy in high school. Does this mean that he knows it was her who outed them? I got the impression that the guys did not know who did it back then .
A little ambitious for sure but enough other enjoyable aspects to make me overlook. But your point is on point
You right. And the acting is good as well. I find the student crushing on the TA and muscle boy to be the most appealing. They both have lively personalities. I don't care so much about the tutor-tutoree. It's irritating that the tutor hasn't just said, "It was suicide. Otherwise, I'd be in jail right?" But I'm sticking with this show because of the good qualities. I'm dropping Jun and Jun because that one is just too lazy. The morning wood bit was funny, but there isn't much else to recommend it.
I bet you didn`t complete the drama. it`s not really about Fujoshi.
He met her because she was buying a fujoshi manga at a book store, and she later took him to a fujoshi convention, so it was sort of a marker for their relationship. But, as you said, the story went much deeper than that. She began to understand what being gay truly meant. By the end they had a genuine friendship that went deeper than some fujoshi thing.
Besides, there's nothing wrong with being a fujoshi. The original term "rotten girl" was because the Japanese still had homophobic ideas that only weirdos could like gay men. They also said it made girls "unmarriagiable." It's only homophobes and cranks like that the original poster who was trying to sound superior who complain about fujoshis. Most gay men have no problem with fujoshis. I've read tons of Queer Studies PhD dissertations and they all think that the BL culture is positive for gay life.
Academics have only one issue with BL's. That is, the common trope that a guy is "really straight" but just gay for one man (I call it the "One Penis On the Planet" trope, lol). That trope sort of denies the reality of homosexuality and bisexualism. Otherwise, gay people and Queer Studies academics enthusiastically embrace BL culture.
I can't agree more. Love in Wuthering Heights is most toxic but it's still a good story.
Brilliant analogy. Heathcliff is utterly abusive and he even digs up Cathy's corpse to hug it once more after she dies. Yet it's one of the greatest novels every written.
The director of ep 1and 2 was Kato Ayaka. She also directed Old fashion Cupcake. Building up of sexual tension…
I want season 2 of OFC . I was counting on that but it's been over a year, so it looks like it's not happening. Instead, we get a season 2 of Minato's Laundry. Ugh.
We had the excellent Semantic Error and Blueming. Cherry Blossoms After Winter also wasn't bad.
Oh, ok, you meant office settings specifically . I thought you meant how K-BL's are getting weak in general, which they actually are. They put out 46 this year, and only the handful I mentioned were great. The majority felt rushed with sloppy plots and poor acting. If they don't slow down they'll become like Thailand's BL factory -- which made about 100 this year, all crap.
10 eps of 25 min each is about 5 hours. That would be a terrific amount of time for one main couple. Maybe, a side couple. But for 3 main couples? Nope. The viewer cannot get into any of the couples cuz none of them get enough time in a mere 25 episode. Hell, it took me 4 eps just to figure out who was who, and who liked whom.
Best disincentive for a person about to commit suicide: "Don't kill yourself because I didn't wear makeup and will look ugly for the news cameras!" lol
I just checked your profile. You are a female whose list is packed with BL's. That's the definition of fujoshi.…
I feel intellectual because I AM an intellectual . I hold a PhD from Columbia University and read Queer Studies papers on this topic all the time. Hence, I know exactly what the fujoshi culture is. For instance, you are a fujoshi . You precisely fit the demographic of a female, under 30 who enjoys BL. So you trying to act superior to other fujoshis is risible.
I liked a lot the drama and the movie, but i think the movie did some things better, specially Miura, i felt that…
Thank you! Omitting that kiss made the movie much better all by itself. The drama had more Queen songs, which I missed in the movie, but the movie was still better simply cuz it omitted that horrible hetero kiss.
Because I watched the series I wasn't really impressed with the movie version, actually I found it slightly boring…
I preferred this movie because it omitted that absurd hetero kiss that the series included at the end. That made no sense and gave the message that Jun was still pretending to be straight. Omitting that kiss from the remake would've been enough on its own to improve the story. But the fact that Jun's boyfriend was closer to his own age was a real plus too. The guy in the series was older and grosser. The guy in this movie looks to be only 10 years older.
If you are vacillating between this series and the remake, which is a movie, go for the remake. The ending here includes a hetero kiss that made no sense, which viewers complained about and which the remake, thank god, omitted.
