a fairly quirky drama that was entertaining. I have never seen these actors before but the ML FL and 2ML gave very credible performances. I thought the character of the 1st ML was manipulative, and driven, trampled on all around him to get what he wanted, including the FL character, One thing that was very confusing was the daughter of the murderer of the FL mother turning up in her new place to give her grief, what is that about. I much prefer the 2ML character. FL character is of an extremely good at her job, forthright and outspoken, however very naive regarding relationships. We will see how it finishes.
For me season 1 had the balance between sketching, art , psychology and police work about right, in season 2 it was much more focused on the darker side of psychology with some art, no sketching to speak of, and police work. I am not saying i didn't enjoy it, I did, but i was more comfortable with the balance in season 1. Hopefully for season 3 we can get back to a more balanced across all skills again, with SY as the trump card, supporting DC and the rest of the team. Tan Jianci is brilliant as SY, as are the rest of the actors, what a delight it is to see the character come alive. Season 3 is an absolute must, please. I am rather old so let's not wait as long for the next season. This series is quite unique in its focus and i am really enjoying it.
Here we are, New Years Day. The final episode of season 2, and wow did it deliver. I have not enjoyed all of season 2, it has been less gritty and there seems to be a distance between Du Chen and Shen Yi, however that doesn't mean i don't want more, i am hoping the cliffhanger at the end is the teams new years resolution, or a promise of Season 3, i sincerely hope so. Many thanks to all involved for a superb season 2.
Thank you so very much for your comment, i really appreciate it. I had already worked all that out. i really did…
Thanks once again, I have really enjoyed reading your replies. maybe one day i will go back to it, but not now. I see we are on ep 33 now with 7 to go. I have been exploring other series.I am so happy to have found both Cdrama and Kdrama on a good website. I also watch series from other countries as well. So much better than the usual dross that we are fed here in the UK. Far too explicit for my liking but then i am rather old now. I know if i find a series i can watch it through without having to close my eyes. I can just relax and enjoy. I have to say i prefer historical dramas most. though i have watched some modern day series also. I have never felt that you were "bashing" me. i have enjoyed the conversations and looking at things from a different persons viewpoint. there is never any harm in chatting. I find it very interesting. If you have any recommended viewing i would welcome any suggestions. I have just finished Nirvana in Fire which i very much enjoyed, especially season 1. which i felt was under-rated. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. Regards and best wishes.
It is not poor direction. The FL is doing an excellent job portraying a complex character. She managed to portray…
Thank you so very much for your comment, i really appreciate it. I had already worked all that out. i really did watch until ep 19. What i couldn't understand, was that she continued to keep close links with the man who had killed her. The scene that was pivotal for me was when he visited her in the temple and she did not immediately rebuff his marriage proposal. It looked at the time as if she was giving it some thought. Had there been a definitive NO, or even a sad smile and then NO, i would have continued to watch but there was not. It was left hanging between them. I thought it quite cruel rather than kind to leave emotions between them unresolved. Had she been more forthright it would have freed him from his longing and able to move forward. After that i was not interested enough to continue to watch.
belated happy birthday. just watched Hard to find, it is my first short cdrama and i found it well worth watching. I will be checking out others from the list above. for the excellent acting to the entertainment value i would have rated it at least 8.5 if not higher.
i am afraid i couldn't cope with the silliness of the FL mostly it was the voice that put me off. almost like listening to a silly 8 year spoilt brat. I like the ML and have seen him in other dramas which were quite good. am giving up half way though episode 3. sorry.
Jo Jung Suk as the king, his performance was believable and outstanding and kept me coming back for more. the Female lead had me puzzled, at the beginning she was very animated but as the series continued that seemed to fade away. i have seen her in other Kdramas and she has been fairly good. so i can only assume that this is what the director wanted. the supporting cast did an excellent job, making the series a very entertaining watch. I will watch it again.
having lived most of my adult life either as a nurse or a mum in the Middle East, Iraq, Saudi Arabia. Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, and Oman where my grandson was born, not to mention Africa Tanzania, Congo Brazzaville, Nigeria, Guinea Bissau, I find some of the negative comments rather puzzling. I agree with sooyaa's comment. People no matter where they are from do have a sense of humor and fun. I have found most people very welcoming and it is so obvious in King the land that the two men have a close friendship having gone to private school together in England. Drinking is forbidden, however, some do drink, it is not for me to tell people how to live their lives.

quite good. am giving up half way though episode 3. sorry.
