For those of you bothered by the sibling theme: in the book she was the ghost of LJX’s wife who took this body after the girl died in an accident so in her mind he was never her brother. For him, he also found out early on that she wasnt his biological sister which is a lot easier to digest. Also in the book, LJX kidnaps her for a year but doesn’t touch her, he finds out she’s pregnant and is there for the birth of the baby, he then sends her and the baby home which in my mind redeems him a lot. She was actually the ghost of his wife so makes more sense his joy of finding her again just to find she didnt love him anymore.

In the book he only became like that because she died.

In the book FL was only 11 at the start so they were like sister and brother until she turned 14 and he found out they were not related. With SML she actually was his wife who was murdered and her spirit went into this body that was dying. 10 years had passed in her new body thats y she didnt love him anymore and has grown up into a different person. She finally breaks downwhen he gets hurt for her at the end andcries as she feels shecant repay him. She begs for his life and he is spared. Up until then she is completely cold to him

That’s actually the alternate ending in the book😂 he finds her 5 years after she falls down from the cliff still alive, she was pregnant when falling down and their son was 5 years old. They then make up and live happily ever after

Yeah but he didnt force her in that time unlike what LSY did. And tbh he was really thinking that she is HIS wife which is understandable.

Lin Mao is the sweetest in the novel. He loves Yi ning and proposes marriage but when she rejects him he gives her a huge dowry and gives her his blessing before going to continue his career.

Reading the novel and realllly not sure. Lu Jia Xue never wrongs her, loves her truly and shes completely cold to him even though they used to be in love. Also, the writer likes to justify non-consent with phrases like “he’s a man” and “any man will not be able to control themselves” 😬😬 also the ML in the book has her followed and under surveillance 24/7. Shame as its otherwise a really good story. Just really twisted ideals.

Yeah thats y i prefer the novel ending. I understand ML dying for his cause but her ending didn’t have to be so sad. In the book her and CL are close like sister brother and they form a family in the end even if it’s not romantic

Reasons for doing wrong don’t absolve you of your actions. A relationship has lots of ups and downs and tension in a lifetime and being able to overcome challenges is the test, whatever his reasons for changing in their marriage it just means they weren’t suited for each other and could not overcome their issues. She did not blame him, but his actions made her fall out of love with him. U cant avoid people popping up in life and everyone has a past and that past will incite emotions, if you cant accept that then

Sometimes people marry in love with dreams of how things will get better and better and then you wake up one day and realise this is it. Not justifying her behaviour but until you have struggled you don’t know how hard it is and I guess life turned out different to what she wanted. Still no excuse to abuse the husband, think shes just tired and fed up of everything being so hard.

For those of you melting at the scenes in ep17, in the Princess Agent novel XingYue actually do spend the new year together after they reunite so you can just imagine this episode is also XingYue reunited and together😊
